Year Purchased: 1985
About the owner: We are from Pittsburgh, Pa and have owned this Villa since 1985. I was a former Peace Corps volunteer in the Dominican Republic a number of years ago. When I introduced my wife to this country, she fell in love with Casa de Campo and the Dominican people.
Why the Owner Chose La Romana:
Golf Villa #17 is conveniently located to three Pete Dye golf courses: Teeth of the Dog, The Links and Dye Fore. The driving range is nearby. We can walk to the Minitas Beach (1 mile) for beach sunsets and dining. The 5 star hotel in Casa de Campo features, stores, a restaurant, spa and beauty salon. We are 10 minutes from La Romana, a large grocery store and multiple restaurants. Altos de Chavon is a unique location to enjoy Dominican Art and Culture. Altos has multiple dining options serving a variety of food from Pizza/Hamburgers to gourmet fine dining.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
A recently added terrace off the second floor of our villa has provided us with the ability to live outdoors and enjoy the view of the golf course, ocean and sunset. The Villa has 3 floors, providing privacy for each couple. The first floor has a large suite with two queen beds, a sitting area, office and private bath. Enjoy a massage in the private garden adjacent to this space. The third floor has a king bed, master bath and a sitting area to enjoy memorable views of the Caribbean sunsets. We are close to most major activities in Casa de Campo including horse back riding, skeet shooting, swimming, tennis, the spa, and of course incomparable golf while being in a restful, quiet locale. We will work with you to plan your vacation in Casa de Campo and make recommendations for food, shopping, prices, and site seeing. We do recommend a small car rental to travel inside this 7,000 acre residential community and to be able to access La Romana for food shopping and Altos de Chavon, and their art school which is associated with the Parson's School of Design in NYC.
