Arrivals & departures are usually on Saturdays with some flexibility.

We stayed at this wonderful villa for a week in February 2013. From the very first enquiry, our experience has been first class. The owners, Dorothy and Danny, responded to my numerous emails always within 24 hours and often with minutes! We had an initial concern when we received the booking contract and realised that they lived in a separate apartment underneath the villa as we had a bad experience with a similar set up in Italy where we found the owner very intrusive. They assured us that we would not be aware of their presence and this was indeed the case. After welcoming us warmly and showing us round the villa and explaining how everything worked, we never saw them until we left apart from the odd occasion when we needed a gas bottle changing. It was in fact quite comforting to know they were close at hand if we did encounter any problems The villa itself is fabulous, equipped with everything you could possibly want while on holiday. It really is a home from home and there was nothing we found that we were missing at all. The location is a little off the beaten track , but it's only a five minute drive to Alhaurin el Grande where there is a good supermarket and numerous restaurants. The villa has so many facilities though that once you've stocked up on groceries for the week, you probably don't want to leave. The outdoor facilites at the villa are the best we have ever encounteredf and we have stayed at dozens of rental properties over the years. Sadly the weather wasn't too kind to us the week we were there and so we couldn't enjoy the pool which even with the solar heating was a little too chilly to swim in, but the outside temperature was unusually cold even for February. I really don't think you will find a better villa for the money anywhere in this region. Many of Dorothy and Danny's guests are returning clients and we are already looking forward to a return visit ourselves in the futureRecommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.

The villa is immaculate and extremely well equipped inside and out. Danny and Dorota have thought of everything to make your stay pleasant and easy. They were so friendly - not at all intrusive but always available to help out with any questions or advice. We particularly liked the heated pool (the kids spent hours in there and it makes a big difference that it is warm) and the fact that there are lots of shaded areas around the pool so even on the warmest days it was lovely to sit outside. Also the fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, air con, barbecue area... I could go on! I would say that a hire car is essential as you are not really walking distance to anywhere but alhaurin de la Torre is just a few minutes drive for the daily trips to get fresh bread, barbecue supplies and a visit to the heladeria for ice cream :-) Great cycling locally as well for those interested.Did you find this review helpful? Myself and my wife booked this villa for my wife's 30th Birthday and travelled with 12 friends. The villa was beautiful. Dorothy and Danny looked after any needs we had and were very friendly but also extremely professional. We had some freak weather but the pool table kept most of our guests happy when the Sun wasn't shining. One of our friends left some keys behind and Dorothy searched, found them and posted them to us via registered post without hesitation. I can't recommend the albatross Villa highly enough. A wonderful welcome awaited us on our arrival, Dorothy and Danny couldn't have been more helpful and went out of their way to make our holiday very memorable without being intrusive. Loved the privacy and spectacular views to the mountains, fantastic waking up to breakfast on the terrace with a view. The Villa had every conceivable amenity you could think of, and our teenage girls particularly liked the fact they didn't miss out on 'X Factor'through Sky,and of course wi-fi connection! We loved the ice-machine so much we've already ordered one for home! Easy to drive into the town 5mins and for the more energetic 30min walk which is worth it for the coffee and cakes in the local cafe. No need to leave the villa as it had everything for your entertainment although for the golfers out there 2 amazing courses near by. The pool and grounds of the vila was fantastic with table tennis and the pool table keeping everyone entertained. Wish we had found this place when our kids were younger as so well equipped for families of all ages. We all had a fantastic week away and couldn't have asked for more (except better weather). There was six adults and two children in total. We didn't feel in any way cramped and had all the amenities required to have a nice relaxing week by the pool. The villa was exactly as described on the website with everything you could need and more! Very tastefully decorated with quality fittings and furnishings.Danny and Dorota are excellent hosts, and couldn't do enough to help in any way they could but without being intrusive at all. The pool was fantastic and we all had great enjoyment from all the amenities. So much to do for the children, they never got bored! We spent a very enjoyable two week holiday at the albatross Villa. The facilities are second to none: a heated pool, table tennis, table football, pool table, inflatable bouncy castle, Wii, X Box, ice making machine, frog pond, trampoline, gas bbq, indoor and outdoor dining and Danny and Dorota were great, really responsive and lovely people. The best thing for us was that the villa was so private and there was no intrusion from the outside world, but the town is only a 5 minute drive away. The restaurants in alhaurin were great and it is only an hour or so drive to Gibraltar which was well worth the drive.
