Our tropical studio (or 'ohana' as they are called in Hawaii) has beautiful ocean views from the studio’s outdoor dining/BBQ area, front entrance and driveway area as well as spectacular ocean sunset views year round! Our studio is located in the home that we live in so we are your neighbors.
We are located in a residential area, approximately 6 miles from the famous Waikoloa Beach Resorts and the best beaches on the island!
Whether you are into golf, exploring volcano activity on the other side of the island, enjoying lazy days spent on white sandy beaches or searching for the bountiful treasures that the Big Island has to offer, our tropical studio is the perfect 'base-camp' for relaxing and rejuvenating island style.
This charming studio is very comfortable and inviting with windows throughout for natural sunlight. It is located in a quiet residential neighborhood and has great ocean views and year round sunset views from the studio's outdoor dining/BBQ area and front entry. Decorated in a tropical theme our studio is freshly painted, has a new, comfortable California King size bed and crisp new linens. The kitchen has bamboo floors, brightly colored counter tops and is equipped with a medium size fridge, microwave, 2 burner hot plate (there is no oven or stove but every other piece of cooking equipment to get the job done), toaster oven, blender, toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, french press and all necessary kitchen utensils; silverware, glassware and dishes as well as a large 4 burner stainless steel BBQ, perfect for grilling the fresh catch of the day or local Big Island beef.
We offer a unique setting for Waikoloa Village, our studio is part of our home, so both the main house and the studio are under one roof but they each have their own entrance and individual living space. Many other vacation rentals in this area are either condos or houses and there are no B&B’s. Staying in our studio, you will get the best of all worlds, your own private place along with the benefit of “innkeepers”, sharing our knowledge of the island's best places to go and things to do. If you are seasoned Hawaii travelers and know your way around then we simply offer you a nicely appointed, clean and cozy place to stay as you come and go as you please.
We extend our aloha by offering a Thursday evening 'pau hana' (happy hour). Whether it is a 'E Komo Mai' (Welcome) or a 'A Hui Hou' (Until We Meet Again), please join us on the main lanai for sunset, pupus (appetizers) and either red or white wine or sparkly water, served only on Thursdays from 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM.
We look forward to sharing our home’s studio space with you and supporting you in discovering all of the wonderful and amazing places and cultural sites that the Big Island has to offer. Mahalo nui loa for considering our little 'peace' of paradise!
Special Note: Our house is perched atop its lot to provide for spectacular views which also means that there is a steep driveway to walk up and down to/from the parking spot/studio. However, at any time you can drive up the driveway for loading and unloading purposes.
Truth in Advertising: There was some excavation going on behind the gulch area of our home but it is complete now. We are leaving this statement on our website just in case there is a day they that they decide to work but that hasn't happened in months. The studio is located at the front of the house and the furthest distance from the site. The great views from the studio areas are not effected whatsoever. However, we have reflected this potential activity in our low rates. If work is done it is during the day, when vacationers are usually at the beach or exploring all that the Big Island has to offer.

We stayed at this lovely place for 5 nights and we were happy that the place was clean and the hosts were friendly and helpful. They let us use the snorkel gear and boogie board which was great because the beaches nearby are really beautiful! Make sure to go to "A" beach, that was our favorite beach to spend the day and have a picnic lunch. The shopping close to that beach was more affordable if you need grocerys. We love the Big Island! Thankyou, Tom and JenniferRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you for choosing to stay with us, we are so glad you enjoyed your time staying at our studio while exploring the Big Island! Thank you for taking time to write a review. Mahalo!

We just returned from a wonderful week of staying at Jennifer and Tom's delightful studio in Waikoloa Village. It was as lovely and charming as all the photos on this site indictated. The panoramic views of the ocean and mountains from the property and special designated lanai area for the studio guests were fantastic. We enjoyed several sunsets that were absolutely gorgeous. I have very high standards for cleanliness and this charming, very comfortable studio was sparkling clean. The thoughtfulness of what a vacation renters needs might be was excellent in furnishing the studio. If all the previous mentioned attributes weren't enough, the frosting on the cake was to have such pleasant and enjoyable people as Jennifer and Tom to welcome you and provide you with any information about the Big Island that you might like to know such as where the good snorkeling spots are, great places to eat out and special adventures. They are such generous and interesting people. This was the third trip for us to the Big Island. We had previously stayed at resorts near Kona. Staying in Waikoloa Village was very enjoyable. It was nice to have the quiet and privacy of staying in a residential area. We loved the beaches in the Waikoloa area. Day trips to anywhere on the island were easily accessible. Would we want to return for another stay? Absolutely and we hope to someday. Mahalo Jennifer and TomRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Aloha and Mahalo for taking the time to write a review! It was such a pleasure to meet you both and we are really glad you chose to stay in our studio. We hope to see you again, a hui ho!

I stayed at this studio for 9 days and LOVED it! The owners have a very good attention to detail and to what is needed for the comforts of a tourist. I appreciated that the kitchen, living space and bed were furnished with the same level of quality as my home. The neighborhood is very quiet and the location was perfect for me because I went to the resort beaches every day. I've stayed at several VRBO's in the past and this was my favorite. I hope to have a chance to stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: We have lived in Waikoloa Village on the Big Island of Hawaii for the past 7 years. We moved from San Diego, California, because we were ready for a simpler life style, a slower pace of life and the aloha spirit that really does exist in everyday interactions here. We feel very fortunate to call Hawaii our home because there is so much diversity, both in culture and landscape. Where else can you get up close and personal with an active volcano and then the next day be snorkeling in the warm, azure waters of the Pacific? It is truly a remarkable place to live and we are happy to be able to share our home and our local knowledge with our guests.
Why the Owner Chose Waikoloa Village:
The wife part of the relationship has been coming to Hawaii since 18 years of age and had a dream of one day living in Hawaii. Much, much later in life she met the husband part of the relationship and celebrated by vacationing in Hawaii and then they both had the dream! Hawaii is a very unique place; it has its Native Hawaiian history and yet it is part of the United States, it is the most isolated island chain in the world and yet living here creates a feeling of closeness to the land and to the many different ethnicity of people that make up Hawaii.
The Unique Benefits at this Studio:
We rented this property prior to buying it and fell in love with the spectacular and amazing views. We spend almost every evening on our lanai watching the sunset and hoping for a green flash and in winter seeing the whales breach in the distance!
