  My family and I (two adults, and three children ages 7, 4 and 16 months) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Mission District property. It is located within walking distance to the Bart station and many restaurants, coffee shops, etc. The unit is clean, well furnished, and quiet. The location and amenities of the property made our stay easy. The owner of the property met us late at night upon our arrival, assisted us with "moving in" for the week, and made himself available for any questions we had regarding San Francisco. We would return again.

  This wonderful apartment is indeed a gem! I enjoyed every minute of my stay. The owner is a wonderful host. The refrigerator was stocked with soft drinks, OJ, eggs and beer. There was even a bottle of wine waiting for us. I can't forget to mention the coffee! The apartment itself is solid. I don't think the web pictures did it justice. It was clean and well-maintained. It's perfect for two people. You could add an extra guest, as there is sofa bed in the living room. The bathroom is basic, but there is also washer/dryer available. My favorite part of the apartment is the backyard garden. I spent hours reading and soaking up the sun out there. The garden is amazing, with birds of paradise and many other beautiful flowering plants that attract humming birds. And that's just the apartment - the location is equally amazing! You're a stones throw away from amazing restaurants and bars. And you can't miss Tartine Bakery! Dolores park is just a few blocks away. In short, yes I would recommend this property to all my friends and relatives.

  Where to start? This rental is perfect if you are looking to really become a part of San Francisco. Michael greeted me upon my arrival and instantly made me feel like I had picked the right place. They are so generous with their home, and at the same time I had complete privacy. Upon arrival they had also stocked the fridge with some fruit and beverages, so nice to not have to run right out after travel. The apartment also has access to the back yard which is an oasis itself(the lemon tree was the icing on the cake, yum!). I began and ended each day sitting outside in the sun reading from one of the many books which make up a small library inside the apartment, also lovely to look at and added a real homey feel. As well as the real plants and beautiful artwork decorating the place. Bedroom is super quiet and comfortable. Location is steps away from amazing eateries, bars, book stores, and parks. I was able to walk or take public transportation everywhere I went, so no car is needed. The list of restaurants and things to do left in the apartment was a great starting point and very helpful. Grocery, coffee shops and juice stands are steps away from your front door, so convenient to start the day off right! I plan on returning to SF and would not stay anywhere else. I definitely left my heart in San Francisco good thing I left it here so I'll know where to find it when I come back!

  I didn't want to leave! The apartment is beautiful (the photos don't do it justice), unbelievably quiet and couldn't be better located. Most SF hotels are located in the generic tourist zones of Fisherman's Wharf and Union Square or in the downtown business district -- in other words, away from anything you'd really want to see. This beautiful refuge -- with delightfully warm and helpful hosts -- is in the heart of the coolest, most happening part of the city. The dining opportunities within just a few blocks are incredible, and the people watching is fantastic. Public transportation was great. I felt like I was in the REAL San Francisco -- the neighborhood pulses with life and is filled with people who exude cosmopolitan chic (in the good sense, not the pretentious one.) And then to be able to come home to this incredibly private, quiet refuge is an amazing respite. Michael and Fabio have been in the neighborhood for ages and are happy to tell you almost anything you would want to know about where to go and what to do. They seem to have a genuine love of hospitality, as opposed to some owners who are happy to take your money and then you're stuck on your own! I spent most of my time in the Mission and in the nearby Castro district, all of which I easily did by foot. And I could've spent double the time I did exploring just these two neighborhoods My one complaint is: oh wait, I dont have any!
