We enjoyed the most relaxing vacation we have experienced in the past 20 years. We loved the quiet of Oxford and its charm and "bikeability". The owner was incredibly hospitable, helpful and attentive to detail for furnishings, comfort and upkeep. Her suggestions for local intake, for us, were spot- on.( we followed every single piece of advice that she gave). We hope to return next year.

Owner response: Guest's reaction to the property has been very rewarding. My team and I have worked hard to make Aurora Cove and wonderful home away from home. My thanks to all of the guests this summer - you have all been wonderful taking kind care of the property and enjoying what she and the Town of Oxford has to offer. Thanks to all of you.
Great place to vacation to really relax. The house was well equipped with everything one needs. The pool was so nice and being right on the water seeing boats go by was beautiful. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a quiet place away form home. One more note, great place for dogs. Oxford is so dog friendly.

Our week long stay at Aurora Cove was highlighted by our time spent down near the water front dock. It was the perfect place to enjoy nature, a nice bottle of wine, and watch the sail & picnic boats come and go with a rhythm that was intoxicating and nostalgic all at the same time. The home itself is clean and well maintained. It is well appointed with many personal items that lend a certain charm to it's occupants. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend some quality time to re-connect with a loved one you'll feel right at home. An added bonus is that the owner makes every effort to provide useful advice of the surrounding area so that your stay will be a memorable one.

Owner response: Thank you for your kind words - the gazebo is one of my favorite locations whether to snooze in the afternoon or as you did, enjoy a good glass of wine.
The home was very comfy and in excellent condition! I loved the personal touches and the backyard is beautiful. The pool is very clean and the kayaks were a great bonus to our stay. I highly recommend this home for a wonderful vacation! St. Michael's and Easton are an easy drive away to access nice restaurants and bike trails. Oxford itself has a nice harborfront and some nice restaurants as well.

"Loved it....would like to plan to visit every year. Your house is the most organized, adorable house I have seen in a long time. The neighborhood was terrific and Oxford is awesome. Your decorating, homey touches, providing everything someone would need is just great. We highly recommend it and if you ever need a reference, I will be glad to provide one. It could not have been better-except the weather!!"

We loved this house so much we are returning for two weeks this summer! Sooo relaxing - love to sit in the pool and look out at the boats going by. The kitchen is very well equipped and organized so you can make gourmet meals - or walk over to Schooner's for some crabs. Our dogs were very happy as were we. Love the master suite - can't wait to get back to Aurora Cove!

Owner response: We are in the middle of spring clean up and it is very exciting. The daffodils are blooming already and it is going to be another great year in Oxford. Watching the boats come in and out of Town Creek has always been a favorite of mine. I especially like being up early enough to see the lights of the crab boats sneak out to their crabbing location. It always brings a quite, safe, feeling to my heart. Look forward to your visit this year!
We stayed at this house in the springtime over a weekend. The house has an intimate feel yet very roomy. The place has been well cared for and is appointed very tastefully. Just the loved how cheery it was! I would say the owner had done a great job of anticipating your every want. We could stay at the house and lounge about or sit out back taking in the water views on the beautiful teak furniture. There was much to do and many good places to go within walking distance. There are lots of places to visit that are within a sort drive. The drive to the house was really fun and we enjoyed the Maryland countryside. We'll be back!!!

I had never explored the Eastern Shore of Maryland until I found this picturesque home to rent, complete with pool, lovely yard and waterfront. You become part of a very welcoming ,snug neighborhood on a dead end street. My dog made friends with Scooter the cat and Henry the dog so he was in heaven. The white picket-fenced town is to-die-for. Slower pace of life, lovely town park right across from a handy market that makes delicious sandwiches to take to the park for lunch. The weekend I was there was an annual regatta from Annapolis to Oxford, loads of sail boats everywhere, a breath-taking sight. But I am not writing a travelogue , you must go to experience it yourself. The best place to relax - like the banner in front of the firehouse said: "Annual fireman's carnival, end of August sometime"!! I am lucky enought to have secured a week this summer...can't wait!!

Year Purchased: 1991
About the owner: We were born, raised, and live in rolling hills of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. In the 1990's my husband and I were looking for a vacation home where we could enjoy the freedoms, fun, and safety we enjoyed as children of the 40's and 50's. We found that place in Oxford - a small town on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. 750 full time residents on 245 acres. Oxford is friendly, familiar, and safe.
Why the Owner Chose Oxford:
This house is one of three built in the 1920's by a father for his three daughters. Using the windows, wood, and doors from the old school house located on what is now Town Park in the center of Oxford, he built his daughters three homes along Town Creek on open farm land with a wonderful view of the Oxford Historical district. Oxford has grown since then with houses replacing the cedar trees and corn. The three homes have changed as well, but looking carefully you can see that originally they were very much the same and tell a story of a father taking care of his daughters without favoratism.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
A cozy waterfront getaway for 2-6 persons with large school house windows and a private pool, waterfront gazebo and dock. The cottage's location provides walking distance to Historic Oxford. Once you drop your keys in the kitchen drawer you may find that walking, paddling, biking or boating are the only types of transportation needed.
