The property is available during the weeks the owners are traveling. An experienced naturalist guide lives near by; his wife runs a personalized travel agency and also acts as property manager. About the owner: We are a unique family with both US (WI and NY) and Costa Rican roots and heritage.

We chose to retire and live here because of its unparalleled opportunity for living in harmony as much as possible with the environment. The town is small so you get to know people; our property is a perfect size for enjoying large outdoor space including beautiful flower gardens, vegetable garden, fruit trees and native plants. There is an amazing sunset almost every day. Weather is warmer and slightly less rainy than the weather at the Monteverde Reserve (just a couple of miles from here).
The Unique Benefits at this Chateau / Country House:
We built our home! When we purchased this land, it was 1/3 forest and the rest pasture. We have left the forest as-is, have planted hundreds of trees behind our house for reforestation, and converted some of the pasture into gardens and yard space. Over 10yr we have put love, sweat and hard work into making our house our home.
