What a wonderful escape from the noise of the city, but within a short bike ride of all the fun! 3 of us stayed in the smaller of the two apartments and found it to be just the right size. We had one in the attic bed, one on the fold out couch and another on a spare single bed. The small kitchen had the basics and allowed us to cook dinner each night. Bathroom was very nice and roomy. The area is beautiful and far enough away from downtown to not be touristy(felt like a real neighborhood). The island is full of other beautiful houses and houseboats. This location is perfect for those that like to separate going out to sight see and relaxing back at the apartment. I can not say enough about how nice the area is. It is a 5 to 10 min walk to shops, but once again this is a less touristy area. Carla and Ben were very professional and the apartment was kept in it top shape. They also went above and beyond by helping us out. Offered many cool things to see and helped with anything we needed. They even gave us a bottle of Prosecco for New Years! Recommended to friends and family for SURE! Hoping to go back this spring! RENT THIS PLACE Highly suggest renting bikes to see the city. Going around all the canals and seeing what is outside of the center of the city is amazing.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Year Purchased: 1985
About the owner: We are a couple with two daughters who recently moved out the house. We have enough room to offer. Both still working in our field: Ben is an architect and Carla is a dental hygienist each with their own businesses. We love to travel ourselves a lot, so we can understand a nice quiet retreat after being in the busy city all day.
Why the Owner Chose Amsterdam:
We were very much attracted to this property because of the size and the potential and very importantly: the location! The children have loved it here, in the city, but still a lot of room to adventure. We are still enjoying it massively.
