Comfortable, spacious, well furnished accomodations in retirement community which has very friendly neighbors. Location on north side of town has good access to shopping, golfing and dog exercising. Patio was well furnished and looked inviting but we visited in historically poor weather with precipitation and near freezing temps. Loads of closet space and good bedroom lighting for reading in bed. Unit was very clean and both Owner and Unit Manager were quite helpful and informative. Access to hiking was good but do not plan on taking your dog on your hike as the advertised dog friendly hikes in the Tucson area are no longer open to dogs. Catalina State Park a notable exception. Saw more wild animals in the undeveloped area surrounding the development than in all of our "wilderness" hikes around the area and great for early morning bird watching.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners.

We found the hideaway to be the right size and very comfortable place to stay. Very nicely decorated and plenty of rooms for us. A great location for access to golf, music, shops and entertainment. Enjoyed the swimming pool and hot tub after all day of activities. Only a few minutes to walk to the pool and hot tub area. Quiet and friendly atmosphere. Fantastic to see wild animals from the living The owners, Doug and Dan, were great to deal with. We appreciated freshly picked citrus fruits from our neighbors. we would definitely use the hideaway again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks so much for being such great guests for us and friends for our neighbors. You guys fled to the dessert at just the right time this year, given how tough the northern winter has been! We hope you come back next winter and that your year is fantastic! Cheers, Doug and Dan

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1989
About the owner: My brother and I inherited The Hideaway from our parents, who bought it as their dream home when they were ready to retire. We completely renovated it in 2011 with new appliances and vintage Danish furniture and other hallmarks of the 1950s that harken back to that bygone era our parents knew and loved.
Why the Owner Chose La Cholla Hills:
The Hideaway has a spectacular sunset view over the desert mountains that is totally unencumbered. A gorgeous mountain-facing patio off the living room and master bedroom turns the outdoors into the best room in the house.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
The Hideaway is located in the renowned La Cholla Hills retirement community and features awesome landscaping, and well maintained sporting and leisure amenities. Tucson National Golf Club and Arthur Pack Golf Club are a 5-minute drive away. Our neighbors are fun loving and always excited to meet new visitors.
