Nice view but.....
Nice view but.....
The place was not clean as I was hoping it would be. I had to clean the bathroom when we got there. The sink in the bathroom is very, very low and so is the ceiling above the bathtub. If you are 5'11" your head will be touching the ceiling in the bathroom. Good luck washing your hair. The comforter and pillow shams smelled very, very bad as did the old recliner and sofa. They should have at least sprayed it with Febreze fabric refresher. The kitchen has plenty of seasonings but most of them are expired. The coffee in the freezer was expired 5 years ago. It gets very hot during the day inside the cabin and there is only 1 table fan. It is a cute cabin with a nice view of the water but because of the above mentioned we will not stay there again. I do not like to give a bad review but I have to say it like it is.

Owner response: I’m sorry that your stay at our beach cabin did not meet your expectations. I would like to address your concerns. The bathroom was cleaned the day before your arrival, yes the tub porcelain paint is aged and has two small chips that have been resealed but the tub and surround was cleaned. As far as the bathroom sink being “very very low” this is absolutely not true it is a standard vanity and standard height. Yes the ceiling is sloped and at one end of the tub the ceiling height is just over six feet and the other end is almost seven feet, the shower head is at standard height and I have absolutely no problem washing my hair. As far as the “very very bad” smelling furniture I have checked your concern and find no odd smells, I will take your advice on the use of Fa’breze, and the pillow shams are washed after each stay. As with the seasoning in the kitchen, again this is absolutely false. All of my spices are replaced twice a year and none of them even have an expiration date on them, so how would you even know if “most” of them were expired? All the condiments in the frig are monitored for their expiration date and replaced as needed. Now to the coffee, we realized that we had run out of coffee and at the last minute ran to the local small grocery store at the top of the hill and bought that one pound bag, just less than two weeks earlier. I never even checked the expiration, I was shocked and did go tell the store owner of the expired coffee that they were selling. We are experiencing exceptional weather in the Puget Sound area this summer, as we did not receive one drop of rain the entire month of July and even had temperatures into the mid 90’s for many days. As I told your husband if it gets to warm in the cabin, just open all the windows and the breeze off the bay will cool it down quite a bit. First time I’ve ever had a complaint about it being too warm, usually it’s about to much rain here in the Northwest. When considering writing a negative review please refrain from making up false statement to embellish your story. I know you were disappointed that there was no WiFi upon your arrival and that you had to carry your garbage across the street and that the laundry was located in the garage with cold water only… But this is clearly stated on the web site.
This is the first time I have ever rented a place like this and I have to stay. It exactly fit my needs for the time I was there. It was cozy, clean, and a great view. I would enjoy staying there again in the future. :)
