We enjoyed our stay as the Condo was very comfortable, clean, and easy to get to the lifts. The unit was very comfortable, well-stocked with cooking items, and everything worked! Wood burning fireplace and the way it was decorated made it a very "cozy" place for our family.

Charming Retreat - Escape from the City Life

My husband and I love this place! It is our number one destination when we visit Breckenridge. We have stayed in this condo three times, and each time we enjoy it more and more. Our three year old daughter even calls it "our condo" -- it reallly does feel like home. It is spacious enough for two couples with small children. The master bedroom has a perfect little bed for a little one and the second bedroom has enough room on the floor for a pack n play for an air mattress. We enjoy cooking dinner and eating around the big kitchen table -- then clearing it off to play some games. We have also used the BBQ grill on the patio and enjoy the fresh mountain air. Everything is in walking distance when we're ready to hit the town -- slopes, shops, restaurants, bars, and even the children's museum. Last but not least, the pool and hot tubs are an added bonus. The owner is incredibly gracious and helpful. She has everything labeled and easy to find -- and gives tips and suggestions for getting around town. Overall, this condo in Motherlode is a charming retreat, an escape from the busy city life, and a home away from home.

I am really vexed you have had a bad review.We found the condo really homey and cosy and enjoyed cosying up in front of the fire most nights. It was incredibly handy and so close to the ski school and Charter rentals and we loved eating out at Mi Casa a happy stroll away! The condo was clean and if we hadn't been so lazy,we could have cooked with everything left in the cupboards. Plz don't feel bad. Of all the places we looked at before we booked, yours had the most positive reviews and was so reasonably priced. I hope we come back to Breckenridge soon but coming from Scotland, it has cost us quite a bit in flights, etc. but if you ever want to visit Scotland, plz get in touch. Best Wishes

First the good things: the owner is wonderful, and very helpful. it's a great location--can walk to town, walk to slopes, etc. But a few negatives are in order: the apt is very dark--the pictures are misleading that way. and it needs updating. there was a mystery stain on the rug in one bedroom. the pillows, furniture, utensils, etc are the cheapest possible. This place was great for my son and I, but my wife would have been disappointed had she been able to join us. We didn't find it comfortable to sit and read anywhere, but with all the brewpubs we didn't stay there much anyway. Charter Sports is A+; thanks to the owner for hooking us up. Bottom line: if you aren't looking for a romantic getaway, I recommend this condo. But if you are hoping for a charming retreat to go with your mate, I don't think this fits the bill

Owner response: I guess one bad review after 80 good ones is a good percentage---but it hurts! PLEASE READ SOME OF THE OTHER REVIEWS, TOO. I can't understand why he said it was dark and not like the pictures--my condo has exposure on 2 sides and, with all the light woodwork, is lighter than most. Other reviewers say it's exactly like the pictures in the ad. However, when I phoned the next incoming guest to greet him, he mentioned that a lamp bulb was burned out , which HE replaced, maybe that made the place dark [it was simple to remedy.] I'm not surprised if the carpet needs cleaning by now, but the condo has been booked solidly all season without a 2 night stretch in which the carpet could have been cleaned and dried. Now that the season is ending, is when it gets it's Spring cleaning. What bothers me the most is his saying that everything is of "cheap quality". That's patently untrue--everything is attractive and of a very good quality! I take pride in keeping it nice even though my prices are moderate. The bedrooms all Ralph Lauren and the LR and DR furniture has all been recovered in the last one and two years with what I think is great fabric! My kitchen appliances were replaced 3 years ago and even my stoneware dishes, I have recently found out when trying buy extras, are now collectibles. I don't find granite and chrome and stainless steel to my liking or in keeping with this mountain condo among the pine trees, if that's what's being referred to as "updating". I spend a lot of time in my condo off-season and I, and others, have always found it very homey and comfortable for sitting around reading by the fire or in bed.

My family of 4 stayed at this condo just last week. We enjoyed it very much. Everything we needed was there. It is located conveniently to walking distance to slopes, shopping and dining. If you use Charter Rentals located by the Mariott and just steps away from Quick Silver lift, it is as good as ski-in/ski-out. The cost is very reasonable for this condo and the size. Betsy is very easy to deal with. Again thanks Betsy for the use of your condo!

Beautiful Condo! As Described!

This condo was exactly as described. It was within walking distance of the Lift so we didn't really need our car going to the Mountain. Price was MUCH better than a Ski In/Ski Out. This condo had everything we needed and the Owner was very considerate and made sure that our stay was a great experience. I would recommend this to anyone looking!

The unit is exactly as described in the ad. No surprises. We had 7 young adults (mid 20's) in our group and we all slept comfortably. The owner was a breeze to work with. She answered all our questions and booking the unit with her couldn't have been easier! While the bus stop close by the unit was nice the unit is easily in walking distance to everything on Main Street. We found ourselves walking more often than not to the shops/bars/restaurants at night. For anyone looking for some killer pizza, Northside Pizza on main street is incredible! Additionally it was great to be so close to the Quiksilver lift. It's no more than a 5 minute walk. Overall, the unit fit the bill perfectly and the price was unbeatable. We had a great time and we would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful two bdroom, nice kitchen and clean throughout. Betsy is a awesome and will do whatever it takes to make you comfortable. Short walk to slopes and charter rental is a great location, just store your rental equipment when finished. I would recommend this property to family and friends. It is very affordable and you wouldn't be disappointed!!

I absolutely recommend this place to stay if you want a home away from home in Breckenridge. The owner has taken the time to outfit her condo with ALL the things you could possibly need for your vacation. The description was very accurate and there were no surprises! It is so close to the mountain, and Main Street, it is perfect. We also used the ski rental place, Charter Sports, that was recommended, and they were great. We loved the homey feel to the condo with the decorations and attention to detail. It was clean well maintained. We will make this spot our annual trip, as it was my son's first birthday when we went! Thank you so much for a memorable vacation!

Excellent Stay in Breck

This was our first visit to Breckenridge and feel very fortunate to have found Betsy's place to stay. We chose the ski rental location of Charter Sports which Betsy provided a 40% off coupon. It was less than a 5 minute walk from the condo. They allow you to leave the equipment at the shop each day after skiing which made the walk to and from easy. From the rental shop, the Quicksilver lift is only steps away. There are restaurants within walking distance and the Main street shopping and dining area is only a 10 minute stroll. We were amazed at how quiet the condo complex was. The wood burning fireplace & hot tubs were a highlight each day after skiing. We stopped for groceries (and firewood!) on the way into town and never had to get back in the car during our stay. The only negative to point out was the very slow speed internet but Betsy called during our stay and informed us that the complex is working on installing antennas to improve the speed so it is likely that this will be resolved by the time anyone reads this. You really cannot go wrong with Betsy's condo as it is quiet, convenient, clean, comfortable at a reasonable price.

Great place to stay within walking distance to the Quicksilver Lift. Condo is just like the description and the pictures on the website. Betsy is a great person to work with and is quick to repond to emails. She called our first night there to make sure everything was ok and I know if we had any issues she would have taken care of them quickly. 5th Stay at Motherlode

I am finally getting around to commenting on my visits to the Motherlode. I just finished my 5th week staying at Motherlode B-5. Three different weeks in 2010 and in February and March of 2011. I will be there for spring skiing in April. What can I say, I stay there 3 weeks every winter because I enjoy the warmth and convenience. It is a wonderful condo with all of the amenities and so close to everything. You have every necessity for cooking in the condo, great pots and pans, all of the necessary utensils, a great gas grill on the balcony, and even a fondue pot. The owner upgraded the bathrooms with new shower doors and shower heads, making for a very pleasant shower experience. Three adults shower in the same time frame with plenty of hot water. You can walk to town and walk to the ski lifts. If someone wants to quit skiing early, it is only a 5 minute walk home. Some skiers come in for lunch. In the morning I walk to the nearby convenience store and pick up the newspaper, and an occasional boutique coffee. The skating rink is just 3-4 blocks away and the tennis complex is about 6 blocks. Upon arrival the condo is spotless with a bundle of firewood by the fireplace, coffee, parking pass, and discount coupons all on the kitchen counter. The pool/hot tub complex is just a short walk and always very nice. There are both inside and outside hot tubs, and the pool is inviting with its own hot tub. I have never used the sauna, but it is attractive. I stayed for 3 days in September of 2010 and had a wonderful time. If you can get out to Breckenridge in the fall months, it is a great experience. I would like to stay for Oktoberfest when it is available. This is a very nice condo with all of the amenities and a great location. Would I stay again? I plan to book for 3 weeks again next year.

Exceptional Value and Great Location

First, I'll comment that the listing description and previous comments are very accurate. Betsy provided the best customer service I have ever experienced through a VRBO rental (thank you!). A couple great surprises: parking was easy, the walk to the slopes felt much shorter than described, the fireplace was ideal and used nightly and we walked to downtown shopping in Breck in 20 degree weather and snow without issue. Only one caution (and why we didn't give it 5 stars): it was tight quarters for six adults. Not a reason to stay away, just understand you're giving up a little space for a phenomenal price and owner interaction. We would definitely consider staying here again (even with six adults) and would recommend the property to friends.

Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Owner response: My condo actually sleeps 8 including the good sofa bed, but I'm sure it's more comfortable if some of the 8 are kids, it is just 2 bedrooms and baths and a "great room"!

This condo is fantastic! My family has stayed here for the last two Thanksgivings and then a few other times during the year! We have had up to 8 people sleeping comfortably here! You can literally walk to everything! But if you don't want to walk there is the bus just one block up the street! Ms. Betsy has the place full of everything that you could possibly need, I even cook Thanksgiving dinner there. The hot tubs are right out the back door and we literally walk less than a block and are on the base of Peak 9. I would recommend this place to anyone, and have!! Book with confidence.... best deal in Breck!

The condo was perfect for our family of 4 (kids ages 11 and 14). It was our first time in Breckenridge, and we had a blast! We rode horses, went whitewater rafting, hiking, ice skating, and mountain biking, and took a day trip up to Rocky Mountain National Park. It was so convenient to have the condo as a base, with a short walk to town. Betsy's tips posted around the condo were so very helpful, and the kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking meals. We hope to return again some day!

Went with a group trying to do a budget trip. All 8 of is fit well. The slopes are a small walk but nothing significant. We had a great time and the rooms worked out well.

Just As Advertised!

My family of four found the condo to be very clean and comfortable. Our college age twosome made it a point to hit the hot tub area every evening (hmm, I surmise it may have had something to do with meeting some fellow ski vacationers of the opposite sex but I was never completely let in on the secret). The owner does an excellent job in providing tips and guidance before and during the trip which really helped save time and confusion. Using the Charter Rentals store (just down the street between the condo and the big Quicksilver lift) for renting and storing our ski equipment was a major convenience, not to mention a help in saving already tired muscles for the quick walk back up to the condo. We walked to town for our meals and shopping. All in all the verdict was unanimous: a memorable, enjoyable trip to a wonderful town enhanced completely by a very friendly owner with such nice accommodations!

What a great way to spend New Year's. The owner is so knowledgeable and helpful. The condo itself is roomy, exceptionally well stocked and has comfy beds. There is a shuttle bus close by but we ended up walking everywhere - the slopes, ski rental on peak 9 and Main St restaurants. The Breckinridge Brewery is so close. I loved it here and would definitely stay at the same place next time around.

The condo was a fantastic place to stay. It was very comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen and roomy enough to fit 6 people. We were a short walk to the ski/snowboard rental shop which is right at the base of the peak 9 lift. This is a GREAT place to stay during ski season and i would stay again.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! We are having a marvelous time. The weather is sensational--clear blue skies with brilliant sunshine. We take a short hike, then lounge by the pool for an hour. Then we head off for the day's "events"--Country Boy gold mine, the delightful shops in Breck and Frisco, the Outlet Stores, rafting, horseback riding, the Alpine Slide and Maze--- Loved your condo, it's absolutely charming. How nice to feel at home in a place so far away. The kids enjoyed the tapes and DVD's as well as the large assortment of books and games. Can't wait to come back! Will definitely request YOUR condo.

We had a wonderful time here.The condo was great and we had 4 really good days of skiing. The condo is really well equipped and we appreciated all of your helpful hints. We enjoyed the pool and hot tubs as well. Thank you.

The heated bathroom fan was exceptional! We really enjoyed our stay. Breck is an awesome town. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

The cozy decorating and extra little touches made us not want to ever leave! We were thrilled there was a wood fireplace and recommend you go downstairs in "C" and try the sauna--that makes the perfect end to a hard day in the snow.

Last night we stayed at Four O'Clock complex---what a dump! How surprised we were when we got here to Motherlode.Your place is so cozy and homey. Thank you so much. Your kitchen was so well furnished we ate almost every meal here! We took care of your condo as if it were our own.

We've tried a new resort every year and can't wait to REPEAT Breck! We walked to the slopes and into town every day. Very convenient and everything you need is right here, thanks to the owner for stocking EVERYTHING so well.

Your condo was a pleasant surprise! The decorations are fabulous and with all the conveniences, it was like being at home and much appreciated. Very cozy indeed! We were very comfortable. The town of Breckenridge was just beautiful with the little white lights [we came in from the airport at night] and in the morning, the snow covered pines and mountains wer just heavenly. COLORADO! I can see what John Denver meant! Hope to come back to Motherlode. The only things missing were our dogs.

The Motherlode was the greatest place we could lay our heads in Breckenridge. Great days of skiing and many nights of sitting around the huge table playing cards and Uno.

Had a great stay, just what we needed. Condo was perfect for a family of 4. Kids loved the hot tubs[of course!] Skiing was great--blue skies--perfect snow.

We had 4 beautiful days of skiing. Bright blue skies at Breck, Vail, and Keystone. Your condo has been just perfect for our family, it's so warm and comfortable, charming and easy to use. You should see how beautiful and charming Breck is covered with snow and greenery and lights twinkling on every shop and cottage. May, many thanks---we would like to return sometime.
