6 of us (5 adults, 1 child) stayed for a week at this amazing home just a few minutes walk from Playa Ocotal. The home easily sleeps 8 and is both spacious, comfortable, and well furnished. The grounds and pool are immaculate! The housekeeper, Elsie, made our beds each day, did laundry, and cleaned the kitchen. The kitchen was well-stocked and had everything we needed to cook in. (There are two grocery stores just a 5 minute drive away, as well as a fish market). We had access to the beach club just 100 yards off the beach, so we could rinse off or enjoy a lunch there when we had our fill of sun and sand. We also checked out the bigger beach club (with a fitness center, restaurant, and larger pool) in Coco...very nice! Overall we were very pleased with this home and we enjoyed the calm waters and tide pools of Ocotal. The waves weren't as big as some of the other beaches we visited, which was good for my six year old. The walk to the beach from the house (8-10 minutes) might be a bit strenous for some as the walk back is uphill; if you have a rental car, problem solved! I definitely recommend this property!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

For anyone considering a stay at Pura Vida Villa, we highly recommend it. Our group of seven was comfortable in the spacious accommodations and pleasantly surprised to find the home came with its own housekeeper. It was fantastic to not have to do the dishes or make beds. She even did our laundry for us! Everything we were promised prior to our arrival was exactly what we found when we arrived. The home was in a safe, gated community and only a short walk to the beaches and private beach club. The pool in the backyard was clean and had a bar and seating area around it, which made it one of our favorite spots to relax during our stay. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the owner's representatives, who were extremely helpful and courteous taking the time to show us everything the community had to offer. They even offered numerous suggestions as to where to dine and what to do in the area. We took them up on a few of their suggestions and are happy we did because they were among the highlights of our trip. The day pass to Rincon de la vieja National Park was amazing - zip lining, white water tubing, horseback riding and hot springs were all worth the short trek to the park. And their suggestion to dine at 'Gingers' in a nearby town was also a great one, as it provided us the opportunity to try native dishes in a safe and fun atmosphere. When we found ourselves downtown after too many cocktails, there were plenty of cabs available to get us home safely. For anyone considering a stay at Pura Vida Villa, I highly recommend you plan on staying an extra few days because you will not want to leave. This place is the definition of paradise.
