Have an amazing experience while staying inside an art gallery housed in one of the oldest buildings in Charleston.
Located in the French Quarter district of downtown Charleston in a historically marked building from 1670 is a newly renovated two bedroom rental. The exposed brick space is adorned with handcrafted touches: exposed beams, restored heart-pine floors, and beautiful original artwork. Perhaps the most memorable part of your stay is that the space itself is nestled within a 6000 sq. ft. art gallery - Robert Lange Studios - voted Best Gallery in Charleston 2010 - 2012.
In a city filled with art, culture, and food there is no better street to stay on than Queen. It's a quiet street that is home to the Dock Street Theater, Foot Light Players Theater, HUSK Restaurant (voted 2012's best new restaurant in America), as well as six of the city's best galleries. Less than a block from East Bay Street and the waterfront, everything is within walking distance of this comfortable, elegant, and light filled space.
So if you're coming to Charleston - which was named Conde Nast Traveler's #1 City In the World and Travel + Leisure's #2 Best City in the U.S. and Canada - you should stay within the walls of its best gallery.

My family (mom, dad and 2 teenage girls) spent a wonderful weekend in the loft at RLS Studios in downtown Charleston, SC. The space is amazing and well appointed. The location is perfect. We parked our car Friday evening (in the garage a short walk from the loft) and only needed it once all weekend. Our new friends at the gallery are courteous and fun. We recommend this rental for anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

What a great location. Steps to restaurants, bars, coffee shops and all the history Charleston has to offer. A unique and beautiful setting with the apartment is housed on the second level of an art gallery. Be aware, if you bring a car, you will have to park it in one of the local pay garages. Overall just an excellent place to stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers.

RLS Studios is your avenue away from normal en route to a culturally fulfilling experience that you'll never be able to replicate (unless you become a frequent visitor at the RLS apartment :) ). Despite the cliche, we really wanted to make the effort to set the tone for 2013 by having a unique experience in Charleston for NYE...RLS could not have been more fitting for such a trip and we know that due in part to our trip to stay at RLS, 2013 will be a Renaissance Year in our Personal Culture. The apartment itself was well adorned with a variety of "flavors" in regards to its decorative art choices. It had all the emenities you would need, including beautiful decor and comfortable and stylish furniture (beds are great!). The location is PERFECT to experience all of the best Charleston has to offer...and perfect is the right word here because you are able to walk to these places! Carri, the Studio manager was extremely personable and accomodating. She made us feel very comfortable amidst the business environment that has been charged with running...Staying here felt like the Studio was welcoming you to be an integral part of the substance that makes up the studio great...it is a very accessible place...again exhibited by the writing above Robert's Studio (across from your apartment upstairs) which welcomes guests to sit and watch him create! Overall fantastic experience that will absolutely exceed your expectations of what Charleston has to offer you!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We could feel even better this historic unique town of Charleston in this old building well maintained. The appartment is just lovely and is located within rhe Gallery. Inside the appartment, we could feel the decoration taste of the artists owners. We were right in the heart of Charleston and walked the city for three days without using once our car. Great hospitality from all the members of the gallery, specially Carri. We would definitely get back to this unique place for our next stop in Charleston. Bravo...!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 1670
About the owner: The gallery has been our love for the past eight years. When we recently expanded to the second floor, we decided to create an oasis for artists and art enthusiasts to come, stay, and be inspired.
Why the Owner Chose Charleston:
A prominent Charleston sculptor used 2 Queen as his studio; when he passed, his wife requested that the building always be a space where creativity is allowed to thrive. Your renting of the space in-turn funds artists from around the world to be able to come and stay.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
The location of this building is unmatched, the history can be felt in the walls, and the space itself is snuggled within a gallery that has been featured in American Art Collector, National Geographic Traveler, the Huffington Post, MSNBC, and voted the best Gallery in Charleston 2010-2012.
