Surrounded by mango treas in the heart of Placencia Village, the Octopus's Garden open Dec 2012 offers a comfortable one bedroom apartment a stones throw from the famous Placencia sidewalk. Being centrally located, only 1-2 minutes from the beach and the Placencia Village center, it is equally comfortable to lounge on the beach or for perusing the shops in the central square. Our one bedroom apartment is equipped with a kitchenette for those who wish to exercise their culinary skills. And with the Placencia Village market a few minutes walk you will have no problem keeping your refrigerator stocked. Cooking not your cup of tea? No problem, enjoy Belizean Hospitality at any of the several restaurants located nearby. Enjoy a massage at one of several spas located minutes away.
Unlike other hotels we are located close enough to enjoy the local nightlife at the Barefoot Bar and The Tipsy Tuna but far enough to not be disturbed by late night music.
As divers we appreciate being close to the docks and several Dive outfits, especially during Whaleshark season. Please contact us for special rates during this time frame.

We loved our stay here! Tricia, the manager, was so helpful and informative. She seemingly effortlessly arrange all our transportation to and from the airport, made sure we were comfortable, answered numerous questions, the list goes on and on. She runs a great tour service which we utilized and she is all around awesome! The apartment is in the perfect location, steps from the beach, sidewalk and main road. The apartment is clearly well maintained, clean, and generally comfortable. During our month long stay in January, we had over a week of stormy weather (which is uncommon), and as a result we spent more time than we would have liked indoors, which brings me to my ONLY complaint... The couch! Not very comfy, especially for two people, but had the weather been better, we would have never even noticed. It was a small price to pay for an all in all lovely rental experience. I would reccommended this place without hesitation.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are hoping to get helpful input like this from our guests. So far we have had wonderful guests that have been a pleasure to have stay with us. We will look into seeing what we can do to improve the comfort of our sofa. We are working on making changes based on our guests recommendations. We have just added outdoor towel rods on the sides of the balconies based on our guest recommendations and hope that when guests return in the future they will be even happier than their first visit.

We have been here for 1 week now and will be here for 3 more weeks. The apartment is great, nothing more than we need! We are located close to everything in the village, as well as the beach. Restaurants and shopping is close by. The Manager, Tricia, goes out of her way to make us comfortable and to see that we have everything we need. The apartment is small but complete.We walk to the market and vegatable stands each day for fresh food, and the fish coop is only a short walk up the sidewalk for fresh fish. The water pressure in the bathroom is wonderful. We are on the 2nd floor and always have a breeze and have only used the AC for a few hours to take a nap during the day. We have taken a couple of tours with Eagle Ray Tours and they have been fantastic. We were looking for a Belize experience away from the touristee atmosphere, and have found it here.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It has been our pleasure to have such wonderful guests stay with us. As we have just recently opened we welcome any feedback that we can use to make our guests stay more enjoyable. We hope to establish long term relationships with our guests and have them return to stay with us. Based on guest feedback our recent addition of a roof covering for the upstairs porch has helped add a level of comfort to our guests on extremely hot days and still allow them to enjoy the outdoors if there is a light rain. We take our guests feedback seriously and hope we will continue to mature and improve our facilities.

About: Tricia Hernandez is the marketing/sales manager and joint owner of Placencia Eagle Ray tours as well as the manager for the Octopus's Garden and Imperius Rex Apartments. Tricia has lived most of her life in Placencia and enjoys meeting people from all over the world. She has worked extensively in the tourism industry in concierge, reservation and customer service. She has been working in the tourism field in Placencia for over 17 years and brings her years of experience and knowledge to ensure stays are fun filled and a great learning experience.
