A great place for a large family gathering. 12-15 minutes from downtown and ASU is more accurate but not really an issue for us.

A great family getaway that was over much too soon. Our 5 little boys (Colt 8, Brice 5, Caleb 4, Latham 3, and Jake 10 months) loved spending the weekend at this mountain house. We enjoyed watching the trout in the river and exporing the rocks. Our days at Linville Caverns and Grandfather were filled with excitement and perfect weather. Special thanks to Grandma and Pa for planning this 2nd annual fall trip. The house was very spacious and perfect for our families. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We hope to make it back to the Boone/Blowing Rock area again very soon. The Dixon's - Joan & Jesse (Grandma & Pa)David, Crystal, Colt, Caleb, Brian, Michelle, Brice, Latham, and Jake

Majestic mountains surround us; Beautiful waters flow beside us. Peace and tranquility reside within us. O, Wounded Fork, do not cry for us, For God's love and beauty have filled us. We prepare to leave at the end of our stay here and I wish we could remain. It rained almost every day we were here, but we managed to play in the creek, ride horses and Dutch Creek Stables, went to Grandfather Mountain, whitewater rafting on the Watauga, trout fishing at Grandfather Trout farm (and gem mining), visited Linville Caverns, and decided not to eat at Pssghettis's as it was a 2 hour wait without reservations. All in all it was a wonderful trip andI would visit again. Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. It was great for 11 people and two families.

We had a great time here at Wounded Fork cabin. We wore ourselves out hiking at Grandfather Mountain, hiking again at Hebron Falls, looking for a swimming hole, horse back riding, white water rafting, gem mining, trout fishing, and touring the Linville Caverns. Most of all we enjoyed family time together! Nothing like siblings doing a joint vacation with their families. The cabin accomodated all 11 of us nicely. The jacuzzi was great after all those hikes. The sound of the creek out back is very soothing. Even though we had a lot of rain, we made the best of it. The cousins even made up skits to perform for us on the last day because of the rain. BTW from the cabin to Shulls Mill Road is almost 1 mile (.95) for those who like to walk you can get a nice two mile walk in by going to that stop sign and back

As an aspiring fashion designer, these woods gave me many an inspiration. Whether it be a religious understanding or a new design for a party dress, you should know that you can definitely count on these woods to inspire you. This is my last day here with our group of 11 people. My aunt & uncle, mom and dad, 4 cousins and my bro and sis. Tips 4 vacation: Where to get the best jam: Linville Caverns Gift Shop - I'd recommend Black Raspberry Preserves Edge of the World whitewater rafting is awesome. The guides are so crazy and funny! They dunked my cousin, Austin in the water - LOL! Candy Barrel - barrel of fun Trout fishing at the farm was fun - they also have a gem mine. A 14 year old girl & aspiring fashion designer

We had a wonderful time here at the Wounded Fork. We all snowboarded for the first time - wow, that's hard - some of us switched to skiing - others gave up. We really enjoyed the hot tub - thank you so much for that! The view is incredible - we woke up Friday morning and the creek was frozen! Thank you for sharing your house

We thoroughly enjoyed making new memories with our family.l We snow tubed for the first time ever at Hawksnest. Perfect weather conditions on Sunday. Our boys enjoyed hiking around the property. The main living area was perfect for good food, watching football and congregating together as a family. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time. This is a beautiful house! We enjoyed the jacuzzi, very relaxing. We came here to get away for the weekend so we could relax before we all went back to work, and that's exactly what we did! Your house is very cozy and comforting and we hope to come back. Thanks!

We had a great time in Wounded Fork. The view is fantastic. The cabin was in great condition. We went down to the river and tried crossing it but the water was too cold. We rented the house to have a different vacation. We went to the Appalachian Mountain and they snow boarded. We vistited everything! It was extremely cold.

We enjoyed our stay at Wounded Fork cabin. Our families came mto relax and enjoy each others company before the hectic holiday season! Our boys enjoyed "shooting" the bears, turkeys and lions off the deck. The place was definitely big enough for all of us! The house needs a CD player, otherwise we had a great time. Thanks

Your cabin is fantastic. Wish we didn't ever have to leave. Our family rented it for a wedding for our nephew and his new wife at Grandfather Mountain. We had a great time seeing all the family together again. We hiked and saw some nice trout in the streams. Some wild turkeys on the road. We also saw the aligators at the crossing!! We have decided to do this once a year. Since we lost both our mom and dad, we know we can still keep our family together doing exactly what we did renting your cabin. We will now do it every year. Thanks again!

We were so blessed to find this cabin for the Highland Games on Grandfather Mountain. It stirred up our memories of the WV mountains where the family grew up. Our family of four children were all with us with their children. The cabin was just right for our large family group. As our family grows we will need an even bigger cabin - we hope!

God has truly blessed us here at Wounded Fork! This is the most peaceful and beautiful place I have ever been to. The river really sets it all in place. We were greeted by three bucks our first day here at the river. We could see the fish in the river from up here on the deck. It was a treat watching the birds and squirrels at the bird feeder. I saw a chipmonk. My brother in law saw a wild turkey while walking, and a beaver crossing the road. Most of all I found such a peaceful place, down at the river there was a tree that hung over the rocks. I was able to sit there and soak up all of the blessings.
