We had a wonderfully quiet time at the cottage! Was perfect for two couples. Everything worked out well. Television/video equipment dated, but we weren't there to spend a lot of time watching anyway. Lovely weather, great side trips in the area, for instance Cape May. Thank you Rich and Lynn! Just what we were looking for.

Love This Place!
Love This Place!
We rented this cute Cottage By The Bay for 3 days in July. The owner was extremely helpful and courteous with answering all my questions and concerns. My husband, son, daughter-in-law, their baby and I found it to be very comfortable, clean, well kept, and charmingly decorated. It was spacious enough for the 4 of us and the baby. The cottage is located literally within just walking distance to the beach. Every morning it was so pleasant to just get out of bed and walk along the beach. It was so quiet and tranquil. With such friendly neighbors we felt safe and happy there. The pictures on the listing truly reflect the lovely cottage. We appreciated the 2 beach umbrellas that were there, the charcoal grill with plenty of coals and liter fluid, and there’s even a hair dryer in the bathroom! The kitchen worked so well for us since it was well stocked with plenty of dishes, utensils, and even spices. The listing very accurately described its location. The Cottage is just a short drive to Milton with a shopping center as well as Rehoboth Beach. And after enjoying all the fun and busy atmosphere there, it was so pleasant to return to our little cottage for rest and relaxation. I would highly recommend this lovely cottage to anyone who truly wants a quiet, relaxing, comfortable, and away-from-it all stay at the beach. Just remember to bring lots of bug spray since the large beach flies can get pretty annoying. We are already talking about going back there next year, but this time we will stay longer!

Quiet and Relaxing
Quiet and Relaxing
My husband, two children (7 and 10) and I stayed at the Cottage by the Bay for two nights in May, 2013. The community was so quiet! Being able to walk right out to a private community beach was one of the most relaxing things I could imagine. My daughter and I were able to walk to the Broadkill market only three blocks away - the only thing we needed was bug spray and that did the trick for the bugs that were out early in the morning. The Cottage itself was VERY clean, had plenty of towels for our stay and was also very comfortable. It is decorated nicely with cute accents throughout. The children were able to sleep in separate areas of the house and my husband and I had a nice bedroom/bath all to ourselves. The bed was comfy and the kids had no complaints about their beds. Also, the water pressure in the shower was wonderful with plenty of hot water. Rehobeth Beach and Milton were both short drives away and after we were done playing and seeing the sights, we could escape back to our private little cottage. I would highly recommend this Cottage to anyone who would enjoy a relaxing stay at the beach without all the commercial-ness of the more well-known beach areas.

We are so thankful this home was available for our last minute escape for a Sister's retreat on Mother's day weekend. It was our first visit but I think it could become a new tradition. The house is adorable and you feel right at home as soon as you walk in. It was very clean and and comfortable. The location just steps away from the water. There is no better way to start your day than coffee on the little bench at the beach access in the morning. We also visited the town of Lewes which is just a short drive away. I would highly recommend skipping the busy outlets and instead visit the boutiques in Lewes for a much slower paced, leisurely day of shopping. We can't wait to go back!

Perfect summer escape!
Perfect summer escape!
I rented this cute beach cottage for 4 months over summer/fall and loved it. It is well stocked and comfortable. The beach was at our fingertips and never crowded just as we like. Great relaxing beach for all ages. As a bonus, this cottage is in a very welcoming neighborhood ! It was easy to swim and kayak in the bay. If you choose you can leave Broadkill but most days it's not necessary. The general store has lots of character and great donuts on weekends. Milton, Lewes and Rehoboth Beach were great places to shop and explore. We took the Lewes to Cape May Ferry and that was really picturesque. Time it so you come back at sunset and you won't be disappointed. A nice golf course is close by also. I'll be back soon. Laundry services are easily available in Milton, if needed.

About the owner: We have been vacationing at the Delaware beaches for over 30 years and never knew about the hidden gem on the bay that is Broadkill Beach. We visited the area with friends and instantly felt at home. We think you'll love it, too!
Why the Owner Chose Broadkill Beach:
We love the beach and fell in love with this cottage the moment we saw it. We have vacationed at Broadkill Beach with friends and love the relaxed atmosphere there. The quiet neighborhood is perfect for a family retreat and just three houses off the beach!
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Getting to the cottage is an easy drive since the route takes you away from the shore traffic. The best of both worlds, Broadkill Beach is a quiet and secluded place to relax in the sun, and it's also close to the nightlife, restaurants and shopping of the shore points. Also close by are Cape Henlopen State Park, and the Cape May/Lewes Ferry.
