This property features ceramic tile and wood flooring throughout the house. Fully furnished master bedroom suite with a king size bed and in-suite bathroom. Two upstairs bedrooms fully furnished one with 2 queen size beds and the other with 2 full size beds and a jack & jill bathroom. Sleeps 10.
A large great room for you to relax and gather with family after a hard days work at the beach or in the swimming pool with a pull out sofa bed, for added sleeping. We loved the house. The layout plan and open areas were great for a bigger family. The little sitting area on the second floor is a great little getaway that allows some private time too. Having the pool right next door feels like it is your very own. The beach is a 5 minute walk. We loved the privacy of the beach. Jorge, the property manager, was extremely helpful, polite and very prompt to answer questions, bring more beach towels, and help when needed. The home was a delightful surprise!! Everyone in our group enjoyed it!! Thank you!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.

House was as advertised (photographed). It was a perfect fit for our larger family (2 adults + 5 teens). Location was about a 5 minute ride north of Publix on GMD, plus another 5 minutes from the Circle. Easy walk/bike ride to Bridge Street and Anna Marie. House has a great porch-sun deck just off the stairwell to the upper two bedrooms where we sat and enjoyed the view of the Gulf and sunsets. We had use of two bikes (can rent more down the street), a gas grill (we grilled two of the nights we were there), and the Sleepy Lagoon home owner's association pool & whirlpool. The other owner's (neighbors) at the pool were very friendly and hospitable too. If the we weren't at the pool behind the house we were across the street at the beach. The beach access entrance is only a couple doors to the north and a short walk from the street - it took about 45 seconds - 1 minute to get there from the house depending upon traffic on GMD. The house was equipped with four nice portable beach chairs which came in handy for the beach. The beach across the street was pretty wide open and beautiful (typical Longboat beach). The bus stops are right outside the door on either side of the street if you prefer to use the local bus and trolley services. The kitchen appliances and living room area were great for eating-in and entertaining guests at night during our 9 night stay. The beds were comfortable and the linens were clean. The towels were plentiful and plush (also very clean). We are recommending this house for other family members that visit Sarasota and Longboat because this is a great place to stay. The house is very quiet and has plenty of room. The owner (Carlos) was a phone call away and very helpful. There's a caretaker nearby to help with anything in the house as needed (if needed). What a great find - if you need a place to stay in Longboat (Gulf Coast) then look no further.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway.

What a pleasant surprise, this place is amazing! I have spent the last five winters on Long Boat Key and this is by far the BEST place I stayed . This home is not only beautiful, quiet, well decorated but, exceptionally clean and well maintained ! The owner's have thought of everthing you will need for your perfect vacation. Not only is this home exceptional but, the owner's are very special as well. This unique property is so perfect, Im already making plans to return next year !!! We just got back from a wonderful family vacation at this terrific property on Longboat Key. The house is even more beautiful than in the pictures and had everything we needed for our stay. It is very nicely decorated but also extremely comfortable, really just perfect. The location is great too - at the quieter north end of the Key and a short walk to a lovely but uncrowded stretch of beach. You can easily explore the beach towns of Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria to the north or drive 10 minutes down Longboat Key to the Mote Aquarium, St Armand's circle or cross the causeway into Sarasota. There is a pool right next to the house as well although we didn't use it - the beach was just too nice! Carlos (the owner of the house) was great to deal as well. About the owner: Growing up in the North Eastern part of the U.S., the winters were cold and long, so we decided to purchase a summer home in warm Florida. But not just anywhere in Florida; we fell in love with the Gulf Coast and especially Longboat Key 26 years prior while on vacation with our then, six month old daughter. Since then we made it a priority to some day buy a second home here. In 2006 and three kids later, our dream became a reality when we purchased this beautiful Mediterranean style home on the Gulf.
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes, Sleepy Lagoon:
We had been dreaming of buying a home in beautiful Longboat Key for years. We returned time and time again on vacation to this area. We enjoyed the beautiful clear, warm sandy beach, the friendly people and the slow pace Island living. In 2006 we immediately fell in love with this beautiful Mediterranean style home. It offered everything we were looking for, a wonderfully comfortable home with a great room with a fireplace to gather, relax and enjoy family time with our three kids. A dock for boating, a pool for evening swimming, hot tub for relaxation and a short walk accross the street to the most beautifully kept sandy beach on the Gulf. It also offered a short driving distance to beautiful St. Armands Circle where we enjoy going out to dinner and shopping. Since then, we have enjoyed bicycling, walking, swiming, jet skiing, boating and priceless moments spend with family.
