We were in the area for a wedding at the Red Barn Ranch, which is about 20 minutes away from the house. The Harrah's Casino was closer, but a little (a lot) over our ideal budget, and when I found this house it just seemed perfect. The price for 3 bedrooms is unbeatable (great for families), and the house is super comfy and has everything you need! Usually when you rent a house you need to bring linens and towels, or pay extra, but here everything is included, just like a hotel. Very convenient for travelers. The description of the house was accurate and the property was clean. The house is spacious, with lots of outdoor patio space and lovely landscaping. Communication with the owner was a breeze, as was the check-in and check -out process. I doubt that I'll be in the area in the future, but I would definitely stay there again and recommend to friends and family.

We stayed 3 nights and loved it. Our two young children explored the property and climbed around on the small rock formations, which were mountains to them. It's about 10 miles into Escondido for all the regular shopping, or a mini-mart across the street for most things (like expired bacon - check expiration dates! haha) The Eagles Nest across the street has friendly workers and seems like a fun place to eat and drink, but we didn't make it... Legoland was a little over 30 minutes away, so not bad. Most importantly, the manager and owners were all very nice people and we didn't have any issues; we spent one day just hanging out exploring the property and grilling. Would love to stay again!

We stayed here in July of 2013 and loved it! The house was perfect for our family! We have 4 children and there was plenty of room! The kitchen had everything we needed to have some meals at the house. The scenery was beautiful, the weather was great, can't wait to visit again!

Great value for Northern San Diego County
Great value for Northern San Diego County
We stayed in the main house 4 nights while attending a family reunion in the area, and it suited us well. Everything was as-advertised. The food @ The Eagles Nest was great, as was the "mini-super" right across the street, which has everything but meat and fresh vegetables, and those can be had on the Road To Escondido. We also had another nice meal at the Ital Joint nearer the post office. Cat was easy to deal with, and her system for dealing with the locks was great - this can be a vexing issue with vacation rentals. The big "bonus room" could be a great place for a Slumber Party if you had a family group with a lot of kids - the adults take the bedrooms, and the kids in sleeping bags on the carpeted hall AT THE OTHER END OF THE HOUSE!!! The house is on one level (all the living areas in the main house and the entry), so it's quite accessible for scooter or walkers (some sills, like into the Bonus Room), not sure if the doors to the bathrooms are quite wide enough for a canted-wheel "active" chair, but I'm sure Cat (who is local: this is NOT a VRByRemoteControl) can provide details if that's important. Valley Center is going to be hotter in the summer than the Coast, and probably colder in the winter than say Oceanside, so as long as you adjust your expectations. This part of the County is attractive semi-rural, rugged countryside, a nice middle distance between Too Damn Crowded and Back Of Beyond.

Great house in Valley Center
Wow what a great place. Cat was great and very responsive she made the rental process super easy and comfortable. The house was very clean on arrival and has all the amenities needed for a stay (coffee maker, filters, grinder and everything needed to cook). My dogs loved running around the property which has a full fence so no worry of them getting out. We had a great time and will rent this house and cottage again.

We were very pleased with our stay in the main house. The house was very clean, well stocked with all the basics (including coffe filters!), comfy beds, lots of room, and the property is beautiful and secure. We travel with our dogs and it was a pleasure to have a place they could run around and we knew they were safe. The property manager is great to work with and was easily reachable when we had a question. We travel to this area often for dog events and have already booked our second stay!

I rented the house for the week-end with a couple of girl friends and our dogs, we were attending the dog show at the Nut Farm which is 4.2 miles away, BTW, the Nut Farm is a fantastic place to take the kids or the dogs. Communicating with Cat was so easy and everything went smoothy :-) she was wonderful at accomendating a last minute add on guest. The house is so comfy, clean and well equipped with everything you need, just bring your wine, jammies, and toothbrush & you're set !! we felt right at home. It is fully fenced which gave us peace of mind that our dogs were safe :-) The pictures don't do it justice, trust me you will love it !!
