What a charming place! It looks better in person than through the photographs. Convenient location, comfortable and quiet place. Loved the personal touches provided by the owner - fresh scone, coffee beans, chocolate. What more could you ask for! We have already recommended it to some friends and will definitely return there when the opportunity arises.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My husband and I traveled to St. Louis to enjoy two Cardinal baseball games in Busch Stadium. The Bakery was a marvelous discovery that added so much pleasure to our first visit to the city. It was charming, decorated beautifully, and an elegant setting for venturing out to the games, the Arch, restaurants on The Hill, and trips to Forest Park. We used the public transportation (Metro Bus #8) located a few blocks away on Russell Street to get to the Soulard area and the Civic Center for a transfer to the #99 trolley that makes a passage to major downtown venues. The apartment is so very comfortable with a large HDTV, luxurious bedding and a kitchen with everything you could need for a wonderful stay. Our car was just outside the entry and that made it far easier to access than staying in a large hotel. Rachel met us upon arrival and departure and could not have been more gracious and kind. It was perfect for our needs and we loved that it was quiet, safe and beautifully maintained.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at this comfortable aprtment in a great Sst Loius location. Close to all the major St Louis attractions. Soulanrd market, the Gateway Arch and museums, Union Station, Busch Stadium, the A-B Brewery, Forest Park and Tower Grove Park. Close to The Hill for authentic Italian cuisine. Bring your bicycles as this property is on well marked bike paths to ride to the major attractions. The accomodations were great. Clean and comfortable and well supplied with coffee and other assorted treats. Although the bathroom is among the smallest we have ever used, it is still very servicable. Rachel was the perfect innkeeper, giving us tips on restaurants and sights to see. We will stay here again and hopefully avoid another record >12" March snow.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This was the perfect rental for friends to reconnect for a 50th birthday celebration. Premises were spotless, beautifully refurbished, comfortably furnished, and perfectly located. Having arrived the weekend of Mardi Gras, we were concerned about possible noise from the historic bar nearby. No worries..our sleeping was undisturbed in the comfortable, lush, king size bed. Kitchen was stocked with not only the basic cooking appliances, but also fresh ground coffee and wonderful breakfast and fruit items (and a delicious chocolate bar). So nice to lounge in morning with great coffee and spacious living area. Watch TV or movie from sitting room or bed. Also a plus to have free parking and easy 20 minutes to airport. Owner was helpful with dining recommendations and our other questions. We would highly recommend this rental. So much nicer and private than a hotel stay. Make sure to walk around Compton Heights neighborhood to view the historic mansions. Couldn't have chosen a better rental. Thank you.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My wife and I stayed at the Ulrich Property over a long weekend and found it very, very nice. Rachel, one of the two suitekeepers, met us at the door when we arrived and even brought fresh flowers for the suite. The accomodation is wonderful, the rooms beautifully appointed, the kitchen spacious and nicely stocked! The apartment is centrally located in St. Louis near the University and the Arch. We will definitely stay at this or another one of their properties in St. Louis.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: We are Karen Karabell & Rachel Presley, two sisters who manage historic properties exclusively in the City of St. Louis. We find great joy in showcasing our amazing city from the 'home bases' of our unique and lovely guest accommodations.
Why the Owner Chose St. Louis:
This property was built more than 100 years ago by the Ullrich Family, who operated a bakery on the first floor and lived upstairs. The building is a classic example of Bavarian Revival architecture. We decided to open the Ullrich Suite to honor the family's enduring contribution to this corner of St. Louis (as well as to provide a great place for travelers to rest after they're done exploring).
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Location, location, location! The Ullrich Suite is located in the heart of metropolitan St. Louis. From here it's easy to get anywhere in the city.
