We had one of our best family vacations ever at Sea La Vie. We brought our two college-age kids with us for a week of R&R and the house was the perfect backdrop for us to reconnect and unwind. There are new owners and it's obvious they want their guests to feel welcome and at home. The house is meticulously clean, open and airy. The furnishings are pretty and comfortable-- classic Captiva. There are some interesting bonuses like the built-in bunk beds on the second floor that just look so cool, even if you don't need the extra sleeping space. Hammock outside is great for afternoon nap or just taking a break from the sun. Screened-in porch is ideal family dining spot. It is so quick to zip back from pool or beach for a nice lunch or to gather for 'happy hour' before heading to the beach for a sunset. Internet was 100% reliable. The best part is that everything is super accessible but you feel like you're a world away. It is quiet and private but only a 4 minute walk to tennis, pool, beach or to the dock for a glorious sunrise. And less than 5 minutes to the restaurants and shops. Staying here means no worries - everything you could possibly want or need is here and it is relaxed, easy and comfortable.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

I would not hesitate to enthusiastically recommend this house to anyone. It is a great house to stay at in Captiva. The pictures are accurate. The hammock in the yard was great.All the complex amenities are wonderful. The house has a bright feel in terms of decorating which is perfect for a beach house. The beds are all super comfortable. All baths are super clean and nice with upstairs baths being large and both seem to have been recently re done. Of course to anyone who has been there, they already know: Captiva village is great, the beach is terrific. All is easily walkable. That proximity is a major reason why we enjoyed this house so much. Anyone who books this house will be glad they did. We hope to return next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, families with young children, adventure seekers.

Wow - what a fantastic week I had at Sea La Vie on Captiva Island. It was my first time exploring this part of Florida and I can't wait to go back. The weather was gorgeous, the town was charming, and the beach is breath taking. Sea La Vie provides all the comforts of home - a fully functioning kitchen, laundry, TV, WiFi, and central air. It was only a 3 min walk from the house to the sand! It's in a lovely, quiet neighborhood - with very friendly people. I spent my mornings running through the neighborhoods and my evenings watching the sunsets will all the locals. One of the best parts of the location of Sea La Vie is that you can walk to almost everything that you need - the general store, all the key restaurants, and the beach! I can't say enough about this wonderful property and can't wait to return next year!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Being people who work hard, and travel a lot, we wanted a second home where these would be the sort of decisions of the day: Do we make coffee at home and enjoy it at the beach while we watch the egrets, or take a walk and do some shelling at the beach, and then head to Starbucks? Life on Captiva is filled with these types of decisions... Should we relax by the pool while we check emails or go for a bike ride? Have a picnic at the beach or lunch on the porch? Should we play some tennis or do some laps in the pool? Should we walk around the corner and rent a skiff or go on a fishing charter? Should we have a glass of wine on the docks with the pelicans or at the beach while watching the sunset and look for dolphins at play? We found this and more here. Captiva is a heavenly, relaxing place without traffic lights. Sunset Captiva is a perfect place with great amenities. The house is comfortable, bright and terrifically located. We live in Massachusetts for much of the year. This beach house is our second home and we hope our visitors enjoy it as much as we do. When we travel in Europe, we rent houses. We have taken the best and most meaningful ideas from those rentals and have integrated them into your experience when you rent our lovely house.

There is no place like Captiva. Gorgeous beach. Amazing wildlife. Charming village. No traffic lights. Super nice people. Even the drive onto the island gets you into a special spirit. This is a super convenient to everything location on Captiva Island. The house is cheerful, ' very beachy', and comfortable.
