Sunchase Beachfront is a fully gated community with full-time security. And since 1999, our beachfront condo has become a second home to hundreds of guests, who return each year.
As Owner Operators, our goal is naturally exceed your Vacation Expectations in several ways. Unlike a property managed by a company, renters do not go through a 'property manager.' Our guests personally deal with the owners.

Great condo! Everything was just as pictured, very clean and equipped. Nice to be so close to the beach and walking distance to shopping and dinning. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Naturally, the reason our guests get a token is because, since we are sooo close to the beach, people who are not staying in our condos want to use the wonderful amenities on our property which are intended just for our guests. First the positive - condo is nicely decorated. Granite counters and nice bath. Now the reality which is not mentioned in the listing or the pictures. This condo is on the beach but it does not have clear beach view. The picture shown in this listing is zoomed in shot of the ocean view. Do not expect the same view from the condo and it is obstructed by the palm tree. There is no elevator so you have to carry heavy luggage and beach items up the stairs. There is no laundry facility in the condo. The laundry room is too far by the pool. You need to carry all of the clothes up and down the stairs and leave unattended. We had internet issues during our stay. It did not work. Owners only kept on sending emails to the internet company but did not resolve the issue. The manager went out of her way to let us use the laptop with 3g internet and also gave us access to the office. That is the reason for two stars. It would have been lower otherwise. We were on the island again and decided to stay at another property and were looking at the real estate listing and saw that this condo is for sale but is still being rented so if you are planing to rent in the future, know that you may not even have a place. There are many choices on the island and choose a better one than this.

Owner response: After reading what the guest says about our Sunchase Beachfront Condominium, I would ask you to consider the many other reviews of our place. Besides the obvious differences in experience that many others had, this guest wrote his review more than 90 days AFTER he was a guest in our unit, not the customary 10 days. The principal reason the guest was not happy is also the principal reason we, as Owner's took over the management of our vacation properties on South Padre Island. Regrettably for years up until this guest’s departure, we did as most condominium owners on South Padre do, hire an independent management company to find customers. That stopped after this guest’s stay. Since the day he left, we, Sheldon and Nora have managed our own condos on SPI. Please know that some of what the guest says in his review is true. For example, the Internet service under our former management company was inconsistent. The guest might be pleased to know that we now use the same great Internet service provider in our Sunchase Beachfront unit that we do at our Saida property, the other condo we own on South Padre Island. We are very sorry the guest did not have a nice time. Incidentally, our condo was not the first one this guest stayed in while on SPI that week ( For whatever reason, the management company we no longer use, moved him from another unit to ours), I can sort of understand why the guest was not in a good mood to start with. That said, if you are interested in having a vacation where the owners themselves are responsible for cleanliness, security and a memorable experience like nearly everyone has had now that we have taken over our own management, please give us a call at 956.357.0060 (24/7) for more details and availability. This was our first time in SPI and using VRBO. It was tons of fun and very relaxing even with our 4 kids. We stayed here because we were right on the beach and there was a grassy area if they just needed to get out and run around. We all so wanted to stay here because we didn't have to cross a road to go to the beach. We also didn't want to deal with the larger hotel style condo. About the condo The Condo was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable and the air conditioning was cold. The owners were upfront and honest. They were very accommodating to our individual needs. It was very nice to have a high chair in the condo, boogey boards and other beach equipment (chairs, frisbee, cooler etc). Great place I would recommend this place to other people.

Owner response: Being thought of as "Excellent" by a guest is of course, our goal. Thank you Matt for characterizing your experience with us in that way. Your comments that we have a 'grassy area' within our complex is often overlooked by us. We just take it for granted. Maybe that is another amenity that we as owners fail to promote. Most of the condo resort communities here on SPI have too much building, mostly rooms, and a pool. One of the reasons we chose Sunchase Beachfront as our vacation home was the amount of grassy area within the complex. It is kind of nice to be able to walk on grass instead of cement all of the time. And as you mentioned, Matt, at our place, there is virtually nothing between our condos and the beach. Naturally, no road to cross to get to the beach. Finally, we were so pleased that you remarked about the temperature in the condo. This year, we spent $3000 to install a new AC unit. It better be comfortable. Thank you again, Matt for you and your family for visiting us. We, of course, welcome your return next year.
My fiancee and our two daughters truly enjoyed themselves. All the amenities were present in the condo. The condo was well equipped and comfortable. My fiancee and the girls were born and raised in Russia. They truly enjoyed the beach, but the girls fell in love with the pools. The girls got to play and learn English with other children in the pool area. We will definitely make a return trip next year. The whole place is ideally suited for families like ours. I particularity enjoyed the close proximate to the beach.

This unit is exactly as described on the web site. Well furnished, clean and very functional for a family. The owners are wonderful and really make sure you have a perfect stay. The location is ideal and the complex is well maintained and clean. The access to the beach is easy. Great place to stay, we would definitively recommend this unit to our friends. It’s a no brainer for our next visit.

Ms. Weaver made us feel so great when she said, "Nora (that's me) is so hospitable, sending me emails, checking on us, and making sure our stay was so comfortable." We were very happy with the condo and amenities provided. The description of the condo, location and furnishings (including beach towels/chairs) were spot-on. We took a leap of faith when selecting this condo based on the description of its proximity to the beach, and it did not disappoint us; just a short walk and you're there! If you prefer sitting on the balcony and watching the ocean waves, you can do that too. Our stay was when there were no Spring breakers or other activities going on, which is exactly what we were looking for. The owners, Sheldon and Nora, were very accommodating, provided timely answers to our questions and even called to make sure we had arrived okay (we arrived in the evening). The condo, including the bathrooms/kitchen, were very clean and we would definitely recommend this condo again. Thanks for a great time!

About the owner: Although we, Nora and Sheldon Davis live inland, full-time, about a hour to the west, we come to South Padre Island often. We love our Island home and we are happy to share it with others. Although I'm now retired Sheldon is still working and our dream is to spend our 'together' years sitting on the beach watching our grandkids play in the surf.
