- A minature golf course is only a few blocks away and if it's professional golf your after the World Golf Village is where you need to be only a short 15-20 minute drive away. There are so many fine restaurants to choose from, most within a 3-5 minute drive. Winn Dixie and Publix stores are less then 3 minutes away if you would like to have an enjoyable meal at home. The alligator farm and zoo are a must see, you can't leave without ziplining the zoo. While here don't miss seeing the light house, climbing to the top and seeing the spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. If it's live entertainment your after, there is always something offered, either at the beach, in one of the local pubs, or at the amphitheater. You can not leave St Augustine without seeing some of the local history. It is just a short 15 minute drive to the Oldest City in the nation of St Augustine. Walk the streets where Spanish Ancestors once walked, see the oldest school house, visit and tour the still standing forts, take a narrated train ride tour or carriage ride through the streets to learn about it's vast history. The shopping of St George Street is unique with lots of specialty shops, restaurants and pubs. You may want to take one of the ghost tours offered here or perhaps see the Pirate Museum. Don't forget to stop by the Fountain Of Youth and the Old Jail for an interesting bit of history. For shopping there are 2 outlet malls which are a great way to spend a day. For boating try the marina. There is so much to see and do you may want to plan your next visit for #2304 at the Ocean and Racquet Resort before you leave. ...moreless

This condo is as pictured in the photographs and is lovely. We arrived late and the management was very organized with our info packet and key, which was left with security at the gate. The evening gate fellow is terrific - very welcoming and friendly. A very short walk to the beach -essentially just through the parking lot. The kitchen was well equipped and we cooked each day of our stay. Instructions to use the tv are a bit complex, and in our case, they didn't work anyway because the cable box was out of service, however maintenance arrived quickly and sorted out a work-around for our short stay, which worked perfectly. When we booked our stay, they told us it was scheduled for a deep clean at that time and then moved those dates around to accommodate us. I asked if the unit was clean and I was assured that it was. Turns out that our only issue was the level of cleanliness, but keep in mind that we have very high standards. I got the feeling that it had been vacant for a long time before our stay because there was a layer of dust/grit on floors, counters, etc. My bare feet were dirty not long after arriving. We notified management in the morning and they sent housekeeping over to do the floors and offered to clean whatever else we wanted, but I had already wiped down the counters & stove, etc. There were light bulbs 'missing' from two lamps, but we bought some the evening we arrived and rectified that (we like brightly lit rooms). Only other issue was the long blond hairs I found (too often) ... on the towels and on the bedspread. Found these issues disappointing given that we paid a cleaning fee. The property is due for a deep clean, and I have no doubt that this management team will take care of this. As far as other reviewers comments about lack of supplies, there is a Dollar Tree and Publix just down the street to buy inexpensive dish soap, laundry soap, toilet paper, or whatever you need.

Manager response: Thank you very much for the nice review. The cleaning issues will be discussed by me with the manager of Ocean and Racquet Resort. I will also forward this review to her.
The room was beautifully redecorated and very nice. However, the listing was very misleading. The listing had oceanfront and very few steps to the beach. The condo wasn't oceanfront nor was it very few steps to the beach. The only place that you could see the ocean was from the very top right hand corner of the bedroom window. It was also a very long walk to the beach considering packing umbrellas, chairs, etc.

This was our first stay in St. Augustine and we definitely enjoyed the condo. It was updated as shown in the pictures. Very nice. The beach was beautiful. The property was convenient to shopping, etc. The stairs were not a problem for us, but keep in mind this is a third floor unit. We would certainly stay again.

Just what we were looking for
Just what we were looking for
The unit is just as described. The view of the ocean is not great (you can barely see it) but it is a well maintained small condo that is an easy walk to the beach or pool. For the price you can't beat it. We have stayed in St. Augustine numerous times and paid much more for places that were half as nice. If value and comfort is what you are looking for this is a great option.

Manager response: Thank you for the great review!! Because the unit is angled back from the water the view of the ocean is best from the bedroom window. None of the units on St Augustine beach are right at the ocean itself. There are dunes that you walk over by your private beach approach to get to the beach and ocean. This unit has one of the better views of the ocean being a south side unit allows opportunity to see beautiful sunsets.
Our stay at the condo was great!! There were four adults and we were very comfortable in the space. The kitchen was well equipped and we even cooked one night. The area is 45 minutes or so to the Jacksonville Airport which is very convenient for the out of towners. Easy access to the beach within a short walking distance and the beach is beautiful. Also easy access into St Augustine. Loved the trolley tour; free pick up for the trolley is available at the front gate. We highly recommend Saltwater Cowboy for dinner. We will definitely be back!!

Lovely, clean modern condo
Lovely, clean modern condo
The condo was a two bedroom with nice updates and it was very clean. We loved the beach, pool and tennis. It is a short ride to Old St. Augustine and lots of restaurants. There is a kitchen for breakfast and lunch and a grocery store nearby for incedentals. Would recommend to a friend.

Amazing and Relaxing!
Amazing and Relaxing!
Our family of four had an awesome experience staying at this lovely two bedroom condo! The king size bed in the Master suite was sooo comfortable I did not want to get out of bed! The decor was perfect for a condo by the beach, and everything was very clean and neat. We loved the hot tub, (which we always had to ourselves) and the short walk to the beach was enjoyed especially by my husband who walked the beach early every morning. Being just a short drive to everything we wanted to do made our days full of fun instead of driving. Though we only had a view of the ocean a bit from our bedroom window we enjoyed falling asleep to the sound of it at night. The only negative was that we had to haul all our luggage up to the third floor, no elevator, but we quickly got over that when we walked into the beautiful room! We made many pleasant memories and hope to be back again!

The property is exactly as pictured on the listing. Very nice condo with comfortable beds and a well equipped kitchen. The only major disappointment was the view. From the listing, we understood the condo to be ocean front and/or to have an ocean view, per the statement "You will also be able to enjoy a south side ocean view and sunset from your balcony or your master bedroom." While the condo development is as oceanfront as you can get on St. Augustine Beach (the beach is very wide, and buildings are separated from the beach by a wide dunes area, so anything "ocean front" is not really overlooking the ocean), this unit is toward the back of the development so does not really have an ocean view. You can see a small sliver of the ocean from the master bedroom window, and if you strain to look thru the palm tree outside the balcony, you can catch only a small glimpse of the ocean. We also felt there were a few essentials missing from the condo, such as beach towels, dish and dishwasher soap, toilet paper, salt and pepper, and a few dvd's. When you are travelling by air, it is not convenient to bring or buy such items. These things aside, the condo is clean and nicely decorated, the internet access is good, and the condo development is well located if you have a car.

Manager response: Every traveler prior to their stay is sent information of what is and is not provided in their unit. Travelers are made aware of what they need to bring or buy before their stay. A starter supply of toilet tissue , bath and hand soaps are provided. Beach towels, food items such as salt and pepper and dish soaps are not on the provided list. The unit is on the south side of the complex as stated and there are ocean views as pictured in the photos that were taken from the windows of this unit. "Ocean front" is not in the description. The pictures of the beach approach clearly show the dunes and placement of the complex. It is located directly on the beach. The resort is also located right in the heart of the ocean side strip and is within walking distance to shopping centers, grocery stores, and restaurants. For entertainment both adult and children's books, board games, and cards are provided. DVDs will be added to this inventory.

About: I am a retired nurse. I am living in Jacksonville Florida with my husband and two dogs Taffy and Tippy. We have two grown children and three grandchildren. Ages 17, 15, and 10. My favorite hobbies are walking on the beach, collecting shells, swimming, arts and crafts, and sewing.
Why Ocean Racquet Club:
My family and I moved to Florida after I graduated high school in New Jersey about 40 years ago. I have always been drawn to the water. Particularly the ocean. It always seemed so calming and mystical. When we first visited St Augustine that many years ago, I fell in love with the charm of the city and the white sand beach right from the start. I felt drawn to this area. Through the years we visited St Augustine on a regular basis and I vowed that one day I would become a part of it's culture. As luck would have it, I was never able to achieve my goal and I had almost given up. With lots of faith miracles do happen, I have been given the opportunity to finally own a piece of my dream. I would like to share this with you. I hope that you will enjoy it has much as I do.
