Perfect location in the heart of Wellsboro, near dining, shops, etc. (Native Bagel is a must). The house was clean, well-maintained, and combined an old fashioned charm with many modern features, such as updated bathrooms and kitchen. The owners, Doris and Dave were super friendly and very helpful in answering all of the questions that we had and in making recommendations about the area. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in the area.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2004
About the owner: Dave and Dori King love to Kayak, Bike, Ski, Hike and attend all kinds of arts and music events in the Wellsboro area. The above picture shows the two of them kayaking down the Pine Creek (kayaks and bikes are available in the barn on the property.
Why the Owner Chose Wellsboro:
We purchased this property because of the feeling we get when we arrive in 'small town' Wellsboro - distant from the hubub of suburban and city life. We breath a large sigh of relief when we drive into the beautiful town which was laid out by the founding fathers with a wonderful gas lit boulevard. It is always decorated by local civic leaders to match the season - Christmas trees and wreaths at Christmas, Corn stalks and pumpkins in the fall, flags etc for national holidays, etc. It is a pleasure to see and a greater pleasure to live here, even for a short spell!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This particular home grabbed us because of the potential which it presented to us. We have made many improvements such as removing the old carpeting to reveal gorgeous bi-colored wood floors in the dining room and oak in the parlor; created wainscoting and trim to match the Victorian era, improved the kitchen, installed a woodstove in the family room, upgraded the bath rooms, completely renovated the barn, in which we found letters by the Judge who owned the property around 1900. etc. etc.
