We stayed for 1 week at the row house in April. We particularly wanted a central location with somewhere to dump the car and explore Charleston on foot. The house is very well decorated and cozy and suited us very nicely. We were paticulalry impressed with the owner, Mari, who really couldn't do enough to help us. Overall we would thoroughly recommend the house.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed for three nights - very clean and comfortable and well-equipped, if cozy, unit - nice kitchenette, two good flat panel TVs, cable service, wireless internet, etc. Great location - a block or two over to King, one block down from Market, close to CofC. The owners were very helpful and are local and also available via phone for any questions.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We stayed at 9 West for 4 weeks in early 2013 to escape winter, and came to love it. Altho small, it is nicely furnished & charming. We liked it's location: close to King St & our favorite restaurant, Fulton Five, but removed from the teaming throngs. A cozy, serene little refuge. The absolute BEST part of the whole experience was the fantastic service & genuine kindnesses we received from Kit (the owner) & her delightful assistant, Judy. They were so helpful & attentive & responsive. We became fast friends. Kit can provide bikes, which we recommend you do for exploring the historic district without exhausting yourself. And, of course, historic Charleston has so much to offer: history, gracious homes, culture & class, and hospitable, friendly people. It beats Florida any day as a winter get-away destination.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Row House this March. We had stayed in Kit's other property (the studio downtown) for a few days before the Row House, and we enjoyed this property a lot too! There is a small kitchen area which has everything you could need for a vacation rental - a sink (with all the cleaning tools you would need), a small fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, dishes/silverware, etc. We didn't do any real cooking, but there was a small counter range with 2 burners should you need it. There is a flat screen TV on the downstairs level, two chairs to sit and watch from, as well as a small table with two small seats you could eat at. Upstairs, there is a big bed, a bathroom and another flat screen TV. The bathroom has an amazing shower in it with a regular shower head AND a "rain water" shower head on the ceiling - very cool touch. There are some built in shelves next to your sink that allows you to store some toiletries. While we didn't find this neighborhood too noisy at night, there was a white noise machine next to the bed should you need it. The block is relatively quiet, but just a quick 2 minute walk gets you to bustling King Street. There is access to a small parking lot at this property, but we were able to walk everywhere (or grab the free bus that goes around Charleston by walking 3 blocks). The property is beautifully decorated and it was very clean and well organized. The owner (and the women who work for her) really want to make sure you have a great time, and they went out of their way to help us move our suitcases from the studio to the Row House and help us get to see everything we wanted to while in Charleston. I would highly recommend this property if you are coming to Charleston.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
