We had the most magical stay at Santucket. We were in Florida for my neice's wedding on April 15, 2011 and had the pleasure of residing in Old Florida Cottages - Santucket. The beach home was spectacular. Beautiful kitchen with lovely granite countertops. Sharp, stylish decor.....not worn or dated like most beach houses. Complete with all necessary items. Ironing and ironing board, washer and dryer. Nice large dining table. It was great for family game night. Our son had the upper loft and he thought he was in the perfect "man's cave." Thank you Mary and Paul for the fantastic accomodations. Martha and Steve Smith
Owner response:Thank you, Martha and Steve. We are so happy your stay was fun and comfortable. We hope you will return to the magic of Santucket again. Paul and Mary Moses

Family vacationers from Dallas, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC. Have been coming to this stretch of the beach for 30+ years. Never stayed at Santucket and so glad we found it.The house was perfect for our growing family and the amenities made the week even more special. (The pictures on the internet do not do it justice!) Had a great week, sad to leave. Thanks for making our week so special.

This is our third winter in Santa Rosa Beach, and we believe that Santucket is the best accommodation of all. Much appreciated were the wireless internet and the free long distance calling to Canada. Winter, 2009

We just returned from a 1 week stay (6/2 to 6/9). The property is exactly as advertised. Excellent layout for 2 families with a great view from the first and second floor decks. Looks like some houses may go up in the future taking away some of the view - but for now it's great for the price! House is also up for sale. There is wireless internet access which was a plus. The walk to the beach was not bad at all - but if you are feeling lazy there is parking right up to the beach access point and there was almost always open spots. No need for beach chairs/umbrellas if you dont mind $15/day for 2 chairs and an umbrella (or about $75 for the whole week) from one of several rental companies you will see at the beach. The nice thing here is they leave them up all night so you can use them for evening beach trips if you want! Another great thing about the location is Goat Feather's seafood market is walking distance and has AWESOME fresh seafood as well as a nice restaurant!! We ended up cooking in 3 nights the seafood was so good. This section of the coast is very nice - still underdeveloped (although that is changing quickly!) and very laid back.
Owner response:Thank you for your comments about Santucket. We have taken Santucket off the active market for sale, and it is not listed on MLS. We do want to sell it, but are not showing it during rental season. If anyone who reads this is interested in buying Santucket, please contact us, Paul or Mary, owners.

We stayed at Santucket the week of July 22-29, 2006. It is a spacious, conveniently located home. The views from the upper porch are breathtaking! Two families stayed in the house and it is roomy enough to not be on top of each other. I would highly recommend it. The views must be the best in Old Florida Cottages as the house is situated at the end of the street closest to the beach.

Dearest Mary: My family and grandchildren so enjoyed staying at Santucket. We all are from Arizona and none of us had been to this part of Florida. Truly a gem! We have so enjoyed your home and after searching over 150 houses on the web, we knew when we saw this, we had picked right! I myself am in interior design for over 25 years, and I felt so at home and fulfilled while here- simple, clean, refreshingly put together. The area is delightful and we all are thinking of returning with even more family members next year.

from guest book: This is our first trip to this part of the country. WOW! It is beautiful but HOT! Your house is so lovely and it made us feel right at home. You have done such a nice job with your decorating. We enjoyed our coffee out on the deck each morning.. Our five year old enjoyed seeing and catching crabs, hermit crabs, jelly fish and sea shells. Our 21 month old enjoyed rubbing sand all over his body. Thank you for Santucket and having it so well stocked. We will be back next year.

March 19 - 27, 2004: This house is great! We all converged from cold Columbus, Ohio. The skies were a stunning blue, the water a mystical green and the sand so soft.

July 17 -24, 2004: What a way to spend a week's vacation. From walks along the beach, to spending the day on the beach and enjoying the Gulf to cool us off.... It has been one of our most relaxing vacations. Thanks for opening your lovely Florida home to us.

WOW - we've stayed here 2x in 3 years with my mom and sister and her family. Location is perfect - within FL Cottages - one of the few houses with a view of the sunset. Decor and "liveability" is great even with 3 sets of living habits! Sound and bed arrangements worked great. My little one was 4 the first time. They have chairs and toys and the minimal walking was fine even for my 70+ mother! Water is gorgeous, even lousy weather didn't detour our fun. Loved being so close to Goatfeathers for FRESH seafood daily. Quick drive to lots of putt putt and restaurants but walked to Miss Lucille's for ice cream/coffee daily (1/2 mile via beach or road). The house is very well equipped. We brought Playstation and buzzed to video store one stormy day. Pool is warm and easy to get to from any place in Cottages. Perfect location for beach access without the usual traffic elsewhere. Water inlet with super shallow water was perfect for my kids to play without fear and so I could truly relax. My sister and her teenagers had a great time as well with some but not too many teenagers in the area. What a gem! ENJOY!!!!!
