  We were with a group of 7 and had a wonderfull getaway at John's villa. The villa looks great and is very spacious and clean. Waking up and being able to step outside and into your own private pool (which was actually even bigger then we thought) is just awesome. Bbq in the evening or just go to one of the two excellent restaurants (delicious fish!) down the hill, near the beach. The bedrooms with en suite bathrooms were ideal for our group. Needless to say, we enjoyed our stay very much! The Lagos town is about 5 minutes away by car (wouldnt walk to there personally) and there are many nice beaches in the area, perfect for a little getaway. I would advise a small rental car if you dont plan to stay at the villa all week. Dealing with John is easy as he is very quick to reply and you can always contact him if there is anything during your stay. It was an excellent, sunny week where all 7 of us had an awesome time at this villa!

  Casa Sol and Casa Mar are both beautiful villas next door to each other. My family and I stayed in Casa Sol which was very spacious, really good to have an en suite bathroom each. Well stocked with everything you need and very clean. Just a couple of negatives; A welcome pack would have been appreciated as we arrived after the shops had closed and I wish the sofas had been more comfortable for the evening relaxation but apart from that a very lovely villa. We saw John a couple of times, then he left us alone to get on with our holiday, which we appreciated but if we needed him he always answered his phone. Lovely large pool area with BBQ and plenty of sun loungers. I wouldn't recommend paying extra for the heated pool, we had one week with and one week without and couldn't tell the difference. We found our way round Porto De Mos very easily, there are a few large supermarkets within 5 mins drive The beach is superb!!, The food in the beach restaurants is very good (Campimar was our fave out of the two) we arrived late with no food or water in the villa so the restaurant supplied us with eggs, bread, milk etc ... all for free!) Hotel Miranda (on the cliff top overlooking the beach) has stunning views and is a lovely place to have coffee, unfortunately the evening service for us was very bad, 1 hour wait for starter, 1 hour wait for main course (which arrived cold), definitely worth a visit though for the view alone. Lagos is a beautiful place, especially around the marina and a boat trip is a must!, the coast is spectacular! (Southwest charters are by the marina on the top level) I would also recommend a trip round the grottos. Loads of restaurants to choose from. If you like fine dining go to Artistas, the service, food, ambience was worth every penny. I would recommend Porto De Mos to anyone, it is an all round beautiful place and family friendly, we had a 2 year old with us and everywhere we went she was made a fuss of and we were made to feel welcome. Can't wait to take our holiday in Porto De Mos again

  We spent a week at Casa Sol in late May for a family reunion of three siblings our spouses and some of our adult children. The location was great - a 3 minute walk to the beautiful beach and a 5 minute drive to town. You can also hike right from the villa along the waterfront cliffs for a few kilometers. The villa was superb. Lots of room for our party of 9 and well designed with space and luxury in mind. We particularly appreciated the 5 en-suite bathrooms providing privacy for everyone. Great view of the ocean from the terrace and a huge pool deck with lots of chairs and loungers for everyone. The large dining room and terrace tables can accommodate everyone at meal times. John was a pleasure to deal with and everything was smooth and simple. If you need this kind of large luxury accommodation, put this one on your list. We definitely have it on our list of places to return to.

  I fetched my family out to Lagos and stayed in Casa Sol in October 2011, First impressions of the villa was very nice but as the the week went on my views on it got worse! First night we slept in a bedroom in the lower level of the villa, in the morning our bed was covered in ants and not just one or two, more like 20 or 30. Every night after we had to spray all around the skirting board to prevent them coming in, the villa had ants in all rooms but only a few other the bedroom we slept in. The next day we decided to use the pool but it was way too cold to use, we had paid John £200 for the pool to be heated and it was freezing. After complaining to a member of his staff she came around and had a look and said thats the best they could do and it should be 27, it was nothing like 27 so decided to buy a thermometer to test it and it was 19 degrees after we got back home we asked for a refund but he said it was on all the time we were there, i had photos to prove it but hes just ignoring my emails so all i can suggest is be warned if you ask for the pool to be heated as believe me 19 degrees is not pleasant to be swimming in, our 15 month old child was shivering after 5 minutes. Later in the week two of the kitchen bulbs had gone which left just one to light up the kitchen, i told his staff and she said it would be sorted the next day, they never came to replace the bulbs so we were left with very little lighting in the kitchen to prepare and cook our food, also just mention the dishwasher door does not open so no use of the dishwasher im afraid, my findings of Johns company is that once they have your money they dont really care and i feel i had been conned out of £200 for a pool which we couldnt use. Lagos is a nice place but a car is needed for sure as the supermarket is a good 30 minute walk, beach is a 5 minute walk and has one restaurant there ( used to be two ) that’s really it so like I mentioned unless to like to walk miles then you really do have to hire a car, it does mention car recommended in the advert.

  Owner response: Sorry to read this, someone should have been there to change the light bulbs, this is normally done before each new client arrives. With regard to pool heating to my knowledge the heat pump was working 22hrs per day for your entire stay so if my end of month bills say otherwise you will be refunded. Having lived in Portugal for over 20 years all I can say is that ants do seem to find a way in at the end of the summer in certain properties, its not very frequent but occasionally this does happen, if we had been informed of this our maids would have dealt with this immediately. Sorry again for the inconvenience caused. The dishwasher is working and the door has been repaired from the previous guests use. Also restaurant "O Antonio" has re-opened (26/10) & opened another quality restaurant within a short walk as well, therefore, including Vivenda Miranda, we now have 4 restaurants within walking distance. A car is recommended (as per the website location map) however taxis are frequent, buses are every 20mins & the beach is almost on the doorstep. Plus our emailed key/location map shows the Mini Market Eurika which is much closer than Intermarche supermarket. Thank you for this feedback, we will do better in 2012 & we are currently sorting our any/all of the seasons repairs necessary on all of our beach front properties including adding en-suites to the annexes

  We were 8 at the villa and it was great. Spacious for everybody, clean and modern we spent a great time. The kids loved the pool - they almost jumped into from the bed. John was available when requested. The ocean is great for shark fishing, Zoomarine excellent and empty at Saturday´s, Golf and Tennis only minutes away. The restaurants are good - much better is miranda hotel restaurant on top of the hill (only minutes from the beach uphill). Thank you, we´ll come back. Frank from Berlin

  Just returned from a stay in this villa - fabulous in all ways, size, quality of furnishings, pool area, views and location in general. Excellent for families with a perfect beach only 2 mins walk away yet near enough to Lagos marina where there are several good restaurants. John is a pleasure to deal with and responds to any queries very promptly. Yes we would definitely recommend this villa and will be returning again next year!

  We had a lovely time at the villa, we had no problems & there was everything we needed at the villa! Lovely pool area. The beach was only a short walk and is a lovely beach! We loved the 2 restaurants down on the beach aswel! We walked to Lagos & it's about a 30 minute walk. Te Marina is lovely & there are some lovely restaurants & bars. John is very helpful aswel & is always willing to help.

  Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  These are superb villas in an excellent position and perfect for families, couples and with anyone who likes to be near the sea but not far from the town and many other beauty spots worth visiting. The facilities in the villas are truly amazing: large rooms; state of the art bathrooms; kitchens; comfortable bedrooms and beds and plenty of space in the family rooms for everyone to enjoy. The villas are spotlessly clean, airy and an absolute delight to be in. You will not want to go home! The nearby beach has two wonderful restaurants with fish so fresh they seem to jump onto the plate. As always in Portugal, the restaurants generally speaking, are reasonably priced with friendly staff and delicious food. There are many other remote beaches to enjoy and places to visit. All in all, these villas are wonderfully located and a joy to be in .

  Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

  The villa is simply amazing, huge, well fitted, great location just outside of town and 2 minutes walk to the beach. Huge terrace and lipless pool, everything is done to a really high standard, we had a great time. John + Dina were both really helpful, waited for us to arrive at midnight to let us into the villla, gave us directions on the phone when we got lost etc. Would absolutely recommend.
