For those of us who appreciate two feet of fresh, blue skies and an empty mountain, but need a place to stay with your family that is truly as glorious as the above described conditions, your search is over. This home is simply perfect. My three teenage children, whom along with their parents, have enjoyed two trips to Vail every winter since they were babies, and who have had the privilege of staying at the Ritz Carlton, Bachelor Gulch, Arrabelle, the Four Seasons and other comparable Vail properties, left our happy place this past December, with one overwhelming point of agreement relating to our vacation, "this HOUSE was the best place we have ever stayed in Vail." From the heated floors, to the endless fireplaces, to the wonderful kitchen, to the outstanding views, to the elegant furniture, this house was just great. I have spent more money on hotels and condos than I care to think about and have never left a vacation thinking that the accommodations were worth the expense. This is no longer the case. The owners are delightful, generous people and for anyone that is looking for a five star experience at a fraction of the price, book it now (but the last week of March 2013 belongs to us). Have fun...Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: We grew up in Colorado and love to ski, golf, jeep, hike and explore the Rocky Mountains. Graduates of the Naval Academy and the University of Arizona, we now live, primarily, in Scottsdale, AZ enjoying another incredible home with fabulous views.

We fell in love with our Cordillera home the minute we walked in the door. You can see forever through our huge window and feel like you are on top of the world. There is so much to see and do in the area! The people are friendly and enjoy mountain life and the outdoors the way we do. There is a view from every room and whether there is bright sunshine and fabulous blue skies or snow falling, you know you are in your own dream world. There are days when you are above the clouds in the sun and can't see the valley below. Truly magical. The home has everything we were looking for in a vacation property, convenient to world class skiing and golf, a variety of activities, cultural awareness, community involvement and an amazing group of friends and neighbors.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are located just above a hiking trail that allows you to traverse the mountain and hike to your hearts content. The builder built the home for himself and his family and we love the special touches and upgrades that he added throughout the house, from the custom cabinetry and wood paneling to the hot tub, steam shower and sauna. Lovely cherry wood flooring and window casements bring warmth and vibrancy to the home. With a great game room, 10 televisions, wet bar, incredible deck and outside patio areas, there is something for everyone.
