'The English speaking owners are a pleasure to deal with, and seem to have thought of everything.'--Fodor's Paris 2011
Imagine enjoying your own private retreat in the heart of Paris--a place you can relax after every thrilling, but exhausting day of visiting museums and palaces, of strolling along grand boulevards and threading through medieval passageways, and of indulging in too much shopping and eating. Envision a place with no grumpy desk clerk or housekeepers who wake you up too early.
At nearly 51 square meters, the apartment is spacious by Parisian standards and can comfortably accommodate up to four adult guests. A fine collection of original Art Deco furniture and accessories from the 1920s and 1930s is supplemented with modern upholstered pieces, bedding and hi-tech appliances. The walls are decorated with a growing collection of original early- to mid-20th century oil paintings of Paris landmarks. A private balcony, stretching along the full width of the apartment, is an ideal spot for people-watching, enjoying a simple meal, reading a book in the sunshine or sipping a flute of champagne before dinner.
The sun-filled living room is a welcoming spot for relaxation or entertaining. It accommodates a generously-sized seating area, a dining area and a fully-equipped computer work area. A laptop computer is provided, and guests are welcome to bring their own computer for use with our unlimited WiFi. A WiFi color printer/copier/scanner/fax is also available. Rainy days are made more tolerable with HD TV, pay-per-view videos and video gaming.
The apartment's private spaces show equal attention to elegance and convenience. The bedroom, larger than most Parisian hotel rooms and furnished with the finest quality bedding, is a restful spot to gaze out over the rooftops and plan the day's adventures. Sophisticated Italian stone tiles, natural lighting and a glass-walled walk-in shower contribute to the calming spa-like atmosphere of the bathroom.
The large, professionally-designed kitchen is furnished with the latest, high-efficiency appliances to make cooking and cleaning a pleasure. The space easily accommodates the preparation of a gourmet meal as you watch the lights atop the Eiffel Tower trace a patch across the night sky. A dinner party for 8? No problem!
In addition to the apartment itself, we can also supply additional services that will make your stay in Paris truly memorable. Just about anything is possible with sufficient advance planning--private airport pick-up, gourmet treat or luxury bath baskets, dinner reservations, theatre tickets, weekly cleaning services, etc. We encourage you to let us know what you desire to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Living in our vacation apartment will allow you to discover a side of Paris you've never experienced before, even if you've been a frequent visitor. Set away from the most touristy areas, our neighborhood is a place where the Parisians you'll encounter every day are those who are on their way to work, escorting their children to school, relaxing in the park, or chatting with the merchant next door. You'll find them to be friendly, helpful and genuinely pleased to see you enjoying their neighborhood!

Our visit to Paris was fabulous. We are so happy we chose this apartment. It was beautiful, clean and had everything we could possibly need. Your welcome book was so helpful and Lauren welcomed us warmly. We had plenty of space for our family of four and enjoyed some quiet evenings out on the terrace. We loved the bakery around the corner and found the location to be just perfect! Thank you!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/4

Overall especailly pleased with how well apt was appointed and clean. Since I like to cook, found the kitchen tools, pans, dishes, etc. especially upscale for a rental. Loved being out of the touristy areas but close enough to walk if we wanted. The apt guide prepared by owners is the best I've ever seen--a work of art for info.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My son had a week's work experience on the outskirts of Paris and my daughter and I spent our time sightseeing in the immediate neighbourhood, across Paris, Versailles and even a day in Deauville. The apartment was ideal for all of us. Very easy to get anywhere and also very safe - down the road from the police station. It is in a very interesting neighbourhood and plenty of cafes, restaurants and good food shops which make daily errands great fun. But it's away from the main tourist drag which allows a break. Having said that, a stroll takes you into the Champs Elyse, the Jacque mart Andre museum and Sacre Coeur. Getting to Versailles was so easy too. After busy days the apartment was a fantastic retreat. The decor and furnishings are tasteful and 'special' which adds to the experience. Combined with this is a well equipped kitchen. Everything is of a high quality and operating instructions are clear and easy to follow. The WiFi worked brilliantly. It was very hot and the big doors onto the balcony were fantastic although the old building and high ceilings meant the apartment never got too hot. Beds are all comfy and the sofa bed is so easy that in seconds the room is transformed back into a sitting room. Linen is high quality and there are plenty of towels. Great too that the essentials are in the flat. It was a great find and a real treat to stay here.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed our stay at this apartment!! We had two adults and 2 children in our group and there was enough room for all of us to feel very comfortable and at home! The apartment was spotless, has great furnishings (including new washer, dishwasher, and computer/internet access), and is located very centrally (but still felt very safe and relatively quiet). It is located only a few blocks from the Metro, so we were able to easily get wherever we wanted to go rather quickly. There were also many nice restuarants and bakeries in the neighborhood.....I miss the bread and croissants already!! Doug, the owner, was very easy to work with and accomodating to our requests or questions. This is a great apartment and that went along way to making our experience in Paris a wonderful one!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, families with young children.

We stayed in the apartment this past May and loved it so much that we must confess to perusing the neighborhood real estate offices and fantasizing about having our own place just like it! The apartment is gorgeous, just like in the photos, but moreso. Lovely antiques, linens, a well-stocked kitchen, a laptop, spacious closets, and a fantastic (new?) walk in shower and kitchen. We loved the charming balcony and spent time on it each morning. The apartment feels very spacious, with windows that open on three of its four sides, so there is a wonderful cross breeze. The apartment was immaculate and really felt like a private inn or first class B and B. Can't say enough about it and we plan to return next summer! The owners responded very promptly and professionally and had written an amazingly thorough welcome book that is really a bona fide travel guide to Paris, the neighborhood and the apartment. We should have looked at it more thoroughly before arriving because it is really worthwhile. Lastly, the location cannot be beat. Batignolles has the feel of a real Paris neighborhood and is filled with some of the best cheese, wine, pastry shops, and restaurants. We ate at a small place called Bistral that was by far the best meal we ate while there. It doesn't feel touristy at all, but it is happening. On Saturday night families were out and there was a concert at the church. The park is lovely. We were concerned about being a metro away from much of what we wanted to see, but it's actually perfect: you're a short walk away from 3 metro stations and it's only 10 minutes away to most places. We walked one day all the way to the Opera Garnier and Parc Monceau and that was a lovely 20 minute walk. Okay, enough gushing. This is a find!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The apartment was gorgeous, very large and in a good neighborhood. The pictures provided don't do the property justice. There isn't anything we needed that wasn't provided. Apartment was very clean, well maintained and quiet. Good neighborhood with everything we needed nearby. Also very convenient to the subway/train system. Our family of four loved this apartment, its neighborhood and it made our stay in Paris, well, wonderful. Top shelf accommodations both attractive and comfortable. Quiet. Located in great neighborhood made better by guest info book from owners that explain local history and attractions of the area. Easy access to Metro., etc. Added perc - the owners provide concierge service, and we were met by a capable and friendly person who let us in and helped us get settled. We will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Year Purchased: 2004
Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 17:
We purchased the apartment for our own personal use with the idea that we might rent it out occasionally--mostly during the summer months when we wouldn't be able to enjoy it. Since that first year, however, we've had such demand that we're rarely vacant more than three or four weeks a year. Many of our guests return year and year and have standing annual reservations. It has been a pleasure owning this apartment, but more importantly, it has been a pleasure making so many friends around the world who share our love for the apartment and for Paris.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Our friends always ask us what we did when we return from a stay in Paris. Often we look at each other and then shrug our shoulders. We just live daily life--selecting a type of produce we've never tried at the market, lingering over lunch, enjoying happy hour--all the little things we can't seem to find time to enjoy in our normal lives. We like rekindling friendships with the clerk at our favorite bakery, watching the old men play very serious games of petanque in the park, and reading the newspaper at a cafe and listening to everybody laugh about the latest scandal. We like prowling the weekend antiques markets and visiting our favorite dealers scattered around the city. Sometimes, we catch a train from one of the nearby train stations and spend a day in the countryside. In short, we've been visiting Paris three or four times a year since 2000, and we still haven't run out of things to do!
