VRBO Bear stayed here: We found this property to be beary special
In a traditional Ile St Louis building (like this one, very few have lifts but the beautiful wooden and iron stairs is typical), the apartment is on the third floor above Monsieur Lefranc’s cremerie and Madame Martin’s boulangerie. The chimes of the church of Ile St Louis’s bells from can be heard from across the street through the 3 south facing windows. Accommodation
Beautifully but simply decorated and furnished to highlight its traditional features, this renovated 30m2 studio has style and character. It consists of a large living room and a smart, well equipped, kitchen with breakfast counter and stools. A very high quality sofa bed provides the same comfort as a normal double bed. The modern bathroom has an excellent shower. If you want to work or just check your emails, there is a stylish console desk.
Above all this apartment offers great value for money for it's standard of accommodation and brilliant location.
Location! Location! Location! The Bear and his wife spent six nights at this charming studio apartment on Ile St. Louis. The apartment is located near the Seine River in the center of Paris, just a 5-minute walk from the Notre Dame Cathedral. The St Michel subway stop is a close walk away. The apartment is located on a street which is lined with bustling sidewalk cafes, delicious creperies, the famous Berthillion Ice Cream parlor, and local bread and cheese shops. There was also a convenient grocery on the street. We enjoyed strolling along the narrow street and window shopping at the cute gift shops. Each morning around 9 a.m. the cathedral across the street from the apartment rings its bells, which only adds to the charming ambience of the neighborhood. We could not have picked a better neighborhood to stay in for our first visit to Paris.
The apartment came with everything we needed and we were very comfortable during our stay. The pull-out bed was comfortable and we slept well every night. The building is very quiet and we weren’t bothered by any noise on the street below. We loved having a kitchen that allowed us to make dinner at home, complete with stove, refrigerator and microwave. The kitchen was stocked with a coffee maker, coffee filters, dishes and silverware. The bathroom was also nice with a good shower, clean towels, small washing machine and extra shelves for toiletries. The apartment features large windows that allow a great view of the street below and also curtains for privacy.
Sarah, our check-in person, met us at the apartment and was very friendly and took the time to show us all the apartment’s features, and showed us how to work the washing machine. We would highly recommend this charming studio apartment for anyone traveling to Paris.

Ile St Louis is one of the most enchanting places to stay in Paris and Paris by numbers can tell you now that as soon as you arrive you will find it hard to resist staying local for the duration of your visit and living side by side with the 3,000 or so inhabitants of this unique island on the Seine. The island has a village feel about it and is delightfully unspoilt with it’s mixture of handsome 17th century architecture, narrow streets and magnificent views from its tree-lined quays and berges (banks) where you can picnic and watch the boats go by.
Running lengthwise along the island is it’s main street, rue Saint Louis en l’Ile. It boasts a baroque church, refined boutiques and gift shops, old-fashioned bistros and brasseries, chocolate, ice cream, gourmet food and wine shops, a florist, bakeries, two amazing cheese shops and many little “salons de thés”. But of course here you are also at the geographical centre of Paris and from the island can walk, cycle the Velib, ride the Metro or hop on and off the Batobus on the Seine to reach all the city's landmarks.
Begin your sightseeing with Notre Dame (Ile de la Cité is linked to Ile St Louis by pedestrian bridge) and your shopping with rue de Rivoli, both of which are just a 10 minute walk away. Walk for a little longer and you will reach Saint Chapelle, Bastille, the Pompidou Centre , the Louvre and the Tuileries Gardens. For night life just pop across the bridges from the island to the the Latin Quarter (south) and the Marais (north).
RER B will take you direct from CDG and Orly airports to Notre Dame-Saint Michel and the island is serviced by three Metro stations: Pont Marie (line 7), St Paul (line 1) and Cité (line 4)

About the owner: Bonjour tout le monde (hello everybody),
Je m’appel (my name is) Liam (Guillaume en Francais) and I am the owner of this apartment we call LOUIS02. I am Irish and live with my family in Dublin, but my work takes us regularly to Paris and I love to immerse myself in the city’s daily life.
Staying in a traditional apartment as opposed to a hotel, even for a short stay, has always enabled us to get the most from our visits to Paris. This encouraged us to buy several studios on the wonderful Ile St Louis.
In my Blog for which i can send you a link, I share my own and my family's time and experiences in Paris to provide useful news and information for business and leisure travellers to the City of Lights.
You can also consult Feedback provided by previous guests and, when you have stayed in one of our apartments, provide your own feedback either directly to the Blog or by contacting me.
I look forward to doing my best to answer any of your questions about Paris and our apartments.

Why the Owner Chose Paris Arrondissement 4: 2-person studio with timber beams, south facing French windows, minimalist decoration and furnishings and a smart kitchen corner. Great location, great price.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment: Wake up to the sound of the early morning church bells, stand at the French window looking across at the clock tower and realise you are on a little island in the Seine in the heart of Paris, then pop downstairs to Madame Martins' boulangerie for a baguette or croissant to have with your cafe ....
