We stayed here for a week. We enjoyed it tremendously. It is very quiet, so we slept well. We have a daughter in a wheelchair, and this apartment is totally accessible. Also, it is near 2 tram lines that go to the city center (15 minute ride) and that are also accessible. It is also within walking distance of Oosterpark and many beautiful canals. The owner is extremely nice and very helpful. The apartment is clean and has all the amenities. We strongly recommend it Irwin and MoniqueOwner response: Dear Irwin & Monique & Amy, Thank you for your stay. You (and I :)) will remember this for a long time, being here when Holland celebrates the new King is very special. It was lovely meeting you! warm regards from Amsterdam, Petra

We (a family of 3 - 2 adults and 1 girl of 9) stayed in this lovely apartment for 4 nights, enjoying it greatly. It is situated in a very pleasant neighbourhood, rather close to the downtown (10-15 minutes by tram), but quiet and tranquil at the same time. The owner, Petra, is an ideal host - always eager to help, to advise and assist in all needs. The apartment is exactly the right size for a family of 3, having everything one may need - linen, towels, TV, Internet, kitchen appliances. Even toys and games were there for our daughter to play with! A welcome treat of cookies and soft drinks in the fridge were a nice surprise, extremely appreciated. There are a couple of supermarkets within the walking distance, a terrific little pizzeria one block away, and more cafes and restaurants nearby. I would say this is an ideal location for couples who are not really there for partying and discos and families with children - fantastic Amsterdam zoo, and a large park are very close. Staying in this apartment added much to our pleasant experience from our visit to Amsterdam. Highly recommended! Great many thanks to Petra and her family for all their kindness and attention! Much love from Russia - Max, Anna and Dasha.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 11/11

We have been in Watergraafsmeer at Petra's house, since 1st to 5th of October 2010. We enjoyed the apartment, Petra and her family. They was all very kind with us. The apartment is very comfortable and Petra was very kind preparing the apartment for the party of my soon birthday that was at our arriving, 1st of October. It was my third time in Amsterdam, although is the first time as holidays and Petra gave us all the support we needed since we book the place, in June 2010. Here, we have peace and we can realize better how this people lives. We have the tran 9 to Central Station at 1,5km more or less(walk is very good to our health). And in front at the apartment is the stop of the BUS 65, coming every 10 minutes that bring us to the train station of Gustav Maherlan and from there we have the train to Schipoll. The train stops inside of the airport. The bus 65 costs 2,60€/person, the ticket has duration of 1 hour, is the same for the trams. They aren't tickets for a day, or a couple of days or weekends. The train costs 2,00€/person. We want to Thank you, Petra, Frans and Kids all your kindness and we hope our experience helps other people too. See you soon!!!! Familia Sampaio, de Portugal!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Owner response: Thank you so much! It was really nice meeting you! love from Amsterdam!

Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Owner response: Sorry Paloma and Ramon, In Amsterdam we have never shutters like in spain.......:( ......That's why you rated me 4 stars...:(.... No thanks at all for the free gift/book for your daughter, and sweets for your children. It was my pleasure! bye, Petra

Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 13/13

Te sientes completamente a gusto, a tu aire. We've been there a few days ago and the truth is that we have come back very happy. The apartment is 15 minutes from the city centre by tram (line 9, stop Hogeweg). It has everything you need for a comfortable staying. The area has any kind of services, right opposite the tram stop there is a supermarket open even Sundays. Petra lives right in the white house next door and she was very friendly with us. She recommends you what to visit in the city or lets you know if there is an event at this time that may interest you. You feel completely at ease, at your leisure. The only problem I saw was that windows can not open. Just a very little windows on the top of the walls can open a little bit. We opened the street door over breakfast to ventilate the room. Highly recommended. And do not forget to bring a laptop with you, the apartment has free Internet access.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
