The sugar beach resort is well maintained, there is lovely grassy area on the beach, BBQs, lots of lounge chairs, pretty gardens. It's at the quiet end of Kihei, with a great, sandy walking/swimming beach. At this price, the unit itself needs an update, more comfortable furniture, and new cookware, but the view from the balcony is terrific, One problem is the dryer vents into the bathroom, but there are wonderful breezes through the apartment at all times. It's a good location for day trips, and a nice place to watch sunsets in the evening.Recommended for: Age 55+.

What a wonderful stay we had at Sugar Beach Resort! This unit was extremely clean and the best part, we say no bugs!!! It had everything we could possible need while we were in Maui. I will definitely stay here again! Thank you Becky for letting us stay at such sort notice!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Becky's condo. Morning coffee on the lanai was always fantastic, viewing the ocean (whalewatching), beach and grass area one way and the mountain and countryside on the other. We liked being able to see the pool as well, which we could always find lounge chairs at. Once on the ground floor, the beach was just steps away and we took plenty of strolls down it, crossed the street and went to the farmers market. So awesome! The condo was very clean when we arrived and we made ourselves comfortable right away. We had most everything we needed to prepare and cook our meals. My kids took full advantage of the cable tv, since we dont have it at home. We also watched plenty of movies on the Blu-Ray player. I have to thank Becky and her cleaning lady, who's name I've unfortunately forgotten, for being patient with us for forgetting that check out time was 11 o'clock and that I completely forgot to ask for a late check out. She was so nice and understanding and just started while we finished up our packing, making polite conversation and asking how our trip was. I guess we really just weren't ready to leave Sugar Beach. We had such an amazing time, thanks Becky for providing your condo for our stay, we loved it!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

We love this location even thought the units are not large, and have stayed at Sugar Beach Resort several times before. We enjoy long walks on the beach and you can walk for about half an hour to the south and longer to the north. The kitchen and bathroom in this suite badly need renovation. The kitchen counter is very difficult to use due to its narrow upper and lower sections. Some of the dishes need replacement. The plastic plants need to be disposed of as they are dust collectors. The bed was comfortable. The owner left a nice welcome basket, although I would have preferred to have basic spices supplied as these are available in most units. Our children stayed in another unit in the complex that was perfect and was considerably less expensive. This unit has a view of the water and has morning sun but you have to go downstairs for the beautiful sunsets (not an issue).Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, age 55+.
