Les Girolles is a stone house with several terraces that is part of the domaine Lagrenie, close to Groléjac. It is quietly situated at the end of a wood road, but just 15 minutes from the Medieval city of Sarlat and the famous villages Domme and La Roque-Cageac, and only 25 minutes from the castles of Castelnaud and Beynac. Located on a hillside it provides fantastic views over the river the Dordogne and the Perigordian hills.
Lagrenie consists of an old farmhouse, where the Dutch owners live, and two rental houses: Les Cèpes (sleeps 8) and Les Girolles (sleeps 6). The renters share a large swimming pool (6 x 12 meters), table tennis table and trampoline, and have complete privacy with several terraces of their own.

We stayed at Karin's cottage in June 2012 for about ten days. It's a beautiful property and was perfect for our family. The children loved the pool, ping pong table, trampoline, open areas to run and explore, games in the cottage. Adults loved the remote location. We felt as if we were close enough to town to stop in for dinner or to the store, but far enough away that we were really getting away from it all. The cottage was fully stocked with everything we needed to feel at home There is also a laundry on-site for extended stays. We enjoyed having Karin on the property to answer our questions and help with small details. The pictures really do the property justice. The region is great for active families. We canoed, swam, hiked, explored chateaux and museums. We coupled the stay in Dordogne with a week in Paris so we could enjoy both city and country. A terrific vacation!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.

About the owner: We, Karin and Gijs are a Dutch couple in our fifties. We moved to France two years ago to fulfill our dream. Since then we are almost fully booked from April through September and we are very proud of the reviews we have received. Karin takes care of the houses and gardens, Gijs is a writer and board room consultant and facilitates business retreats.

We have dreamt all our lives of offering a quiet, inspiring place to people to relax, be happy and rebalanced from the pressures of society. We found Lagrenie in 2010 and we have turned it into something unique: the authenticity of a medieval domaine with all modern comfort you could wish. Lagrenie is surrounded by woods an has views over the river, but is very close to all famous castles, markets and villages of the Dordogne.
