Silver Shekel house description
First off, let me say that this is my HOME, not simply a rental house. You will immediately feel the warmth that can only be felt in a home.
Now I'll give you the quick details: this house can easily accommodate 15 people. You have a spacious kitchen and lower wet bar, two large living rooms, two fireplaces, three dining tables, three big comfy couches, two top-shelf entertainment systems, a full Mac Mini/printer setup, and all the trimmings to have that many people live comfortably.
I looked for 11 months throughout all of Summit County to find this house, and I have spent a lot of time and money making it really nice. I'm a mechanical engineer (Princeton University) and own my own business...that means I'm a gear-head perfectionist whose livelihood depends on excellent service. I host customers and dealers here, and 492 is really setup to have numerous guests at all times living comfortably and feeling at home.
There are five bedrooms, four of them with queens and 1 with a full/twin bunk. All of them have very nice Garnet Hill sheets, Calvin Klein pillows, large dressers/closets, lamps, and fun posters of cycling and mountain adventures. The bedrooms are all located on the east side of the house, backing up against a 0.6 acre backyard full of pine trees and gorgeous sunrises. They are extremely quiet and comfortable--you can go to sleep at nine while others stay up watching TV until midnight without any issues.
The bathrooms (one on each of the three floors) are nicely equipped with large fluffy towels, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soap, TRESemmé, and lotion for the dry conditions. They have excellent water pressure and get hot in less than 10 seconds. They all have large, well-lit mirrors and the master bath has some of the best views of the entire house, southwest over the entire resort and Ten Mile Range.
The main living room, on the second floor, has a 20' vaulted ceiling with exposed wood beams and a wood-burning stove whose exposed chimney reaches to the apex of the roof and heats the entire home. The master bed/bath on the third floor opens to the main living room from above with sliding pocket doors, and houses the office with large flatscreen monitor, wireless commercial printer, and Mac Mini.
The first floor living room also has tons of room, tons of windows, a wet bar with microwave, toaster, glass-front mini-fridge, and a whole second set of dishes, pint glasses, coffee mugs (with French press and drip makers), and even features a full-size kegerator with twin taps--perfect to get a couple 1/6 barrel kegs from the Breckenridge Brewery and support a large group!
The entertainment system in the main level is really something you won't find in almost any house at any price. It is a 100' 1080p HD projector mounted to the ceiling that is better than most movie theater experiences. Want to watch the latest release in Blu-ray, or stream over the Apple TV in full 1080p? Want to play XBOX 360 with 5.1 surround sound through Paradigm/Sony speakers? Want to watch over 200 channels in HD on DirecTV including every single premium movie channel, and record on the Genie whole-home DVR in case you're out skiing while something is playing? You got it.
492 Fairview is so nice, if it were anywhere else you'd never want to leave. But, it's just a few miles from the Breckenridge gondola! The parking is $5 and it takes you right to the bottom of the main mountain! And, if you don't have a car, or if you have some late risers who can't make the first chair at 9AM, then you can walk down the street and hop onto the free Summit Stage shuttle bus that comes every 1/2 hour and makes just a single stop before it drops you off right in front of the gondola!
Decide you just don't want to ski one day? The trailhead for Lower Flume is less than 1/2 mile away, featuring some of the best trail running, snow shoeing, and classic cross country skiing in Breckenridge. Don't worry about running with your dog, either--we live on a quiet, peaceful, wide street in a great neighborhood.
Feel totally beat after skiing for days, running, snow shoeing, hiking, etc? Just hang out in the huge six-person luxury hot tub that's right on the southwest corner of the second floor deck and looks out over some of the best views in Breckenridge. Make sure to contemplate just how rough life can be.
For the short time you're here--and trust me, it will feel way too short--my home is your home. I trust you'll enjoy it as much as I do, and be just as sad to leave as I am.

Long Weekend/Birthday trip
Long Weekend/Birthday trip
I rented this house for a long weekend/birthday trip with a bunch of friends. It was a great home base with plenty of room for everyone to hang out, use the hot tub, watch movies on the big screen, etc. The description is right-on regarding the views—they are amazing and it's a pretty ideal location. Some of us walked down to the shuttle stop to get to Breck, and some of us carpooled to town. 3 levels made it easy for everyone to have rooms and privacy/space during our stay. The open living room area and high ceilings (and window views!) were great.

Great place to stay!!! Awesome house/ close to everything!
My friends and I stayed at this condo from Dec 28 - Jan 2 and we had a great time. The condo is literally within walking distance to the gondola or a 15 min drive to Breckenridge. The condo has everything you could want, including a 6 person hot tub, giant projection screen and multiple fireplaces. If you are considering a trip to Breck I highly recommend staying here! We will be making this our go-to condo for any future Breck ski trips!

About the owner: I am a graduate of Princeton University in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, owner of Boo Bicycles, Aluboo Bikes, and a professional road and mountain bike racer as well as multiple national champion (Under 23 National Championship Time Trial in 2007 and Collegiate National Road Race Championship in 2009). You can learn a lot more about me if you Google 'Nick Frey Boo Bicycles'. I have built the company from scratch, bootstrapping and growing organically through profits that are the result of making sure we have happy customers. My business is service first and foremost. I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and was a National Merit Scholar as well as AP National Scholar. I played soccer from the age of 5 to 14, and then switched to cycling, a hobby I'd always loved but a sport I knew little about until I was in it. After placing sixth at the US National Championship Road Race as a 14 year old (mostly due to good timing and luck!), I was hooked. From there I continued to improve and train over 20 hours a week through high school. I was invited to race for Hottubes, the top under-18 racing team in the US, when I was 17. I took cycling all the way to the professional level in 2008, all the while pursuing my mechanical engineering degree at Princeton (the only Iowan in my class!). I raced professionally for four seasons, including two on the top-ranked Jamis Sutter Home Men's Professional Cycling Team. I had some very promising results, but as my company grew I decided to focus on building it and use racing for marketing and product testing. So I still race at the professional level, but have no pro team obligations!
Why the Owner Chose Silver Shekel:
I have come to Summit County to ski with my father since I was five years old. It's always been near and dear to my heart. Since moving to Fort Collins in 2009 to pursue my cycling career, I've always longed for the crisp, clean air of the high mountains. Every time I drove up I-70, I started to smile and feel like all is right with the world. The high mountains have a way of making you feel small, making your problems feel insignificant, putting things in perspective. It's so easy to get away from it out here, it's right outside the door--biking, hiking, skiing, climbing, running, or just hanging out under the 300+ days of bright sun and bluebird skies. I searched for a house up here for the last 11 months. I looked at over 20 properties before this one, all over Summit County: Dillon, Silverthorne, Summit Cove, Keystone, Frisco, and the various neighborhoods of Breckenridge. 492 Fairview was love at first sight. It's way up on the hill, looking out over the entire town and the mountains. It's a wonderful, secluded, quiet neighborhood full of locals, yet right next to 9 and within easy driving of anything in Summit County. It has a wall of windows in a living room with 25ft ceilings, a wood-burning stove, open to the third floor and the second floor deck with hot tub...basically the perfect layout and hangout spot for all my friends and customers. Its bedrooms are on the east side of the house and its living rooms are on the west side--quiet and dark for the bedrooms and bright and open for the living rooms. My father is a 68-year-old recently-retired architect...i.e. VERY high standards for a property in terms of design, build quality, and functionality...and 492 passed all the tests. I love living at 492 Fairview and it's difficult to leave for a 'vacation' when the best one can be had here!
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I won't repeat myself...the one thing that sold me on this house, the piece that I fell in love with at first sight: the view. It is beautiful, majestic, powerful, and humbling. I think you will feel the same.
