Our newly decorated apartment at Golden Bear Lodge (GBL) offers guests the perfect getaway from your busy life back at home. If you are looking for a peaceful vacation in a quiet setting, you are coming to the right place. Start your day enjoying a beautiful sunrise over the turquoise waters of the Caribbean sea. Whether you decide to explore the majestic Cap Cana complex, play a round of Golf at the World recognized Punta Espada Golf Course or stay reading a book at the GBL infinity pool, you may end your day with your favorite beverage in hand savoring a Caribbean sunset.
GBL 13211/13212 is a relaxing and unique 2,600 sq/ft apartment with ocean and golf views from 3 separate terraces. GBL is located inside the Cap Cana complex which has been recognized and featured in Luxury Vacations Magazine.
The apartment was professionally furnished in late 2012. Kitchen is fully equipped. The spacious master bedroom includes a day bed for an additional person, a flat screen TV, IPOD dock station and a very comfortable closet area. The master bathroom includes a double sink, Jacuzzi, bidet and an open double shower. The master bedroom has access to a private balcony that features a cozy plunge pool and a chase lounge.
The second bedroom has 2 queen size beds, private bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette, flat screen TV, large dresser and IPOD dock station. This bedroom has independent access to a fully furnished large terrace.
In between the 2 bedrooms, enjoy the spacious and beautifully decorated living area that features a large dining room table and access to the largest of the three terraces.
The apartment can be rented in 3 ways;
a) Entire unit (sleeps 6-8 persons)
b) Master bedroom and living area (sleeps 3-4)
c) Studio/guest room only (sleeps 2-4)

Scape 2 Cap Cana is the organization within the Cap Cana premises that coordinates most tours, group events and outdoor fun. They currently offer yacht charters, catamaran tours, snorkeling tours, dune buggie tours, adventure packages, horseback riding, kayak tours and access to zip lining tours.

The Marina at Cap Cana is a fully operational facility with space for yacths up to 150 feet in size and offers deep sea fishing charters among other marina services. The marina premises contain mixed use facilities with a variety of gourmet restaurants and boutique shops.
The main beach open to GBL guests is Juanillo beach. You can walk 1.5 miles from GBL, take the shuttle or drive yourself to this beautiful 2+ mile stretch of white sand and turquoise waters. The Juanillo beach has a restaurant/pub on the beach with service to guests at your lounge chair. Adjacent to Juanillo beach, you will find the impressive Sanctuary boutique hotel which has multiple restaurants and stores for walk-in guests.

My family and I stayed here in January 2013, and it was exactly what we were looking for, a relaxing getaway. The accomodations were spacious, and the view spectacular. The resort pool was generally completely uncrowded...I was even able to swim some laps a couple times. We also used the tennis courts a couple times. The staff was friendly. Good for families and couples who want to get away...not so much for singles who are looking for a big party scene on the premises. We don't golf, but this would be an amazing place for golfers, as it is right next to two world-class golf courses. I jogged by the ocean-side holes and they are incredible. I would recommend renting a car. This is easily done at the airport, and allows you to come and go as you please. Driving is no problem...as in any developing country, road rules are "flexible", but if you drive defensively you will be fine. If you want to hit the beach, you will want to have a car. We went to Juanillo Beach first. This is a very nice beach about five minutes drive away with a restaurant. We also went to Playa Blanca, which was also nice, and less than 15 minutes. The restaurant there even has free wi-fi, and there are plenty of lounge chairs in the shade. Both of these beaches are great for kids of any age. Playa Blanca is within the Punta Cana resort area, so you will have to stop at the checkpoint, get a visitor's pass, and leave your driver's license with them. There is no charge for this. We also ventured to Playa Macao, about 40 minutes to the north. This beach is uncrowded on a weekday, and there is relatively big surf. Only older kids/strong swimmers should venture too far in. There is a rustic restaurant and surf school there, too. We also went to the Escape Park, which is just five minutes from this apartment at Golden Bear. There we had great adventure driving dune buggies, ziplining through the canopy, and swimming at the clearest swimming hole I've ever seen. Your first stop after renting the car is the grocery store which is just a couple minutes from the airport. There you can stock up on food, since there are cooking accomodations in the apartment. The food at Golden Bear is okay, but you will get tired of going there for every meal. We enjoyed our stay at this resort!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

This apartment is amazing, beautifully decorated and spacious. There were 5 of us and all agreed that this is the place for a peaceful vacation. The golf courses, restaurants, and beaches are great and the staff is very friendly and put up with our lack of the Spanish language. The roads are great and the airport is only 5 miles away. We were sad to say good-bye but can't wait to return soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
