Tiger Tail beach is just down the road. Farmers market is walking distance from this house. The other way down the sidewalk is Joey's pizza and more restaurants. This house is in a wonderful location right off the main road as you come in. To get to it you must drive past it and U turn back to it since there are palm trees in the median. ...moreless

This was the perfect house at the right price for our family of 5. Spotless and comfortable without being pretentious. Location was great, within walking distance of Winn Dixie and other "must have" stores like CVS, and only a short drive (or longer walk) to Tigertail Beach. Priscilla & Mark (owners) were extremely attentive, checking in with us on day of arrival to ensure all was in order. Rental property is well organized, from fully stocked kitchen to closets with plenty of towels, blankets, etc. Notes also throughout house explaining details around trash pickup, how to use washer/dryer, when to expect pool attendant, etc to ensure no surprises. House has ample room to spare for family of 5 with 3 bathrooms, large, newly renovated kitchen (did I say spotless already?), 2 large flat screen TV's. and remotely located family room to provide privacy for the kids. Lanai/Pool area have eastern exposure so lots of sun in morning and through midday. In afternoon/evening, windows on opposite side of house allow plenty of sunlight from west, so always bright and cheerful. Pool was very clean upon arrival and well maintained. We will be back when we return to Marco!

Outstanding Home and Owners
Outstanding Home and Owners
Everything about our experience with this vacation property was outstanding. The owners, Marc and Priscilla were responsive and easy to work with in the booking. They happened to be on the island the same week that we were there, so we got very personalized service upon our arrival and throughout the week. The home was exceptionally clean and the layout was perfect for our family. Beds were very comfortable as was the other furniture in the home. The newly remodeled kitchen was great and we enjoyed making a number of home cooked meals during our stay. Every possible appliance, pan, dish, etc. that you could want was provided. The pool was very clean and refreshing during the heat of July. We did have a lot of rain the week we were at Marco, so we also spent a lot of time enjoying the covered portion of the lainai to play cards, eat meals, etc. We fished from the dock out back and were successful in catching a number of sheephead fish, which the kids enjoyed enormously. The home is walking distance to many things (several grocery stores, Starbucks, restaurants, etc.) and the beach is accessible by a fairly short bike ride (look for access with bike racks at the far end of resident's beach) or by driving a short distance and parking in one of the local lots for about $8 per day. Some great golf courses and restaurants in the area as well as movie theatre & shopping (Miromar Outlets are only about 30 minutes away and there is a great Bells Outlet and lots of boutique type shops on Marco itself). Boat rental is also available nearby although we did not get to take advantage on this trip due to the weather. With the exception of the weather not always cooperating, everything else about this vacation experience was excellent. Many thanks again to Marc and Priscilla for their personal touch and for sharing their vacation home with us!

Owner response: Monique & Family, We are very happy you had a great vacation, even with all the rain. Getting to spend July 4th with you and your family was a special time for us. Glad to hear the fishing, golf & shopping was fun for all. We set our place up as if we were living there so it has everything you could need or want. You can even rent bikes on the Island for your weekly stay, which is fun. We hope you have a chance in the future to visit Marco again and stay at our home. May God Bless you ALL.
A Great Family Vacation at the Marco House
A Great Family Vacation at the Marco House
The location of this home is perfect. We stayed there for one week with a two year old and an 8 month old and it was within perfect walking distance to the Esplanade (Starbucks, Grocery Store, Ice Cream Shops etc.) The house was clean and well kept. Everything we needed in the kitchen was available and new. The layout of the house could easily hold a large number of guests or even two families. The pool was perfect and the outdoor dining area was exactly what we needed to dine outdoors for the entire week. The kitchen window opens up to a shelf so you can pass things from outside into the kitchen very easily. We watched a beautiful sunrise over the pool and canal each morning. We would not recommend Tigertail Beach for small children if you are wanting an ocean experience as you have to walk through very deep water to get to the ocean front. Not practical with small children, but South Marco Beach was a great place for sunsets and beach activities. Overall this house met our expectations with our booking and the owners were great to deal with. Very helpful! I would recommend this home to anyone travelling in the Marco Island area.

Owner response: We are very pleased Lyndsay, that you and your family had a great time on Marco Island and our home. We also like the ideal that the house is in walking distance to the Esplanade. We are remodeling the kitchen in May, 2013 which we will keep the pass through window in the kitchen to the screened in lanai. The house is big enough for 8 people to stay in. Great to have the extra room when you have children. South Marco beach is so beautiful. Love the sunsets in the evening. Thank you for being great renters. God Bless you and your family.
Loved everything about Marco Island. Great house rental.

Owner response: Thank you Cheryl for being a great renter. We also love Marco Island. The house is walking distance to a lot of little shops and restaurants. We are remodeling our kitchen in May, 2013. This will be a great addition to the home along with the heated pool and the view of the canal. God Bless.
Nice house in a great location
Nice house in a great location
My husband son and I really enjoyed our week in this Marco Island home. The house is clean, well furnished and has everything that you need. The beds were very comfortable and the two family spaces meant that I didn't have to watch sports in the evenings with the boys! The pool is large and in the sun most of the day. The owners were very helpful both in communicating beforehand and having a helpful manual in the house. They also emailed when we got there to make sure everything was ok. The sunrises over the water were beautiful (jet lag!) and eating in the lanai with that view was a pleasure. One of the best things for us was the location, it was really easy to find and within a 10 minute walk of shops and restaurants. We already knew CJ's on the bay and it was nice to be able to walk there. We also walked to Tigertail Beach. We would recommend this house to anyone and would go back ourselves if we weren't in the process of buying our own house in Naples. Thank you Marc and Priscilla we had a great time.

Owner response: Thank you Clive and Annette! We are so happy you had a great visit and enjoyed the location of our place within walking distance to Tigertail and all the shops close by. We too love the house and its pool with the long water views. Just recently one of our renters saw dolphins off our dock as they were swimming in the pool. The house with it's living room and family room make it comfortable for families. God bless you guys and your new home in Naples!! Marc and Priscilla

Owner response: We are so happy that you enjoyed our house. The location makes it a fun place to stay and get to many different restaurants and just a short way to the beach. We hope you fell in love with Marco as we did. It doesn't hurt to wake up to a beautiful view as you look out over the heated pool to the water. Thanks for staying in our house. About the owner: My wife and I have six kids and live in Indiana. I work as a financial consultant. Our family and our faith in Jesus is most important in our lives.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
We fell in love with Marco in 2003. The first time we came over the bridge. So we purchased a condo in Sandcastle, but have wanted the freedom that comes with a house. This one came on the market and had the things we were looking for. The dock, water views, pool, vaulted ceilings, space for the grand kids and a great location.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We all look forward to those wonderful sunsets and the beach environment along with a private pool, but this place also has a great location to walk to get a Starbucks or a late night Ice Cream or maybe groceries at Winn Dixie and a movie at the Red Box.
