After spending a week in a hotel for a Conference in Vancouver, my colleagues and I were looking for a relaxing place to cook some dinner and recharge our batteries. We were thrilled with our experience at this cottage. From the homey decor to the fully functional kitchen, it was exactly what we were looking for. Helene and Philippe were amazing hosts. The house is not far from public transit by train or bus, but there are also a number of restaurants and stores within walking distance. On our final day, we were able to walk to the Queen Elizabeth Park and Van Dusen Botanical Gardens. I'm definitely planning to return to Vancouver and know exactly where I'll be staying when I do!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This beautiful Garden Cottage should be highly considered when you choose to visit Vancouver! My wife and I stayed here 5 nights, and I wish we would have been able to spend more time at this delightful cottage! Our great hosts, Helene and Philippe were very accommodating throughout our entire visit. The photos and descriptions listed were exactly as advertised, and everything was clean and well maintained! Beautiful gardens, everything was provided, close enough to downtown Vancouver and many other great locations if you want to drive, walk, bus or rail. Very quiet safe and pretty neighborhood, On our next trip there we will definitely return to this cottage!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for staying with us. We were delighted to host you.

My daughter was moving to Vancouver to study so I booked the Garden Cottage as temporary lodging for her until she could find an apartment. Best decision ever. Philippe and Helene greeted my daughter warmly from the time she set foot in Vancouver and assisted her greatly. I joined my daughter a week later and together we stayed several more days until she finally settled into her new apartment. The Garden Cottage is as described and was very clean and comfortable. What for us made our stay all the more enjoyable is the true kindness and hospitality shown by Helene and Philippe, which went well beyond our expectations. We were so fortunate to have their assistance during what was for us a stressful period. It certainly made things much easier. Thank you!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind comments. We enjoyed hosting you in our furnished rental.

As a long time Lower Mainland BC resident, I recently found myself needing accommodation in Vancouver on very short notice. I sent out many queries and was fortunate to hear right back from the owners of the Garden Cottage. From my first contact with the owners, I felt cared for and pampered! I was provided with very speedy, thorough and organized information regarding check in and the rental agreement and was welcomed warmly. My two week stay at the Garden Cottage was outstanding! The photos of the cottage are very accurate, if anything, the photos don't capture the quaint and elegant European feel of the space! The Cottage was in pristine and clean condition, with tons of fluffy white towels, luxurious linens, incredibly well stocked kitchen ware and the 'little extras' provided a huge 'wow' factor! With the skill and expertise of a personal concierge, the owner hosts thought of everything, including information about where to shop, great restaurants and a list of things to do in the neighborhood. The Garden Cottage is located in the quiet, safe, hip, artistic area of Main Street and I got a sense of the very funky neighborhood vibe. There is a theatre, many restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, a pharmacy, clothing shops and yoga studios within walking distance of the Cottage. My favorite local restaurants were 'Burgoo' (French Country Casual) and Sawasdee (Thai). I bought groceries at 'Choices' on Cambie Street and at the Organic Market on Main. The Cottage is near major bus routes and an easy walk from the Skytrain station. The Garden Cottage is a short and direct 45 minute drive from the Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal or the Peace Arch Border Crossing. It is a 20 minute trip from the Airport. As a local, I was used to the 'green initiatives' and really appreciated all the recycling and composting options at the Cottage. I have already recommended the Garden Cottage to many friends and family and I plan to return soon for a romantic weekend with my husband or when we don't wish to make the drive home after a night at the theatre or hockey game or just want a fun weekend in the City!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

This place won't disappoint. The hosts are warm and friendly and the suite is lovely. I enjoyed browsing the shops on Main Street and there were lots of options for dining as well. The hosts allowed for an early check-in which coming in from an early flight was a bonus as well!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I did stay with my children due to renovations at home. We all liked the location, near Downtown Vancouver and close to a number of a very good restaurants and stores located nearby, on Main and Cambie Streets both at walking distance. A plus, my youngest son enjoys swimming. Not a problem, the Hillcrest community centre, (former site of the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics) is also at walking distance. He had a blast !!!!!!. Almost forgot, Spanish is our first language. Philippe the owner speaks the language fluently. This helped a lot for the interaction with the whole family. Thanks Philippe for such a pleasant stay, definitely, we recommend this place.... GRACIAS.....Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

When visiting Vancouver this past summer on business I was in search of accomodations that were more than a regular hotel room, boy did I find it! This cute as a button cottage located just off Main or Cambie Street was close enough to transit that I didnt need to take a car downtown and pay for parking and the cool shops and restaurants close by had friends coming to my hood to visit. Very clean, comfortable, thoughtfully decorated and stocked for short or long term stays. I will definately book this cottage in the city again on my next visit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, our daughters (3 years old and 18 months) and I had a great time at Philippes and Helene's cottage. The accommodations were wonderfully comfortable and close to Vancouver attractions like Queen Elizabeth Park and quick skytrain ride to Downtown, our stay allowed us to have the feeling of being at home while away from our home! Philippe and Helene have a lot of excellent suggestions for the Vancouver and surrounding areas, and are incredibly gracious and friendly hosts. We would be happy to stay with them again if the opportunity arises, and highly recommend their home to others!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks. We were happy to host your family.
