We really enjoyed our stay at the Pyramid. A great romantic getaway for two. We hit the fall colors just right. We have stayed in quite a few VRBO's, and this was right up there with the best. It was clean and well equipped, the kitchen was nice, the shower was excellent, and the hot tub on the deck was a nice bonus. Star gazing at altitude in Colorado is awesome, and to do it from your hot tub on the deck is just that much better. We are from Colorado and always looking for a place with view. The view from the Pyramid was even better than we expected; nearly 360 degrees of awesome mountain views right from the deck, and the scenery around Telluride is some of the best in the world. I agree with some of the other reviews that probably the main downside is that the sleeping areas get really hot on a sunny day. We were ok in the fall, but it might be a little too hot in the summer, at least if you tried to go to bed too early. We were able to get it cooled off well before bedtime, and we selected to sleep on the bed under the windows so we could star gaze from bed. That was awesome, too. I would definitely recommend this for a fall/spring romantic getaway, and as a home base for San Juan sight-seeing. There's a good chance we'll be back.

The pictures don't do it justice, amazingly. Nothing quite like relaxing in the hot tub or bed with a full-on view of Mt. Wilson's famous face (recognize it from the Coors can?). We very much enjoyed our honeymoon here. It's far enough away to feel like you are "getting away from it all," without really being so far from neighbors that you feel too remote. Telluride is an easy 25 minute drive and we got some beautiful fall color out here. The house has some minor quirks -- the heater makes a fair amount of noise that can be unsettling the first night, but it certainly works well and you get used to it as soon as you figure out it's the heater. This didn't detract from how lovely the pyramid house is: the view of the stars from the second bed is what you'd get camping out in the open wilderness. We slept under the full moon and it actually woke me up with its brightness -- a sight to behold! The cabin comes with great amenities: an enormous new shower with HOT water and good pressure, gas grill with high-quality tools, dishwasher, small washer & dryer, wifi, updated kitchen. One word to the wise -- unless you and another couple are very close, I would not treat this as a 2BR even though there are 2 beds: no doors to be found between them. I am anxious to return and really hope we can come back here next year. Thank you so much for a wonderful, comfortable and unforgettable stay!

The pyramid house on Wilson Mesa made for a peaceful week of honeymoon. 30 minutes or less to drive to Telluride or trailheads in the aspens and wilderness. I definitely will use this rental again if I plan another extended stay in the Telluride area.

This "cabin" is a great place for a mountain retreat. The modern amenities, including flat screen televisions, a washer/dryer, steam shower, and fully functional kitchen make it a very comfortable place to stay, and the panoramic mountain views from the cabin are amazing. One of the sleeping areas has windows all around, allowing for great star-watching as you fall asleep. In addition to many deer, during my stay I saw a herd of about 200 elk in the meadow behind the cabin, so it is a great place for the wildlife enthusiast. There are only two things that I would point out as negatives: 1) during my visit, in the summer, the upstairs area (the sleeping area) got very hot during the day due to the large windows, and 2) the cabin isn't as secluded as it might appear; although on three sides there are expansive views for as far as the eye can see, to the north there is a large house about 100 yards away (however, I rarely saw or heard anyone at the house). Overall, this is a great place to stay if you are looking for a comfortable cabin in a beautiful location, and the price was quite reasonable as well.

Idilic location to relax and enjoy the beauty of mountains and nature. The studio had great imenities and we loved the openness to the loft area and bedrooms. And the hot tub was hot! Perfect after riding motorcycles all day. I would definitely stay again. The herd of elk was something else...very cool place.

My husband and I absolutely LOVED our 1st anniversary at the little cabin! We enjoyed our first evening in the ready-to-go hot tub while listening to bugling elk in the distance. When we woke up the next morning there was a field full of 100+ elk. Every morning and every evening for the rest of our stay there was elk in the field below. Also, there was a few mule deer less than 20 yards from the cabin that 1st morning. There was also a couple of chipmunks constantly hanging around the cabin. We really enjoyed being so close to all the wildlife. The cabin was absolutely the perfect size for the two of us. The steam shower was AHH-mazing! It was the perfect distance from Telluride for dinner in the evening. The only small downside (and I do mean only and very small downside) is that it got pretty hot during the day in the loft (bedroom areas) of the cabin. It is kind of a love/hate relationship we had with those windows. It would get so steamy hot BUT we loved the views the windows provided. We loved being able to look at the moon and stars at night, the pretty sunrise in the mornings, and the elk. But be prepared to bring a fan, especially if you go in the summertime. The cabin had 3 fans there and we had them all going plus one be brought from home (due to another review below suggesting we take a fan). It is just one of those things you have to deal with and believe me we would do it again in a heartbeat. We loved the cabin and the surrounding areas and we hope we can come back again someday. God's creation is so awesome!

We were here for memorial day weekend and I can not begin to describe how amazing and beautiful of a location this house is at. It truly is like living in a beautiful painting and feels very secluded and private. It only took us about 20 min to get to downtown Telluride for any night life or resturante you may want to eat at. The hot tub has amazing veiws and was warm and ready for us when we arrived and very clean. The house is very clean and has a lot of up to date finishes I was not expecting including a very nice steam shower. There is a washer and dryer there which also proved to be very helpful. The mid and top bed areas can get a little toasty during the day this time of year so bringing a small fan would of probably helped and we only had a few towels there so I would recommend bringing a few extra of your own if you dont want to have to be doing laundry while there. The satilite TVs in all areas and the free wifi were other little touches that made our trip that much more enjoyable. We couldnt have asked for a more private and beautiful spot to vacation and definitely plan on coming back.

This place met all of our needs and provided a comfortable and relaxing vacation. The house was as advertised and we arrived with the heat on (it was chilly the date we checked in). The hot tub was ready to go as well :) The location was perfect and provided amazing views from all windows. This is a terrific house and we will be back again as soon as we are able!

The Pyramid House is conveniently located to Telluride airport (25min. ish) (which is another adventure in itself, Cheers! to the Cockpit crew of Great Lakes), after flying into that airport, what better way to start a holiday than a wicked mountain side drive en route to the Pyramid which is quite the painting coming to life, as night fell it became VanGogh's "Starry Night", (never got pass my count of 6 stars, "zzzzzz") in the brilliance of the day, was that of an Ansel Adams (winter scene), both leaving you visually speechless. The proximity to the Town of Telluride (30mins), proper and all it’s shopping, pubs, people watching, great dining (did not have a bad meal at all, well done!!), Mountain Village (15-20 mins), etc., is unnoticed by the view. Indeed, after a day on the slopes was great to return to the absolute peaceful surrounds, and the hot tub on deck whilst soaking it all away with an Aperitif of choice, made all the bumps, bruises worth it, or a good steam in the skylight shower, ahhhhhhh!, eventually, followed by quite the good nights rest on two very comfortable beds (was very relieved). And in today's economy, this was money well spent. Might I suggest you find your season and get your "Zen" on under the Pyramid. Cheers!
