We stayed for a 3 night getaway - too little time! The cabin is very new, clean and comfortable. Located near a boat landing made it a breeze to launch our fishing boat and dock it at the cabin's pier. We loved sitting on the pier chairs under the pines. There's a canoe that would be an ideal way to explore the lake, especially if you don't have your own boat. After dinner, we enjoyed a campfire with the ample supply of dry firewood. The place is ideal for kicking back - all amenities provided. The owners recommended some places to eat out - the choices were excellent. If you don't want to make the drive, just hang out and cook in the kitchen or on the grill. Such a beautiful setting, we hated to leave. The owners maintained good communications from the first contact, to calling us after arrival and spending a little time with us before departing to ensure everything was satisfactory. Highly recommended.

Outstanding 2 weeks
Outstanding 2 weeks
My son and I stayed at the otter cabin for 2 weeks! The cabin was beautifully remodeled and had everything we needed. It was very clean, comfortable, and the modern updates like the wifi and direct tv were great to have. The cabin location is quiet and private! Everything was as advertised. The lake was awesome and so were the trips down the Chippewa River. Caught my 1st Musky right off the dock! Also caught some small Walleyes as well. Animals were all around. A doe wandered and started grazing right in front of the picture window as we were eating dinner!! Awesome! We also saw a bear cross the highway! We went to the original Famous Dave's Barbeque in Round Lake which was cool! We also had fun in Hayward, about 30 minutes away at the freshwater fishing hall of fame and at the go cart track. As avid waterfallers, we used a couple of days hiking Copper Falls State Park, Morgan Falls and St. Peters Dome. They are all little over an hour drive from the cabin, but, very well worth the time if you like outstanding scenery and hiking. Our stay at the Otter Cabin left us with many outstanding memories of a lifetime! The time just flew by! Thank You! Dave & Jake Sussex, WI

What a gem. I almost didnt review our stay so I could keep this cabin a secret! Perfect location on a quiet bay of Moose Lake. The whole family had so much fun it was very hard to go back south after our week in heaven. I could gush for pages but I wont. Dont stay here you may never go home!

Neat as a pin when we arrived. Had everything you could possibly need in the cabin and gave good instructions on what we should bring. A beautiful private cabin with its own dock and the boat ramp a stones throw away. Lots of humming birds to watch through the window. The cabin is small but very very nice would recommend for 3 or less. We loved it and you will too.

Great little lakeside getaway!
Great little lakeside getaway!
Very comfortable cabin with excellent lake view and easy lake access. It feels better to be here than the pictures can show: the picture window looks out over the lake and the living/dining/kitchen setup feels surprisingly spacious. It has good "feng shui." Decorations are tasteful and appropriate. Also, cabin is clean as a whistle: people with allergies, relax, not a mold spore or micron of dust anywhere thanks to the brand new carpets, paneling and furniture (take it from me: if there's any dust or mold at all, I will notice). Even the bedding is super clean, like it was bought last week. Good quality, too. Bed and futon are both very comfortable (slightly firm, which we like). 4 is definitely the limit for sleeping (two couples and a baby, max), but the table seats more than 4: we have friends in the area and easily fit 6 people around the table for dinner. Fire pit with lots of wood is a nice touch (we made s'mores!). We found an aluminum canoe by the dock and loved canoeing on the lake. Nice also to have access to a garage. Only two complaints, which others may not mind: the shower is really low pressure, and the kitchen is not well equipped for serious cooks. Cooking vessels and utensils are kind of minimal and there are no spices to work with. The grill is good but small, so if you're serving over 4 people, you'll cook in shifts. However, the appliances are all excellent and the long counter in the kitchen makes a great buffet. Plenty of plates and silverware too. Overall, a terrific value. Great for couples, young families, even elders. (p.s. Definitely bring mosquito repellent in the summer!)
