This roomy apartment is located 1 1/2 blocks off Bourbon Street, 2 blocks from Preservation Hall and Pat O'Brien's, 1/2 block from Joe's Liquors, so it is within walking distance to everything in New Orleans' Historic French Quarter. It features a large, fully furnished and cozy living room with a musician's area. At one end of the huge living area is an 'indoor patio' complete with plants and fountain. The living area has the original hardwood floors, ceiling fans with lights, Bose stereo and cable tv. The indoor patio leads into a spacious kitchen, fully stocked with all cookware, dinnerware, flatware, linens, etc. The kitchen contains a full 4-burner gas stove and oven, electric coffee pot, full refrigerator/freezer, microwave oven, dishwasher, sink garbage disposal and double sink.

The first bedroom is beautifully decorated and contains a king size bed with memory foam mattress, ceiling fan with lights, bedside tables and lamps, cable tv, stereo, lots of drawers for clothing, shelves for personal items and full dressing table with mirror and lights. The second bedroom contains a queen size bed with memory foam and air control mattress, bedside tables and lamps, ceiling fan with lights, one small closet and one huge closet. At the end of the large closet is a stacked washer and dryer complete with laundry detergent and fabric softener.

Last but not least is the full bathroom complete with tub and shower, all bath linens and soaps and more than enough shelves to hold your personal bath items.

This fabulous apartment has central air and heat. It has high-speed wireless internet and is decorated in typical eclectic New Orleans style throughout. Its front door opens onto the sidewalk and street and has a stoop perfect for people-watching. Small parades roll by unexpectedly and there is ample pedestrian/street traffic. Its kitchen door opens onto a small outdoor area with a propane gas grill. Even though it is located only 1 1/2 blocks off Bourbon Street it is amazingly quiet. You will sleep like a baby because the bedrooms are located in the rear of the apartment, away from any noise. Taxi and pedi-cab service are easily hailed immediately out in front of the apartment if you don't choose to walk. Really good full-time neighbors surround this apartment on both sides of the street.

This property also displays some very nice pieces of local art by local artists and is truly one of the best apartments in the Quarter.

....Location, Charm, Peacefulness, Location, Ambiance, did I mention Location...my travelin' friends, it doesn't get any better than this...only a few blocks from everything...no matter where you go, you are never far from your Home base....absolutely perfect...sometimes you have to make yourself leave the house, it's so relaxing there...all of the reviews I read are spot on correct....Babs, you are the Heart of the Quarter....thank you for your generosity and sharing your lovely home with us...it was one of our best trips that we've ever had....and by far our favorite place we've stayed in New Orleans...our last 24 hours there were more fun than we could have imagined...we have many happy memories in your kitchen...imagining the 100,000 plus breakfasts cooked there before us(that's not including lunches/dinners)...great vibe....as for my fellow travelers, here are some "must do's", eat, drink, and be happy, you're in NOLA baby...start off with a Pat O'Briens Hurricane(only 2 blocks away), go to Daisy Duke's for lunch (bottomless bloody mary's), Mother's rest.(usually a line there, but worth the wait), compare a Frank's vs. Central Grocery muffuletta (they are located side by side),Cafe du Monde for coffee/beignets(always a nice treat), stroll the French Market on a Sunday morning, go say hi to Winston at the Golden Lantern, dance on the bar at Coyote Ugly's(careful now), sing a song at the Cat's Meow(right down the street),ride the Canal Street trolley(or at least some trolley).....oh, the list goes on and on(and on) but that should be enough to get you started...Thanks again Babs..we're coming back soon and hope to meet you sometime ....we'll be in touch...we still have so much more to see and do...we love NEW ORLEANS and we love your home ! ! !

The shotgun apartment(home) was awesome. We were able to park right out in front of the unit which is a plus when you visit NOLA. We visit NOLA three to four times a year and this ranks as our favorite so far. Perfect location quiet but just a block away from all that NOLA has to offer. We were also a big fan of Stooping on the front steps. Making our coffee in the morning and stooping on the front porch is awesome. We will definitely stay again!!

A small group of friends and I decided in January to take a trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Every hotel was booked and the prices of some rentals were very high. We were lucky enough to find this amazing rental right in the middle of the French Quarter for such a great price. Babs was very accommodating, it was a very comfortable stay, we had everything we needed. The location was fantastic, just far enough away to avoid loud noise, but close enough to enjoy everything Mardi Gras has to offer. We had to park our cars far away, but it didn't matter because we walked everywhere! We would definitely stay here again.

Our stay at this apartment was perfect. The location is ideal for first time visitors as you are in walking distance to Bourbon street and have ample access to cabs when venturing out. The apartment itself was better than expected - the pics don't do it justice! Clean, large space, comfortable. The best part of this rental however was the owner Babs. She was beyond hospitable - gave us great personal recommendations for activities and was communicative throughout the booking process and stay. Couldn't have asked for a better trip. Thanks Babs!!!!

This is truly the best location in the quarter. The apartment is beautiful, comfortable and so convenient to Bourbon, Royal, Jackson Square, The Coffee Pot, Pat O's and other places of interest. I have had the pleasure of staying here many times and it is always my choice! Very clean, well maintained, and the best owner with which to deal ever! It is definitely a FIVE STAR!

My husband and I and our three kids stayed in this apartment back in the spring. It was such an amazing experience that I just had to write my first review ever! The location is great- close enough that you can walk to everything but just far enough to get a great night's rest. We would stay out sightseeing and run by the apartment for a brief rest or bathroom break. SO convenient. The apartment is lovely, extremely spacious, and immaculately clean. We could not have been more at home. We all hated to leave, in fact. You will not find anyone that's more of a pleasure to deal with than the owner. She was extremely nice and made the whole experience a success. I would recommend this apartment to anyone planning a trip to the French Quarter. You will not be disappointed!

My Daughter and I stayed here for her 21st Birthday weekend this year, This apartment really gets you in the New Orleans spirit! its only a short walk to Bourbon Street but just out of the way enough to still be quiet! Everything was nice and clean, the beds slept great! it was close enough for us to go window shopping and come back to change and rest before going out for the evening! It was nice having our own kitchen to make coffee in and relax in the mornings but my favorite room was the Living room with all its New Orleans style! I hope to stay here again soon!

Had a great stay at this rental! There was plently of room for our group of people, it was very close to the action on bourbon. Yet far enough away to be able to escape when you need to. And there was so much room compared to a hotel. I would definately stay at this location again.

My husband, 15 yr old granddaughter and I have rented this apartment several times in past year. It is clean, safe and feels like home. You can walk the quarter all day, go back and have a cold one on the stoop and watch the locals come home from work. It's wonderful to go back and use our own bathroom!! The décor is so NEW ORLEANS!!! What a fun time and the details went smoothly.

                      Manager info

About: I have worked in the French Quarter intermittently for most of my life, have lived in many French Quarter apartments and this is by far the best property ever. This apartment is my home, I only rent it out for special seasonal events. You will probably find a few photos of family and friends here and there. I love New Orleans and am proud to share the local experience with others so they can enjoy it, also.

                      Why French Quarter:
I chose this apartment first of all because for an approximately 400 year old building, it is in great shape plus has the modern amenities that are so convenient. Also, its location is perfect for walking to any location in the French Quarter. Of equal importance is how quiet the bedrooms are at night.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Every room has at least one large window with beautiful window treatments to let the sunshine in. The bedroom windows have closable window treatments to keep them dark and cozy if you choose to sleep late.
