We started vacationing in Hilton Head eight years ago. Since that first trip, we've vacationed on the island at least once a year, every year since.
While we've stayed in a number of different types of rentals in a number of different areas of the island, we've always come back to Evian on Shipyard--Shipyard Plantation is a quiet, gated, residential "village", centrally located on the island.
Obviously we liked it so much that we can now enjoy our own Evian villa--we hope you will enjoy it,too.
We enjoy Shipyard because of it's easy access to the beach, tennis, affordable golf, restaurants and shopping--and it's lack of congestion!
We enjoy Evian because the condominium units, French in design, are so well spread out from each other and are nestled among wooded areas, subtropical flowers, and along a golf course--a wonderful combination of beauty and privacy.
Our villa is an end-unit, on the golf course fairway, and on the second (top) floor--a benefit which offers cathedral ceilings and no noisy footsteps above.
Our two bedroom, two bath villa, which sleeps four, has just recently been totally renovated. The kitchen has all new cupboards and appliances, including a dishwasher; it is fully stocked.
The dining area seats six and leads to a private deck; one portion of the deck is covered with an awning while the other is wide open to the beautiful Carolina sunshine.
The living room features a fireplace and wet bar. It also contains a TV, DVD player, and CD player; we've also included multiple board games for family enjoyment.
The living room, dining room, and kitchen are decorated in a classical contemporary design. Our condo has both central air-conditioning and ceiling fans.
The master bedroom, decorated with white bead-board furniture, features a king-sized bed and private bathroom. The second bedroom has two twin beds; there is also a second bathroom.
Both bedrooms are newly carpeted. The master bedroom has a TV. Our villa also features an oversized clothes washer and dryer.
We have the villa professional cleaned for you prior to your stay. The beds will have fresh linens and towels will be provided for your convenience.
Evian is ideally located. Within three minutes by car, you can be drinking a fresh cup of coffee, shopping at the grocery store, and enjoying the local flavor of HHI.
A fifteen minute drive will bring you to extensive outlet shopping. What we enjoy most, though, is the clean white sand of the local beach which has a public life guard and a new changing/rest room facility.
Parking is available at the beach if you want to drive the one and a half miles to the beach; bicycle stands are also available. (Bike rentals are extremely affordable, with bikes delivered and picked up right in front of the condo.)
In addition to biking to the beach, you can bike on the beach--the sand is so hardpacked near the water you can actually bike on the beach which goes for miles. Extensive bike paths wind throughout HHI. Evian also features lagoons for fishing and enjoying the native wildlife.
