About the owner: We are two brothers and a sister who purchased this camp in 2012.
Why the Owner Chose Westport: While we no longer live in New York state, we all have roots in New York and the Adirondacks. We grew up in New York state and two generations of Augusts attended camp in the Lake Placid area. We have spent many happy summers with our families in Westport, New York swimming and boating in the lake, hiking in the Adirondack mountains, and enjoying the 'laid-back' pace of this beautiful part of New York.
The Unique Benefits at this Estate: This camp is an ideal location for a family reunion. Located on Lake Champlain, the camp sleeps 15 and
the cottage, which also can be rented, sleeps up to 7.
The camp is located in the Adirondack State Park, a pristine 'six-million-acre civilized wilderness' that is 'larger than Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Great Smokies and Yosemite national parks combined. The Park is a haven for outdoor recreation. The lake is a perfect place for motorboats, sailboats, kayaks, canoes and paddle boarding; the Adirondack mountains have hundreds of miles of hiking trails. There are two local golf courses. At the many towns in the park, it is easy to find excellent local cuisine, and shop for antiques, art, and local crafts. All summer there are farmer's markets, art shows, and theater and music 'happenings'.
