Our family of two adults & three children (now teens) have had the honor of staying in this home for many years. Each year the owners have up-dated at least one area of the property and the photos are an accurate reflection of the condition of the home. Renovations have been tastefully done for comfort and ease. The location is peaceful, the home cozy & clean, and the location perfect for the variety of opportunities for which we have used it. Cooking our own food has been important for our budget, and the kitchen & dining area easily exceeded our needs. The location is wonderful for walks, hikes, & swims and we have especially enjoyed exploring Witty's Lagoon. Grocery stores are available within a short 15 min. drive, and downtown Victoria is also easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend or relative.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We were in the Victoria area to lead week-long Mirror Images Retreats and have stayed at the suite of Garry Oak Meadows several times The suite unit has a private entrance, was attractive, clean, and well equipped with everything necessary for a week's stay. We visited the whole house which is spacious, clean and very welcoming and comfortable. The location is safe and secure with a sense of privacy and seclusion. The grounds are groomed gardens and fruit trees. The house is very warm and inviting. The beaches nearby are beautiful and great all year round. Close enough to downtown Victoria that you can enjoy everything, then come back to a peaceful gorgeous area for downtime and quiet. The house is set back from the road so there is no road noise and the backyard backs onto forest for privacy. Love this home, and can't wait to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Jeanette and Dennis have a lovely house, very nicely decorated and clean. They have tons of knowledge on local attractions and have coupon books, to help save you money :). Their home is Eco-friendly, and lush with trees and gardens. It was very relaxing and as an added bonus, we had home made jam :). The private suite was a perfect size for the two of us! It has a full size bed, small kitchen, bathroom and washer/dryer in the unit. It's located really close to a beautiful beach and trailwalks. Downtown Victoria is no more than 15min drive. The hosts were extremely nice, welcoming and helpful with directions. We would love to stay here again!Did you find this review helpful? We had a lovely time staying with Jeanette and Dennis! it was a beautiful little and clean room. It is for a bed and breakfast unique to have also a kitchen. After weeks eating in restaurants we were very happy to cook in our own kitchen. We got to taste their homegrown plumbs and they were very nice. Jeanette and Dennis are very helpful and told us about the cycling tour, the Galloping Goose Trail. We can recommend it! Not to forget; they have the sweetest dog ever, Molly!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jeanette and Dennis are excellent hosts – very helpful with attractions, both nearby and in Victoria. And Molly is a most gracious greeter. The somewhat rural location ensures quiet and privacy – but a car is a good idea for the 15 minute drive to Victoria. The 1½ rooms plus bath and kitchen are super clean and well stocked with food (even fresh from the garden). A great valueDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I have stayed in the main part of the house more than once, and always felt very welcomed. The home is large, nicely decorated, situated in a quiet pastoral setting. Perfect for a family. There is so much to explore all-around, is is only a fifteen minutes drive to downtown Victoria and then there is Sooke and it's pot holes, and close-by there are forest trails, art galleries, beaches... bird life, deer in the yard, flowers and organic vegetables. A perfect restful place for an extended stay. I will recommend it to my guests heading to Victoria!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

I have felt very safe and very comfortable in the little suite, a perfect place for a woman traveling alone. The setting of the house, well set back from the road in a pastoral area is refreshing and restful, after a day spent shopping or visiting Victoria. There is nothing quiet like it: hearty welcome from Jeanette, a little chat, may be a tour of the garden, then time to relax in the privacy of the suite or walk to Witty's beach, close by.The owners are welcoming, the home comfortable. Attention to detail makes this place special. I will be back with my bycicle to explore the Galloping Goose trail.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Why the Owner Chose Victoria:
Purchasing Garry Oak Meadows 15 years ago, was a dream come true for us. With the house well set back from the road, we have privacy and peace. A combination of factors, such as proximity to beaches, the berry garden, organic vegetable garden, fruit trees, and rare birds, made Garry Oak Meadows appeal to our rural roots.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Easy access to city amenities and medical care combined with this pastoral setting enables us to enjoy the best of both worlds. We especially enjoy harvesting our organic produce some of which will be ripe when visitors are here. Help yourself to organic blueberries, blackberries, cherries, apples, or raspberries in season.
