  When we arrived (early), we had driven through Donner Pass chain controls, and the driveway was being cleared from about 2 feet of fresh snow. The location is excellent - about one mile from the 89 / Lake Tahoe intersection (groceries / banking), very close to Granlibakken, and about 15-20 minutes from Alpine Meadows. There is a little sledding hill at the end of the block, and the dogs in the neighborhood seem to see visitors as a social event - big sweet dogs. The cabin appears to have been built as two two bedroom apartments, but is now separated, and a loft bedroom was added over the kitchen (accessible by ladder). The beds were comfortable, and there were plenty of extra blankets and pillows. The game room worked out great for the kids, and the living room is very comfortable. The down sides are that the kitchen appears a bit bigger in the photos, but even so, with the kitchen island, there is plenty of counter space (we were cooking for as many as 20 including visitors). Also, when we were there, the pump to the hot tub died, so we didn't get to sit in it under the snowy skies, but on the positive side, Herb, the owner, was very responsive, and he said that when he fixed it he ordered an extra pump so that the next time it happens he doesn't have to order one to repair it.

  The 640 Rawhide cabin was a delight for me and my friends this weekend. Even though Tahoe didn't have any snow, the hot tub was wonderful, and it was great to build a fire in the fireplace. The cabin provides plenty of towels and dishes, and overall very clean and tidy. There is a fun ropes course just down the street, and skiing was super easy to get to (even though the conditions were not ideal). The only slight downside was some of the beds are old boxsprings, and a little uncomfortable, and the bathroom/showers are a bit small, but definitely not the end of the world. Definitely recommend this cabin if you have a group looking to get away for the weekend.

  Great rental home on the west shore of Lake Tahoe. The spacious and open living areas work great for larger groups (we had a group of friends and couples). There was plenty to keep us occupied with the deck, pool / ping-pong table, and location near Tahoe City. Great house for our weekend trip, and I'm sure we'll be back at some point.

  Second year staying at the cabin for an annual bike ride around tahoe. Great place--accommodates a lot of people, has everything you need in a cabin, and is easy to get to. Will be back next year!

  From the moment I inquired about this property through Herb, I had a good feeling about it, especially knowing this side of Tahoe well and seeing its location on the map. I'm originally from Scotland and was hosting friends who were visiting from there so wanted to ensure they had a great weekend experience in Tahoe. This property was perfect, and could easily have slept way more than the 4 we were, comfortably. Great set-up, awesome deck and views and sweet hot tub! Walking distance to Sunnyside too. Highly recommend - just not on the dates I plan to be back there!

  A group of friends and I rented this home to stay for a long weekend around a Tahoe wedding. The house is great and sleeps quite a few people with two full floors of social space and back decks. The view of the pines and mountains from the back deck is amazing. We'd definitely stay again.

  The house had everything a family or group would need from the ping pong and pool table to the all the right kitchen utensils for making a big dinner. The location was great with trails literally out the front door (turn right out of the driveway and link up with the dirt track at the end of the road). Quiet neighborhood with full pine forest views (and smell) from both decks. Wish we could have stayed longer.

  This house is perfect for multiple families. It has everything from Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, Hot Tub, PS2 for the gamer, Bike Trails with easy access to Tahoe City and best of all the huge deck for BBQing.

  We were two families with our teens and their friends. We loved the set up with the younger teens hanging out in the downstairs living area and the rest of us hanging out upstairs. The pool table and ping pong table were great and the large hot tub at night was a treat. Location was great too with a short walk to town. First time we have rented a cabin and we will totally do it again. It was clean and as advertised--just what I expected. The owner was easy to deal with and that is a big plus.

  We just had the best time in your home. It had everything we could have possibly needed, and was comfortable as well. We spent most of our time on the wonderful decks soaking up the sun and beautiful views. At night we used the hot tub and the kids practically wore out the ping pong table and pool table!Thank you so much for such great accommodations. We were three families, 10 people, four of them kids -- two of those were teenagers, and everyone had a great time. Even my dog loved it!
