Alta House fit our needs perfectly (two adults, two young kids). It was close enough to the entrance of Joshua Tree to make the drive easy, and also close to the funky cafes and stores right down the road on Hwy. 62. We lucked into a fantastic Farmer's Market on Saturday morning that was bountiful indeed. Zeke's house was clean and spacious. We are not fancy people, but nevertheless we were suitably impressed with the quality of the facilities. The fenced in yard allowed us to kick a soccer ball around, the solar glow lights in the front added a nice touch. A fire pit and picnic table were inviting as well. Towels, soap and bath amenities were plentiful. WiFi access worked fine. The kitchen could use a few more utensils, sharper knives, that sort of thing. And our youngest was a bit bummed that the tv had no ESPN, but those are minor complaints. This is a house we would return to.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children.

The house was fantastic, there were three of us staying the weekend and we all enjoyed ourselves. The fire pit was great for the evenings and there were beautiful mountain views from the back yard and front yard. Zeke was extremely helpful and I would definitely recommend this place for anyone looking for a great getaway.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My family (including twin 5 year olds) stayed at this rental for 7 nights to explore the greater JT area and climb in JT. We have rented many other places in JT previously; hands down this one was the best! The owner was incredibly responsive and helpful. The house was exactly as described; it was clean, spacious, and well appointed. It was a great value for the cost. Awesome location. Great little backyard fire pit. Overall, nothing but positive! Will definitely come back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Neal, Glad you enjoyed the house! It was great meeting you and your lovely family. Hope to see you guys next year. Thanks again!

Our family stayed there for christmas time with two friends (5 total) and we had enough room for everyone. My 5 year old enjoyed the place a lot. Every room has a small heater that really warm up the whole room. Also, we enjoyed the outside fire pit a lot! We sat around the fire and enjoyed night sky with a cup of hot drink. It is close to the park entrance and few shops that we bought firewoods and food. The owner was vey nice and easy going. If we go back to Joshua tree, we will certainly stay there again.Recommended for: Families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks so much Hye-Won! I'm really glad to hear you and your family enjoyed the house and especially the backyard fire pit (which I love!) Kids do seem to dig the place. Thanks again! Cheers, Zeke

It was fantastic and we'll definitely recommend it to our friends whenever they say they are visiting your area. The park was magical and the community very welcoming. We went bowling and fortuitously ran into the Saturday Farmers Market. Thanks again for hosting. Owner response: Thanks Lea! Glad you enjoyed the house, park & people! Come visit again. Cheers, Zeke

About the owner: We are a family who run a local rock climbing guide service called Joshua Tree Guides www.joshuatreeguides.com We have been climbing and adventuring in Joshua Tree National Park for over 20 years!
Why the Owner Chose Joshua Tree:
Our goal when searching for a vacation rental property was to provide visitors with affordable, clean and comfortable lodging in very close proximity to Joshua Tree National Park. We have accomplished this with Alta House! We also bought Alta House house because its such a cute and wonderful house with a good vibe/feel, great layout and is backed up by 10+ acres of open land owned by a local man we know has no intentions of developing the land!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Private backyard with a fire pit! You can sit and watch the sun go down on the mountains or star gaze in privacy, its really awesome! Its also super close to town and the National Park, but does not have that 'in town' feel and has cool artistic interior paint job!
