Located only 7 miles from downtown Fredericksburg in the heart of the Texas Hill Country and Wine Country makes this the perfect place to get away, relax, or to enjoy all that Fredericksburg has to offer. The Guest Quarters were constructed inside of a large country barn overlooking Bear Creek on 33 acres.
Creekside was beautifully constructed and decorated in Texas Hill Country charm, antiques, and stained concrete floors. A large wood burning stone fireplace with a 40” HD flat screen is the focal point in the spacious living/dining area. This room has attention to detail with a vaulted ceiling constructed from long leaf pine reclaimed from a 1920’s German Homestead in addition to the custom cabinetry throughout. The kitchen has granite counter tops and is fully equipped with full size appliances, pot/pans, dishes. The bedroom also has a vaulted ceiling and is very cozy and quiet for a good night’s sleep on the luxury queen size mattress high thread count sheets. The bathroom is very spacious with a large walk in shower.
Outside, there is plenty of outdoor lighting and the huge pergola offers a place to relax, dine, or enjoy views of the Hill Country. In addition, there is also a wood burning stone fire pit with plenty of comfortable seating to break the winter chill to enjoy family/friends. The yard is beautifully landscaped with Texas native plants to attract butterflies and hummers. Be sure to explore the property to enjoy the abundant wildlife and song birds. You can also beat the heat by taking a short hike to the “swimming hole” for a dip in the clear waters of Bear Creek (during non-drought conditions).

Myself and 3 friends stayed here for a girls trip weekend and were very pleased. Shirley, the owner, was very sweet and accommodating. She went out of her way to make sure our stay was enjoyable and stress free. She even let us know about an storm that was headed our way and let us park our cars in the barn. The grounds are beautiful, the guest house quaint and comfortable, and we have definitely decided that this where we will stay for now on for our future trips to the hill country.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My friends and I absolutely LOVED Creekside Barn! It's located close enough to town for a quick drive in but far enough away to enjoy the quiet of the country. The creek is lovely. We spent our morning with a good walk followed by coffee outside as we watched hummingbirds busily feed.... there were so many hummingbirds! Our evenings were spent grilling and later enjoying a fire outside watching the lightning bugs (which I hadn't seen since I was a kid). The best part of our stay was Shirley though. She is an amazing hostess! Her and her husband have truly built a little oasis and they take amazing care of their property. You can tell they really love their home. Shirley had our coffee set for our first morning and a homemade breakfast cheesecake in the fridge for our enjoyment. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was! You have to go to Creekside!!!!Recommended for: People with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

I traveled to Creekside with some friends for a girl's getaway weekend and was stunned by the beauty of the property and the charm of the guest quarters. The location is equipped with gorgeous amenities which encourage exploration of the amazing hill country location...we adored the fire pit overlooking Bear Creek and the pergola which proved the perfect location for enjoying early morning breezes, bird watching, and relaxation. The peacefulness and reconnection with nature that is fostered at Creekside is unlike any I've ever experienced at a rental property. On our first evening at Creekside we were pleasantly surprised to be surrounded by the twinkling lights of fireflies, which we hadn't enjoyed in years! Our hostess was incredibly helpful, accommodating, and personable. Shirley proved to not only make our stay comfortable, but truly memorable through kind gestures of breakfast, helpful information regarding the area, and a ready-made fire pit every evening. The significant work and upkeep of the location is evident through beautifully manicured paths and easy access to Bear Creek and surrounding areas. My experience at Creekside surely will not be my last, I'm certain the location will prove an annual meeting place with girlfriends and family alike. Thank you Shirley, for the laughs and incredible experience! We sincerely appreciate your generosity in sharing your home with us and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am so happy that you and your friends had a great time. I love hearing that your experience was a good one...it makes all the effort worth while. You are welcome at Creekside anytime and it was a pleasure meeting you

Our stay outside of Fredericksburg, TX , at Creekside Barn was just what we wanted. We were surrounded by beautiful Hill Country. It was quiet and peaceful. The 'home' was very clean and very comfortable. Our hosts greeted us with cookies and quiche for the next morning's breakfast. The cabinets were complete with ample cooking utensils and spices. I couldn't have wanted or needed more. Lovely all the way around!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers.
Owner response: It was such a pleasure meeting you and your family. We are really glad you enjoyed your stay and we hope to see your in the future!

Shirley and Wayne are very nice and extremely hospitable. The attention to detail in and outside the cabin was unbelievable! It is a beautiful setting and very comfortable. My only regret is that we couldn't spend an extra day or two just enjoying the cabin and property. Allow time for this if you book the cabin. It is the little things that make a difference to me. Like the coffee pot ready to brew, the fire pit ready to be lit, coffee cake for a little snack. I will definitely try to get back there very soon!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for the wonderful review. Wayne and I love hearing that you had a great experience. We welcome you back anytime and appreciate your business. I hope your ride to the "Three Sisters" was a great one.

The converted barn is beautiful and nicely upgraded. Our family of four spent 4 nights for the kids spring break and absolutely loved it. The creek , outdoor dining and fire pit were great. Beautiful setting and the location was great to go into Fredericksburg in less than 15 minutes. Thanks to Shirley for her hospitality and having the cabin set up perfectly to include fresh baked cookies! The price was right and we will certainly stay there again for our next hill country trip.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the great review! It's great to hear that you and your family had such a great time. My husband and I appreciate your business and your service to our country. Take care and we hope to see you again!

If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic, comfortable, private home away from home, where no detail is overlooked, from the coffee pot ready to just push the button to brew a fresh pot of coffee, to the well stocked kitchen with spices and all the necessary items to make it a home away from home, including a grill, Creekside Barn is the place to be... Be ready to enjoy the variety of birds right outside the window at the breakfast area as they playfully gather around the feeder while you enjoy breakfast. There are various sitting areas to enjoy your meals and snacks, from a small table right outside the home for a cup of coffee or afternoon snack, to a gazebo to enjoy a grilled dinner under the stars. Great place, very relaxing.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.
Owner response: We are so happy you enjoy the place. You take such good care of the place and we always look forward to having you back!

The house is an extension of the barn. The interior is done up nice. But the exterior is what we really loved. Shirley had set up the firepit for us so we didnt have to do anything other than light it up. We had complete privacy the entire we were there. Woke in the morning to deer hanging out on the property and then a flock wild turkeys. One of our best experiences.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay. My husband and I really enjoy the wildlife as well, I am so glad the turkeys showed up! They are fun to watch. I hope you will come back to stay with us soon. Thanks for your business!
