Lake arrowhead, only 20 minutes away, has a sandy beach for swimming. Other nearby activities include zip lining and horseback riding. In the evening, enjoy cooking hotdogs and smores on the outdoor fire pit. In the winter months, Bryce and massanutten ski resorts are about an hour away.
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: My husband I are both teachers who moved to Virginia from Maryland about 11 years ago.
Why the Owner Chose Luray: We love the quiet and beauty of the Shenandoah Valley. We were fortunate enough to find this property right on the river where we could build our own cabin. Nothing beats having the Shenandoah River right out your front door.
The Unique Benefits at this House: We can swim, fish and canoe right from the house. Evening campfires overlooking the river are the perfect way to spend an evening after a day in the water. There is plenty to do without leaving the house.
