Family of 11 stay
Family of 11 stay
My family (6 adults and 5 children) stayed for one week this summer. We loved the large back yard to play in and the fire pit. The kids especially enjoyed the pool table and ping pong table. We also appreciated the proximity to the Breezy Point Resort and enjoyed the live music that they provide. There were, however significant concerns. The water in the hot tub was very dirty upon our arrival and there were no chemicals available. Even after the caretaker delivered chemicals for the tub, it did not clear up and looked nasty all week. In addition, screens were missing from nearly every upper level window which made it a safety concern for young children not to mention no option to open windows. The caretaker did respond to our concerns immediately and replace the screens. Even though it had been clearly negotiated as part of our rental, the key to the Breeze Point pool was not available. This was frustrating. The dock was extremely weedy to the extent to which we could not dock our boat and needed to tether it from the end of the dock and let it float out in the water. Finally, we were very disappointed in the maintenance of the home. It was clean but very shabby. The walls were dirty and sorely in need of fresh paint. The wall paper was peeling everywhere. The mattresses on the kids beds in the bunk bed room did not have mattress protectors on them which is really gross on kids beds. It was very musty and smelly down stairs (I would think due to a dirty hot tub and pee on the mattresses). Overall we liked the area and appreciated the responsiveness of the caretakers but will not be returning.

Manager response: In response to this lady, I did my best to resolve all her issues as the property manager. I spoke to the owner of this property and was able to give the tennant cash back. The owner is very easy to deal with when it comes to taking care of issues as he has 25+ houses. I have been working on fixing issues with this house and it's in the process of getting bids for painting. This was the tail end of the summer and it usually will need painting as renters are always hard on the walls. I did have the hard wood floors resurfaced and it looks beautiful! Theres not much I can do about the weeds, I have a photo on there to show people how it will look and I never get complaints about it as I tell them it's not a swimming beach. As far as the resort pool, this house does not come with their pool, occasionally I will give out my pool pass however I did not make it up there that week. I was willing to pay the fee for them to use Breezy Points pool or the lodge pool which has waterslides however they declined it. The hot-tub, it will no longer be available and I'm no longer advertising it. Too many issues related to it, wallpaper peeling, smells etc. I do appreciate any and all complaints as I only manage his 5 Breezy Point houses and I like to keep up on them. It's pretty rare to find a price like this for a 5 bedroom house on the water with a beaufiful view located in very popular resort. Again I'm sorry for any inconvenience. Tania
Great house, weedy dock
Great house, weedy dock
Our family of 8 adults/6 kids had a great week at the lake house. The full size fridge downstairs was a huge bonus! Our favorite parts were the huge flat yard with fire pit and the screened porch; we had all our meals out there. The grill was great and easy to use right off the lower walk out. The kids loved the ping pong/pool and we had enough room to spread out and sleep comfortably. The shower and powder room downstairs also helped. The laundry water did leave a little bit of a rusty smell, but not a big deal. We had plenty of parking and the roads were great for walking. It took a bit to get the key to the resort worked out, but we were happy to have the resort pool available. Our deal-breaker was that the dock area was heavily weeded, so no swimming or jet ski from the dock. We were able to catch some fish there, but having to divide up to use the jet ski or swim from the crowded resort shore was tough for our group. We also had to hookup our own system, the DVD player didn’t work. Kitchen supplies and appliances were pretty good for cooking. There were plenty of bath towels once we found them in the laundry, but we still used our beach towels inside too. We had to restock supplies like toilet paper, hand soap, dish soap (but did have a lot of people) and ran low on plates and glasses. Décor was maybe a little dated, but kept up and clean. Tania was great to work with and responded quickly to our questions. If not for the weeds, we would be back this year.

Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.
In 2010 we spent a weekend at this house for my husbands 40th birthday. The house was clean, roomy and perfect for the 10 person event. We loved it so much we rented it for his birthday in 2011 as well. The house looked exactly like the pictures and the description was perfect. The owner was responsive and very helpful. The house is near the beach, golf, gas, food and the backyard has a dock, which is so helpful. The house if perfect and the owner was awesome. Will stay there year after year.

Dear Tonia, We had a wonderful week. The lake home met all of our expectations. Thank you so much for helping with the arrangements. I am sorry I was not there when you stopped by. The key to the pool was very important to us, we used it most days. We are looking at booking again in July of 2009. The house had the amount of room and amenities that we need. We utilized the lake and boat etc. a fair amount also. Thanks for being so prompt with all of our questions and arranging things for us.

My family and extended family stayed at the Lake House over Labor Day weekend '07. What a great time we had. There's so much to do in the house, with the pool table, hot tub, two big screen TV's and screened-in porch. It was a beautiful weekend this year, so we mostly enjoyed the outdoors and Lake Pelican this trip, but if it had been inclement weather, we still would have had plenty to do. We look forward to going back to the Lake House sometime soon. Thanks for everything.
