Location, location, location---! Why pay more when we are just as close as those listed as 'Ski in/Ski out'?
Warmly decorated in mountain style with a sunny, southwest exposure, this cosy, smoke-free condominium is less than 200 yards from the Quicksilver Hi-speed ski lift and from the Ski Center offering lessons, ski storage, child care, medical care, restaurants, ice skating and more. The National Forest Land and Blue River are also at your doorstep, great for fishing and hiking in the summer. Adjacent to the condo, the private, Columbine Association heated pool and hot tubs are free to my guests and open for both the Winter and Summer seasons. Motherlode B-5 is on the second floor of a 12 condo, 3 story building. Each condo is a corner unit with two exposures.
I have recently put in new Queen beds and Queen sleeper sofa, all new kitchen appliances, a new water heater, all new carpeting and flooring and up-graded the two bathrooms. There is also Hi-speed and WiFi.
It's just one block from beautiful, historic downtown Breckenridge with all its wonderful shops and restaurants. If you prefer not to walk, the FREE shuttle picks you [and your skis] up near the condominium and takes you to all the ski lifts and all around town. It connects with the Summit Stage which will take you to all three other 'world class' ski resorts, [ Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, and Copper Mountain] and to the surrounding towns --outlet malls, {for the non-skiers} more restaurants and stores.
A car really is not necessary but there is ample off-street parking at the condo. I can supply you with discount lift ticket information [good for 6 resorts] and with 40% DISCOUNT 'ski/snowboard rental' coupons.
Breck is equally enchanting Winter or Summer. After an active day on the slopes or hiking, biking, fishing, etc., come home to a relaxing soak in one of the four large hot tubs- two in, two out, or the outdoor heated pool @83-87 degrees. These are open from the Nov. ski season opening through Easter closing; again Memorial Day through Labor Day. The sauna is always open. Afterwards, go back to your condo and enjoy a blazing wood fire, grill on the balcony, or just cook up a feast in your fully equipped kitchen.
If you want more excitement, stroll into town and browse the shops and dine at one of the many excellent restaurants housed in the charming Victorian buildings. Back at the condo, there is cable TV in every room, 1 VCR, 3 DVD players, a Stereo CD player, [bring your favorite CD's to enjoy in front of the fire] all sorts of books [including children's] games, puzzles, and videos.
The Master Bedroom, connecting bath, and large walk-in closet close off to give great privacy. It contains a new Queen bed and twin beds [trundle-the kids LOVE them!]. The second bedroom has a new Queen bed, and a bath across the hall [both baths have hairdryers and both bedrooms have humidifiers] and the living room has a new, very comfortable, Queen sleeper sofa.
There is a closet for ski storage in the entryway.
Credit cards are accepted through PayPal, there is a 3% domestic and a 4% foreign fee [paid by you]. If you pay through your BANK acct.at PayPal and click 'PERSONAL' and 'GIFT', it is FREE.
Personal checks are fine with me.
We stay in this condo ourselves so it's clean, attractive and we try to anticipate what you would want to have to make it as comfortable [and CLEAN!] as home. Come see for yourselves and enjoy our incredible mountain scenery, the winter snow, and the summer wildflowers and temperatures in the low 70's.
The consensus of the remarks in my guest book seems to run, 'Your condo was perfect, the location was ideal, we walked everywhere! We hated to leave, thanks for letting us stay.'

We enjoyed our stay as the Condo was very comfortable, clean, and easy to get to the lifts. The unit was very comfortable, well-stocked with cooking items, and everything worked! Wood burning fireplace and the way it was decorated made it a very "cozy" place for our family.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

My husband and I love this place! It is our number one destination when we visit Breckenridge. We have stayed in this condo three times, and each time we enjoy it more and more. Our three year old daughter even calls it "our condo" -- it reallly does feel like home. It is spacious enough for two couples with small children. The master bedroom has a perfect little bed for a little one and the second bedroom has enough room on the floor for a pack n play for an air mattress. We enjoy cooking dinner and eating around the big kitchen table -- then clearing it off to play some games. We have also used the BBQ grill on the patio and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Everything is in walking distance when we're ready to hit the town -- slopes, shops, restaurants, bars, and even the children's museum. Last but not least, the pool and hot tubs are an added bonus. The owner is incredibly gracious and helpful. She has everything labeled and easy to find -- and gives tips and suggestions for getting around town. Overall, this condo in Motherlode is a charming retreat, an escape from the busy city life, and a home away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I am really vexed you have had a bad review.We found the condo really homey and cosy and enjoyed cosying up in front of the fire most nights. It was incredibly handy and so close to the ski school and Charter rentals and we loved eating out at Mi Casa a happy stroll away! The condo was clean and if we hadn't been so lazy,we could have cooked with everything left in the cupboards. Plz don't feel bad. Of all the places we looked at before we booked, yours had the most positive reviews and was so reasonably priced. I hope we come back to Breckenridge soon but coming from Scotland, it has cost us quite a bit in flights, etc. but if you ever want to visit Scotland, plz get in touch. First the good things: the owner is wonderful, and very helpful. it's a great location--can walk to town, walk to slopes, etc. But a few negatives are in order: the apt is very dark--the pictures are misleading that way. and it needs updating. there was a mystery stain on the rug in one bedroom. the pillows, furniture, utensils, etc are the cheapest possible. This place was great for my son and I, but my wife would have been disappointed had she been able to join us. We didn't find it comfortable to sit and read anywhere, but with all the brewpubs we didn't stay there much anyway. Charter Sports is A+; thanks to the owner for hooking us up. Bottom line: if you aren't looking for a romantic getaway, I recommend this condo. But if you are hoping for a charming retreat to go with your mate, I don't think this fits the billRecommended for: Tourists without a car.
Owner response: I guess one bad review after 80 good ones is a good percentage---but it hurts! PLEASE READ SOME OF THE OTHER REVIEWS, TOO. I can't understand why he said it was dark and not like the pictures--my condo has exposure on 2 sides and, with all the light woodwork, is lighter than most. Other reviewers say it's exactly like the pictures in the ad. However, when I phoned the next incoming guest to greet him, he mentioned that a lamp bulb was burned out , which HE replaced, maybe that made the place dark [it was simple to remedy.] I'm not surprised if the carpet needs cleaning by now, but the condo has been booked solidly all season without a 2 night stretch in which the carpet could have been cleaned and dried. Now that the season is ending, is when it gets it's Spring cleaning. What bothers me the most is his saying that everything is of "cheap quality". That's patently untrue--everything is attractive and of a very good quality! I take pride in keeping it nice even though my prices are moderate. The bedrooms all Ralph Lauren and the LR and DR furniture has all been recovered in the last one and two years with what I think is great fabric! My kitchen appliances were replaced 3 years ago and even my stoneware dishes, I have recently found out when trying buy extras, are now collectibles. I don't find granite and chrome and stainless steel to my liking or in keeping with this mountain condo among the pine trees, if that's what's being referred to as "updating". I spend a lot of time in my condo off-season and I, and others, have always found it very homey and comfortable for sitting around reading by the fire or in bed.

My family of 4 stayed at this condo just last week. We enjoyed it very much. Everything we needed was there. It is located conveniently to walking distance to slopes, shopping and dining. If you use Charter Rentals located by the Mariott and just steps away from Quick Silver lift, it is as good as ski-in/ski-out. The cost is very reasonable for this condo and the size. Betsy is very easy to deal with. What a gem we found in Betsy's condo. So close to town and the lifts. This place exceeded all our expectations. The next time we ski Breckenridge we will book her place again. This condo was exactly as described. It was within walking distance of the Lift so we didn't really need our car going to the Mountain. Price was MUCH better than a Ski In/Ski Out. This condo had everything we needed and the Owner was very considerate and made sure that our stay was a great experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking!Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

The unit is exactly as described in the ad. No surprises. We had 7 young adults (mid 20's) in our group and we all slept comfortably. The owner was a breeze to work with. She answered all our questions and booking the unit with her couldn't have been easier! While the bus stop close by the unit was nice the unit is easily in walking distance to everything on Main Street. We found ourselves walking more often than not to the shops/bars/restaurants at night. For anyone looking for some killer pizza, Northside Pizza on main street is incredible! Additionally it was great to be so close to the Quiksilver lift. It's no more than a 5 minute walk. Overall, the unit fit the bill perfectly and the price was unbeatable. We had a great time and we would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Wonderful two bdroom, nice kitchen and clean throughout. Betsy is a awesome and will do whatever it takes to make you comfortable. Short walk to slopes and charter rental is a great location, just store your rental equipment when finished. I would recommend this property to family and friends. I absolutely recommend this place to stay if you want a home away from home in Breckenridge. The owner has taken the time to outfit her condo with ALL the things you could possibly need for your vacation. The description was very accurate and there were no surprises! It is so close to the mountain, and Main Street, it is perfect. We also used the ski rental place, Charter Sports, that was recommended, and they were great. We loved the homey feel to the condo with the decorations and attention to detail. It was clean well maintained. We will make this spot our annual trip, as it was my son's first birthday when we went! Thank you so much for a memorable vacation!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Year Purchased: 1989
About the owner: Although my children were all born and raised in the Virgin Islands, three of them discovered the Colorado Rockies, fell in love with them, and moved here. Naturally it wasn't long before I visited them and fell in love, too. Nothing would do but that I buy a place out here for everyone to use. I remembered a perfect little Victorian town and when I went to see Breck in the summer, it was just as perfect as I remembered from the winters, but virtually smothered in flowers. I looked no further! However, as will happen, my children eventually married, moved far away, began having their own children and got on with their young lives--which didn't include vacations for the whole family in the far away Rockies.
Why the Owner Chose Motherlode:
There I was with the perfect vacation location sitting empty most of the year. I just had to share it, so I started renting to guests. From what they tell me and write me, they all love it as much as I. Now, it's rented so much, I have to block out some nights in the summer for me to use and I never am able to use it in the winter. I guess I succeeded too well. Come out to beautiful Breck and see for yourselves if it isn't perfect.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
This location is so ideal. You never need to get out your car or find parking unless you want to go to another town. Even then, you can go almost anywhere in the county on the free bus. There are also free buses all over town and to all the lifts. However, my condo is right next to the Quicksilver Lift and Ski Center and to Main St. and all it has to offer. In the winter there are all sorts of Winter Festivals, and competitions and in the summer there are the outstanding concerts [the Breckenridge Music Festival and NRO], art/antique fairs, Farmer's and World Markets and of course many, many other activities, summer and winter, in this lovely, historic town.
