Owner info
Year Purchased: 2012
About the owner: My love for the Cape began at 5 years old when my parents took us camping in a small tent in Nickerson State Park. Progressing from camping to renting to owning property in Orleans, vacationing on the Cape became our annual family ritual… never to be missed! I am excited to have just spent my 50th consecutive summer on the Cape and grow more in love with it with each year! My husband and 3 grown children have caught the Cape fever as well! They never miss an opportunity to cross the canal for a “Cape Escape”. Whether it is boating, biking, lobster fishing, surfing, or reading a book on the beach….. they find endless possibilities for relaxation. The past few years, I have spent the entire summer helping to manage my parents’ rental property in Orleans. I know how precious a long awaited family vacation is. I take pride in striving to treat all our renters as invited guests to meet or exceed their expectations as they arrive to a clean, comfortable, inviting home. As the saying goes… “If you once get the sand of the Cape in your shoes.. you will always return.”
Why the Owner Chose Orleans:
It was love at first sight!.... My husband and I were excited to have purchased our own Cape property in August, 2012 as a “diamond in the rough”. Looking beyond the overgrown trees and a long list of needed renovations and improvements, we set out to develop our own punch list to transform this unique house and property into our dream vacation home. In renovating and decorating this house, we carefully planned our improvements with the goal of maintaining the original style and broad appeal of the iconic A-Frame vacation style home popularized in the 60’s. The distinctive A-Frame style surged in popularity in the post WW II era as a modern, stylish, architectural and cultural phenomenon that symbolized relaxation and enjoyment of the “Good Life”. We welcome you as our guests!
The Unique Benefits at this Chalet:
Close proximity to everything - - yet incredibly secluded and quiet. Uncle Harveys Pond is literally steps from your front door. The dead end location provides for no traffic except for an occasional visitor to view the pond from the street. Across the street is a 7 acre tract of wooded land dedicated to the Orleans Conservation Trust. It is truly a very special place.
