Town House One Stop from Kyoto Station with Free Bicycles
- Minimum stay:3 nights
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Our Nakanishi-cho house is a comfortable two-storey house just 15 minutes walk from Kyoto station, and 10 minutes walk from Kujo subway station (one stop south of Kyoto Station). 10 minutes from Tofukuji station on the Keihan line which has direct train to Nara. Also it is fairly easy to do day-trip to Osaka and Kobe from the house.
Most residents in Kyoto get around by bicycle, and this really is the best way to see the city. So you get the use of four bicycles free of charge to do sightseeing, which makes visiting the city so much more pleasurable. You can get to places such as Kiyomizu-dera temple in about 10 minutes by bike, 15 minutes to Gion by cycling along the river. Alternatively it takes you about 15 minutes by bus to get to Gion and the bus stop is 2 minute walk from the house.
The house is in a quiet residential area. Downstairs there is a tatami mat living room with low table and chairs, fully equipped kitchen with table and chairs, Japanese-style bathroom, toilet and a washing machine with dryer built-in and a spacious closet. The house has super fast wifi.
Upstairs there are two traditional tatami bedrooms with futons, ideal for up to five people. Another 1-2 persons can stay downstairs by putting futons in the living room.
The neighbourhood is quiet however there is a supermarket about 5 minutes walk away with a good selection of food, 3 minutes walk to a 24HR convenience store, 100 yen shop plus some small family run restaurants nearby.
The house was recently renovated and is clean and comfortable. It should have everything you need to enjoy what Kyoto has to offer. As it is common in Japanese houses, the stairs are steep, so if you have young children you may want them to sleep downstairs. Alternatively we have a child barrier to put at the top of the stairs if you need it.
There is a library of movies and tv to watch, including some for children plus some toys and books. Good for a rainy day!

The description of the house and pictures were accurate. Everything that we needed was there clean and in good condition. Bikes were almost brand new. Property is well-located. It's about 15 min walking from Kyoto Central Station which is very convenient not only for the transportation but for shopping and restaurants as well. Main Kyoto attractions are a bit far away but this is compensated because house is near to the bus stop for Gion, and main streets where is pretty easy to get a taxi. Neighborhood is quiet and you get a complete feeling of privacy. I think it's ideal for families with kids (there's a small playground nearby) and shops are inexpensive. I gave it five starts because of the price, the location, the privacy, and amenities included in the house also the owner was very helpful and kind.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with teenagers, sightseeing.
