The Medici is a very nice two bedroom apartment in a residential neighborhood. You will feel like a local staying here but expect to walk or take a bus to the center of Florence. Having a fully stocked kitchen and outside patio area make this 10x better than a hotel room. Also, if your plan is to rent a car, street parking is available and easy.

The apartment was lovely. A little small for 5 women with only 1 bath but the kitchen was very roomy and well equipped. We were a little paranoid with the limited utility usage advice. The location was out of town a bit and not too close to a bus line, the garden was closed at night so not an option. The surrounding area was beautiful. We found a neighborhood restaurant 5 minute walk uphill we frequented 3 evenings, I left the card in the guest book. Franchesca was very nice and pleasant, helped us call a cab to the airport. Having an apartment is really the way to go! Thank you Lisa!

The apartment was awesome. I LOVED the location. Florence is great but it was so nice to come back to the apartment on the small, quiet, dead end street. It was so very quiet and that was a welcome relief after sightseeing and the hustle and bustle of the city. The super markets that were close by were so convenient. The nearby taxi stand...great when I did not feel like walking. Oh, the shortcut to the main street, was time saving and not to mention nice on my tired aching feet. The apartment was so clean and well decorated, I felt like a local. I have been to Florence five times before and stayed in hotels. There is no comparison. Talk about more bang for your buck. The apartment is equipped with everything one needs for an enjoyable and safe vacation. You guys thought of everything. My boyfriend was so impressed, I received a marriage proposal so, the Medici will always have a special place in my heart.

We are almost hesitant to give our review of our nine week stay at the Medici apartment in Florence, because we, selfishly, would love to keep it all to ourselves! The location is perfect for its amazing views of the 'old wall', the hills, the lovely neighborhood homes, the great walks thru the grounds of the Art Institute and the easy access by walking or riding the bus from the Porta Romana into the heart of Florence. We truly left our hearts there and would return in a minute. Outdoor markets, stores, restaurants, meat and poultry markets, as well as daily fresh bread bakeries abound. Does it sound like we'd recommend it to a friend? We already have... thanks for making 'magic' happen in Italy.. it really was perfect.

The Medici apartment is a relatively spacious and well-equipped apartment located in a hilly, leafy residential neighborhood of Florence. Since we were traveling with our two young boys (10 and 8 years old), we wanted a vacation home with a place to play, tucked away from the bustle of central Florence, and the Medici provided that. It takes some planning if you wish to cook at home. First, you'll need to acquire all ingredients (including spices). Shops aren't located around the corner or down the street, but a good 15-minute walk with a return trip straight up hill. We also needed to adjust to the vagaries of Italian shop hours. That said, we made some pretty tasty meals. For eating out I'd recommend Antica Porta on via Senese. Also, the Gelateria on the Porta Romana piazza was very good (and a good deal). The 36 or 37 bus will take you just about anywhere you want to go. Piazzale Michelangelo is worth the view (#12 bus) -- and a nice walk back down the hill to the apartment. Learn when the short cut through the Art Institute is open and closed (it will save a lot of time). Francesca, our host, and Italy Perfect took care of everything we asked for. Should we visit Italy again, I wouldn't hesitate to call on them.

An excellent apartment in a perfect location to walk and see all of Florence. The description was very accurate and we were pleasantly met upon arrival. The apartment is within walking distance of all the “big sites” in downtown Florence. Never once, did we feel the need to take a taxi or bus to get downtown as it is only 20-25 minutes by foot to the center of town. We drove our vehicle and it was easy to find parking and then provided easy access (within 2 hours) to Siena and "The Chianti Road". The interior of the apartment is immaculately and professionally maintained; possesses a very comfortable and pleasant/relaxing atmosphere inside with the furniture/decor. As a result, we felt very comfortable inside unlike other apartments we've rented. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at this apartment again if we return to Florence someday. Highly recommended! We stayed at the Medici in the Oltrano district for 2 weeks. The Oltrano is a wonderful area to explore away from the frenzy of that which people call Florence! The one drawback was that the apartment was quite a walk to the nearest bus stop, through a park which had gates that closed in the evening. Having said that the Porta Romana was a great transportation hub and we bought a 20 euro bus pass which was perfect. Don't miss the chance to take the bus to Fiesole and see the Etruscan ruins and a breathtaking view of Florence! The apartment salon is filled with light in the evening and a well equipped kitchen.

We loved this location in Florence. Everything was within walking distance and we looked forward to walking through the park to the calm and quiet of the neighbourhood after a busy day in the city. The apartment is tastefully furnished and well equipped. Italy Perfect made sure the experience was positive - very organized. Having a personal greeter (part of the service) added to the experience. We were able to ask questions about directions, shopping and restaurants upon arrival (in English) and felt we always had someone to call. We have already recommended this accommodation to friends who plan to travel to Florence next year. We would definitely return to the Medici apartment.

Everything was so lovely. Just as we had hoped after looking at your website. Francesca was so kind and very thorough ... We felt well equipped to do laundry, cook etc. The apartment was clean and tidy!! We rented bikes for the week we were there and it was ALWAYS a delight to come "home" to a cool, quiet place in the mid/late afternoon. We felt rejuvenated after spending a week there! Many many thanks.

The information you sent me via email was filled with everything we could possibly need to know. Not just about the apartment but about Florence. Your tips on places to see, how to get there, suggestions on where to eat were perfect. I used this information to plan our four days in Florence. When we arrived I felt as if I knew exactly where to go, how to get there and all the ins and outs needed. The apartment was perfect, very clean, so nicely decorated and a wonderful patio. Our son cooked our dinner there the first two nights, getting our food and wine at places that you recommended in your materials. One evening we strolled to the deli not very far from our apartment and came back with a wonderful dinner and a great bottle of wine. Thanks so much for the tip about the shortcut to the piazza. The last night there we went to a restaurant you listed in your information, Terrazza del Principe and had the most beautiful view as we indulged in a magnificent dinner. Everything from the phone call to greeter to the returning of the key to Francesca was absolutely perfect. Hence the name "Italy Perfect". You do not miss a step, you had everything totally covered for us as guest in your apartment. We loved being outside of the walls of Florence. It could not have been any quieter at night. It was so exciting to get up in the morning, open the shutters and feel Italy. After a day in the busy city of Florence it was so nice to go home to a comfortable bed, and the great patio. We chose to drive in from Milan. The parking was just as you explained and we had no problem finding a spot near the apartment. We left the car there for the four days, paying via the meter and had no problem at all. A couple of times we took the taxi and that worked out very well. Thank you Lisa for the work you have put in to make our visit pleasant. Going to a country where you do not speak the language, nor are you versed in their ways, having the information that you have complied for us was "Italy Perfect".

I just wanted to write and let you know how much we loved the Medici apartment. Our time in Italy would have been that much less wonderful had we not found Italy Perfect and that lovely place to stay. The Bobolino neighborhood was exceptional as was everything else in the surrounding area. In the future we will consider your services for when we inevitably return to Italy and will definitely recommend you and your colleagues to our friends and loved ones who may plan to do the same. Thanks again & ciao!Aaron Hallquist - Massachusetts

We spent two lovely weeks in the Medici Apartment in Florence. The charming flat was perfect for us (just 2 of us but could comfortably accommodate 4 people.) We have rented apartments in Italy before--Florence, Venice, Rome and the country side, and the Medici was one of the nicest. Plusses included a very well- equipped kitchen, decent reading lights and peace and quiet--no noise from the motorini as the Medici is located in a peaceful, residential neighborhood with small private lanes and gardens. We woke up with the bird song in the morning and looked out our bedroom window at the old walls and tower of the Boboli gardens. The terrace was an added attraction for dinner (but the mosquitos had their dinner too)! Inside, the mosquito repellant devices worked very well. It was a bit warm in Florence the first week we were there, but the Medici apartment sits on a little hill and gets a beautiful cooling breeze--the apartment was always comfortable. We love to cook, and enjoyed shopping for our dinner at the local vegetable stand, the butchers and fish market on Via Sienese and the lovely alementari in the neighborhood or near Santo Spirito. The neighbors--Allessandro and Allessandra were charming, and since my husband speaks pretty good Italian, we were able to have some interesting conversations and were invited to see the "secret" garden they and their daughter are building. Their daughter lives above the Medici apartment and is a professional flautist with the Florence symphony orchestra--her practice sessions were like having our own private recital--no scales and mistakes, just beautiful music. The only drawback to the apartment is that it is a bit of a walk to the central part of Florence and coming back is up hill--so we sometimes took the bus to save our feet--especially when carrying the groceries. We did walk on most days which was good exercise and helped work off the gelato. The short cut through the park is a lovely stroll. Italy Perfect is a well-run company, the greeter and property manager were very cordial and helpful. The apartment was exactly as represented on the web site and we would not hesitate to use Italy Perfect for our next trip. We may go to Paris in the next year and would certainly explore options with the sister company, Paris Perfect. All in all, a charming and peaceful home away from home. Barbara and Doug Davidson

The Medici apartment was in a great location – very quiet, in the Bobolini district abutting directly to the wall of the Boboli Gardens. In was a quick walk to Porta Romana, (then onto the Ponte Vecchia) through the grounds of the Arts College, but we enjoyed the route to town along the ‘scented lanes’ and the Oltrano East district. We walked all over Florence, saw all the important churches, but my favourite was San Miniato al Monte, 20 minutes distant from the apartment with incredible views over Florence. Saved half a day for the Uffizi, which was incredible – Renaissance overload. Loved the food, wine and ice cream. Big recommendations are Terazza del Principe for food, Enoteca Bar Fuori Porta for wine and the little ice cream shop on Via Romana opposite the Pitti Palace. Although I forgot to rub the boar’s nose, I’m sure we’ll be back. Darran Lucas, Dallas Texas

The accommodations were beautiful-well-appointed, roomy, comfortable, clean. We enjoyed retreating to the quiet and cool of the apartment after a day of sightseeing. Although off the beaten track, the apartment provides an apartment to get away from the crowds and to feel part of a neighbourhood. Tip: If at Piazza di Michelangelo, don't go down the hill but follow the road signs for Porta Romana, a most enjoyable and picturesque walk. Our greeter was extremely helpful in showing us the apartment, especially helping us get our laptop on line. Lesley Clement, Orillia, ON Canada

The Medici apartment was simply wonderful for our 7 night visit to Florence. Thank you Lisa for all your assistance during the planning stages of our vacation and Francesca for welcoming us with a warm smile, the service we received from Italy Perfect was exceptional. The three of us ladies were comfortable in our own beds and we all thought the shower was great! The kitchen had all the tools and even some supplies to cook dinner, we cooked meals twice (fresh pasta with sausages from mercato central, so yummy, and fresh chicken stuffed with herbs another night). There are several little shops all around so shopping is easy, fresh fruit and a market were handy down the road in porta roma. The best part was the beautiful terrace which we enjoyed every evening with vino and cheese. The weather was warm and sticky a few days but our laundry dried in no time with the breezes on the terrace. The neighbors were friendly but we didn’t see much of them.We enjoyed the location, it was very peaceful and yet so close to down town Florence. We had no problem at tobacco shop getting bus tickets, also enjoyed their cappuccino a few mornings. We took a few taxi’s too, in the evening it was 9 euros from piazza della repubblica (taxi stands) to the apartment, it was slightly less during the day.Everything about our trip, the apartment, the neighborhood and the service provided by Italy Perfect was what we hoped, perfect. Thank you for the memories. See our review for the Angelina apartment in Rome (VRBO #101521) where we stayed during out second week, it was also wonderful. Anne, Janene & Mom, Burlington, MA

Our four night stay in the Medici apartment was everything that we hoped it would be. The apartment itself is lovely - and it is located in a beautiful neighborhood on a quiet street. The terrace literally abuts the old stone walls of Florence. It was a treat to live away from the center of the city and to feel a bit like Italians, even if only for a few nights. The stroll from the apartment up Via Belvedere to the Piazzale Michaelangelo was breathtaking - - the city literally unfolds before your eyes during this walk. We can't wait to return! Amy K. We had a very nice stay in the Medici Apt. After having been in Firenze many many times, I can honestly say that the neighborhhod was the lovliest of all. Most afternoons when we returned home, beautiful flute music could be heard from above and a lovely cello down the street. We enjoyed the wonderful garden out back and enjoyed catching some sun in the front at the end of the day. Chris loved playing his mandolin out back and struck up a conversation with the next door neighbor on several occasions. The accomodations were very good and comfortable. The bathroom was easy to use and the kitchen too. Having a washer/dryer was a huge help to us! I will say that if you are a person that does not like to walk or use a bus, this apartment is not for you. It is about a 25 minute walk from the center of town. Lisa was very clear with us before we went that there would be a lot of walking involved so we were prepared. Overall, the apt was a nice place to come home to at night and it is VERY quiet which is not always so easy to find in the city. Thanks again Lisa!

Our stay at the Medici apartment was just perfect. The neighborhood, Oltrarno, is part of Florence yet because it's just over the bridge, it was much more low key and quiet. We loved the location next to a beautiful garden and ancient brick wall. The apartment itself was very comfortable for us and our two children (ages 10 and 13). They enjoyed all the movies you furnished in the apartment - you'd think we'd be too busy for that - but we would have full days of sightseeing and come back for a couple hours of rest and a little TV time before heading out again. All the information you provided was very helpful. The kitchen was nicely equipped and we had breakfast at home every day and once, we made dinner. My favorite activity was food shopping at the "supermercato" - the one close to the Porta Romano. Your greeter, Francesca, was so helpful and explained everything about the apartment, appliances, etc. As far as restaurant recommendations - in our opinion, you cannot have a bad meal in Florence!! Really, anywhere you walk into will have delicious food. We ate most nights at trattorias in central Florence and had wonderful food always!! One thing that surprised us is how early stores/gelaterias close for the night. We feel that you do a fantastic job managing your apartments and we would love to plan another trip to Florence and stay again at one of your apartments. Marc & Lori R. Dobbs Ferry, NY

Loved the accommodations and thank you for making a cell phone available. We also were thankful to have the greeters there for our check in and out. Both were wonderful and very helpful. Please give them us our best wishes and our thanks again as well. Lisa, you also did and continue to do a fabulous job for those lucky guests who choose your service. While my husband prefers to stay in a boutique hotel, I perferred your flat. I loved shopping by the Arch, just being in Florence and want to come back again someday and bring perhaps my brother or my niece and stay for a couple of weeks. We loved the location and it was very easy for us to get taxi service, which was a real bonus for us. I think you made arrangements for us personally and we thank you and all of our taxi drivers who were kind, patient and best of all, great drivers. Also, I loved all of your materials in the basket for us to review. It helped. We ended up not going to the outlets and instead went to Siena and San G. and I loved that whole day; it was truly an amazing trip. Many thanks again for all you do. Lauren & Bernd K. Sarasota, FL

We had a wonderful time in Florence and the apartment was just what I expected from the pictures on your website. The neighborhood was quiet and peaceful and even though there was an unexpected heat wave in September, the apartment was always cool and relaxing. Our excursion with Maurizio to the Tuscan countryside was one of the highlights of our trip, we can't thank him enough for taking us to his cousin's vineyard and explaining to us the process of making wine. August 2008 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Medici Apartment in Firenze! It was well located away from the tourist crowds with only a short walk to a lovely little fruit and vegetable stand. The fish market, deli, bakery, butcher and supermarket were all nearby. It was most pleasant to take our evening meal in the lovely garden, and relax after a long day of sightseeing. The apartment is extremely well appointed with all anyone could want, especially in the kitchen. The little extras were well appreciated. A special thank you to Maurizo who was most helpful in finding me a dentist within a few hours of our arrival! We also spent a wonderful day of sightseeing with him in the Chanti Classico Region. Again, thank you for making our first week in Italy-- Perfect! I look forward to when we are able to book from your company again. Edna & Peter B New Brunswick, Canada
